YAY Pam!! What an opportunity to highlight my favorite 2014 books so far! And going over these books once again, I can confirm I’m still 100% in love with ’em!

So here they are. These are the books that had me riveted, glued to my seat, and titillated with swoooooon-induced (and/or nerve-induced) butterflies in my stomach. 😉

From rock stars, to taboo, to moody reads to super funny reads to absolute sweet perfection. I’ve got I nice range of recommendations here. In my opinion? These are MUST READS! 😀 read more

Book Review – Veiled Innocence by Ella Frank

Veiled Innocence
Fun!! Well… maybe not always so fun for “them” 😉 (you know the trouble that comes with these risqué teacher-student liaisons *eeeeep!!*) but PLENTY of fun for us! An easy read (albeit fraught with tension), and a perfect example of that slightly taboo read (but not too taboo, ’cause, at least she’s 18). But I had an urge for OMG WHOA! eek… and this one delivered. It gave me that “bad-girl read” rush!

And most of you that know me ‘n my “bad-girl read” needs, probably already figured this would ping my radar. Considering how much I enjoyed this author’s other “risqué” read, and hearing she released another “taboo-style” story… well. I was bouncing in my seat, giggling with glee. There may have been clapping.rolleyes But it’s when I received these comments, that I moved it to the top of my TBR list, and jumped right in. read more

Highly Recommended Risqué, Taboo and Forbidden Love Stories

Who’s in the mood for a risqué read? I mean… risqué within reason, of course (although there are a few on here that I am WAY TOO SHY for, or scared of…) 😉 But there are all different levels of risqué on here.

Looking for something… scandalous? eek You know the kind. The ones that have you connecting to the characters and their plight, despite your initial reaction to the “subject matter”. Taboo stories, but within our genre. And sure… while these are not “romance” books, they are love stories (albeit… different). From Stockholm Syndrome “dark reads” to teacher-student love stories to problematic age differences to er… *other* stuff (along the lines of “Forbidden” <— the ultimate “our genre” taboo story, if you ask me ;)). read more

Book Review – Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher

Whoa.

*blink blink*

I… ache. My stomach aches. My chest aches. My back aches. My overly-clenched jaw aches. It’s the bad kind of ache (but a good one, too). And I cherish every bit of the pain I’m in. Wow. What an unforgettable way to spend a Sunday.

Right off the bat, I want to tell you that this was a wonderfully torturous, amazing, devastating 5-star read for me. Hooked me from the start and didn’t let me go. It’s dark (subject-wise and emotionally). But if you’re good with that, and if you don’t want to know any more (I highly recommend going into this blind), leave this review and read this book! You know me, I don’t “spoiler” anything, but this one is best experienced in complete and utter obliviousness to what’s to come. read more
