It Ain’t Me, Babe
I was very excited to hear about this brand new “biker” book with it’s very original-sounding premise. I love the whole “running away from a bad situation, right into the arms of more trouble” theme. And there’s just something about a sheltered, inexperienced and abused woman running away from one commune (a religious one) and finding herself inside a notorious motorcycle club “compound” (that on first sight, look just like how she always imagined Hell would look like).
GAH! I was imagining the freakout, and the very slow-to-warm-up build, and maybe even a slower burn between two complete opposites and I couldn’t wait to jump in!

Book Review – The Resistance by S.L. Scott
The Resistance
This is one from Monday’s four “surprise” book releases that had me VERY excited. So excited, I couldn’t wait until Tuesday’s new release list to post ’em, considering I wanted to read each one equally (and thought you guys might want to, too). And this one gave me a *blurb jolt* ’cause it said he was a cocky, brooding bad boy, and well… truth be told, I was in the mood for exactly that.
But then!!! Some of our fellow readers started chiming in about this particular bad boy (and a certain “thing” about him), and OMG I was SOOOOO IN! Gah! I don’t even know if I should tell you “what” it is about him that sold me, ’cause in a way, it’s a surprise in itself. Yep. Had I gone in blind, this reveal or “mini surprise” would have totally snuck up on me and I woulda been thrilled! Maybe even had a little adrenaline rush. I love those!
Book Review – Jahleel by S. Ann Cole
Jahleel (Love All Wrong)
Hey!!! I really liked this one. I mean really liked it. And depending on how much I continue thinking about these characters over the next few hours… days? Maybe even loved it. Total guilty pleasure.
This is the one that gave me a *blurb-jolt* a few weeks ago when it described an extreme “unrequited love” angle. She sees him, goes pretty crazy for him and he… completely ignores her. FUN! And then a few of our fellow readers gave it a go, and I started getting feedback that had me moving it to the top of my TBR list.
Book Review – Love, in English by Karina Halle
Love, in English
What an incredibly exciting, butterfly-inducing, turbulent love story! This is the epitome of emotional roller coasters, and I could barely put it down. Every single moment of this ride was thrilling, intoxicatingly scary, desperately addicting and breathtaking, right from that first steep hill.
That slow and steady climb (aka “slow burn”), the anticipation, the delicious nervousness fluttering in your stomach, as the wistful yearning to satisfy your hearts newfound desire builds. You tell yourself it won’t be that bad. You’ve got a handle on this. Even though you know better. You’re fooling yourself and the fact that your heart is skipping beats solidifies that knowledge. Deep down, you’re anticipating that heartstopping plunge. Craving it, even. And simultaneously wondering why you are doing this to yourself. Knowing that you are about to go over and it just might be the death of you.
Book Review – Crazy Good by Rachel Robinson
Crazy Good
Okay I’m gonna totally cliché out by saying (’cause I just can’t help myself) 😉 “Crazy Good is CRAZY GOOOOOOOD!!!!” I know probably every good review of this book (and it’s brother) starts with that very sentence but… I just… couldn’t have said it any better myself.
WOW! This book has it ALL and with just enough detail for every phase of this story to have me connecting. Affecting every one of my senses. Now to be fair, it already seemed to have everything going for it from that start. I couldn’t help but move it to the top of my TBR list when:
