This is the perfect timing for Christmas romance!!
And, I’ve got a Christmas Romance Favorites List already (that was updated last year) but we’re looking for more… though with a specification. Christmas Romance stories that are not too sweet… or in other words, as Camille put it, Christmas stories “with a bit of bite” (and not necessarily the paranormal kind, but if you loved one like that too, let us know! 🙂
She asks:
Hi, Maryse!
With so much craziness and uncertainty in our lives right now, I’m longing for comfort. To that end, I’m seeking recommendations for good holiday-themed romance books. I’m hoping you and your squad of regular readers might have some favorites to shout out!
I do like books with a bit of a bite as opposed to super sweet books; as an example, I liked Married By Christmas by Noelle Adams.
Any favorites come to mind? Your jump start on decorating got me thinking about some seasonal reading! 😊
Thank you so much, Maryse!!
I’ll start us off with our already made list (that I updated last year and will continue updating):
- Reader Recommended Favorite Christmas Books
- Christmas Romance category on the blog (not a very huge category yet, but maybe we can change that). 😀
Got a “Christmas romance with bite” favorite to recommend?
Mony: While not a Christmas story per se, it is key in the story…This is a wonderful book, not too sweet but nicely written…slow at beginning. Moonlight over Manhattan by Sarah Morgan.
While it has sweet aspects, the story is definitely not sweet as thing heat up. Fantastic, low key, “real” hero. The Boss Who Stole Christmas (Reindeer Falls, #1) by Jana Aston

I enjoyed “Baby, it’s cold outside” by Kristen Proby, Melody Anne and Kate Meader, , “The stocking was hung” by Tara Sivec, “Wish List” by Sylvia Day and “Dec the holls” by Jasinda Wilder. This year I have downloaded “The Christmas Pact” by Vi Keenland, “Hot for the holidays” by Marie Force etc, and “Christmas in the City” by Vi Keenland etc., “A christmas to remember” by Hope Ramsey etc., “My True love gave to me” by Stephanie Perkins,
Thank you Lisa!!! I will add these. 🙂
