Flat-Out Celeste by Jessica Park is now live on Amazon!! :D I loved “Flat-Out Love“ (<— my review), so I’m really excited about this one! :D

I love today, ’cause it’s my own personal “treasure hunt”. I gather the newest adamant reader recommendations, plus I get to scour through many of the “new-to-me” recent releases that I missed, reading blurb after blurb, looking for that *jolt*. ;) And YAY US!! I think found us a bunch! I listed these below, ’cause they sound like they have that *oomph* potential. Some gave me serious blurb jolts, and all sound right up our alley.

From escorts, to recluses, forbidden love to good ol’ angsty romance. From potentially evil husbands to “anti prince-charmings”. From bad boys to “bad guys”. From military/police heroes to creepy obsessive kidnappers. From psychological thrillers to heartwarming tearjerkers, they are all here, they all involve a “love” story, and we can pick and choose to our hearts delight.

Like Because of You (great author, great reviews, and he’s a damaged military hero). <— MINE! The Good Girl (that creepy blurb made me *eeeeeep!!!*), Lost In Me (she has amnesia, and two men with secrets), Love’s Forbidden Flower (although I’m scared like I was with Forbidden…) eek and quite a few more. I noted ‘em, below.

But what’s next for me? EASY! Stolen Course (Wrecked and Ruined #2) from my sexy alpha-cop (but emotionally damaged) duo crush. I can’t *yet* choose between my love for Brett or Caleb, but one thing’s for sure. These angsty and unique stories (well at least book #1 so far) feel SO real, and I am so attached to every one of these characters. And now I’m off to read. YAY ME!!!

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere). :)

NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.

Todays latest reader recommendations and bargain ebook finds:

  • Changing Course (Wrecked and Ruined #1) by Aly Martinez <— my own personal recommendation today. Super-bargain priced, it’s book #1 in a series (book #2 just came out, but both can be read as standalones) and I LOVED IT!!!! Unique, angsty, and I adored the characters (even the best friends!!). They all seemed so real. In case you missed my review last night, <— here it is again. :D And while I’m at it… here are the other books that are next in the series:
  • Savor Me: A Novella by Aly Martinez <— I hear that… while this novella isn’t necessarily a part of her “Wrecked and Ruined” series, we will see them in book #2 (below). YAY ME!
  • Stolen Course (Wrecked and Ruined #2) by Aly Martinez <— and here is book #2 that was just released, and it’s bargain priced. I’m having an Aly Martinez weekend!!! :D
  • Burn (Blood & Roses #3) by Callie Hart <— JUST RELEASED!!!
  • Delight (McKenzie Brothers #3) by Lexi Buchanan <— Just recently released!
  • Look Behind You by Sibel Hodge <— ohhhh psychological thriller (kidnapped and maybe a lying husband!??) that sounds real good! Just released: “Chloe Benson wakes up kidnapped and bound in an underground tomb with no memory of how she got there. She escapes through deserted woods with her life, but no one believes her story. And when she suspects her husband is lying to her, Chloe is forced to retrace her past, following in her own footsteps to find the truth and stay alive. But who is following Chloe?” <— eeeeep!!
  • Transcendence by Shay Savage <— Kandace found us a deal (and it’s one of my favorites from this year! In fact, here’s my review) She says:

Kandace: Sale! Transcedence by Shay Savage is on sale this weekend. I read it and really enjoyed it. I know it sounds crazy because it’s about a caveman but honestly it really worked. The ending was AMAZING! The entire story is told from his POV. One of the reasons why I really enjoy Shay’s stories is because of the way she writes her men. I truly enjoy being in her boys head. Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone!

Lori: Love Shay’s books!! her male POV can’t be beat…

Kristi: I really really loved this book!!

Maryse: YAY THIS BOOK!!! Agreed, I LOVE Shay’s male POV’s!!!

  • Sharing Hailey (Lovers and Friends) by Samantha Ann King <— this blurb made me blush! ;) Sheeeesh. For that matter, even the title makes me blush!
  • When Darkness Comes (Guardians of Eternity) by Alexandra Ivy <— and older paranormal romance “classic”. I read this one back in 2011. Here’s my review.
  • Because of You: A Loveswept Contemporary Military Romance (Coming Home) by Jessica Scott <—- I totally just one-clicked this one. I just can’t resist a military hero when the blurb promises this kind of potential “…meeting Jen St. James the night before his latest deployment makes Shane wonder if there’s more to life than war. He leaves for Iraq remembering a single kiss with a woman he’ll never see again- until a near fatal attack lands him back at home and in her care.” I’ll take it!! :D
  • Blissful Surrender by BJ Harvey <— recent release. He’s a Dom and she’s a cop.
  • Grounded (Deception) by Nicky Jayne <— JUST RELEASED!
  • Late Call (Call #1) by Emma Hart <— Interessssstiinnnng premise. They fell for each other on vacation when they were young. They meet again years later. He’s her new client. She’s his escort. WHOA! Recently released!
  • All A Heart Needs (Callaways #5) by Barbara Freethy <—  ton of great reviews! Oh this looks like it could be tumultuous! Rock star keeping a dark secret that he witnessed as a child and his neighbor… the young widow that moves into town and maybe discovers it… “Jessica Schilling, a young widow, moved to San Francisco to reunite her six-year-old stepson with his long-lost identical twin brother, Brandon. She rents a house just around the corner from the Callaways, and while cleaning out the garage for the previous owner Jessica stumbles upon a very old secret—one that someone might just be willing to kill to keep. Suddenly, Sean is thrust back into the past. He’s never thought of himself as a hero, but now he’s forced to face his most disturbing memories, not only to solve the riddle of the tragedy that ripped his life apart, but also to save the woman he loves…
  • Personal Experiences (The Personal Series #1) by Tracy Lee <— Amy found out that both book #1 & #2 are on sale right now. She says: “If you haven’t read these books yet, now is the time! Both books for $2! Can’t beat that”
  • Personal Possessions (The Personal Series #2)  by Tracy Lee <— yep! Both are on sale.
  • The Good Girl by Lily White & Dawn Robertson <— DARK READ ALERT!! And JUST RELEASED!! Sally says: “…there is only one QUEEN of dark reads for me Lily White has her book THE GOOD GIRL coming out EARLY tomorrow!!! This book is co- written with Dawn Robertson and that’s what I am reading right now and it is UN- PUT -DOWN –ABLE!!” and Jackie and Amy agree: “LOVED it!!!” & “Couldnt stop reading Loved it”. Interesting, creepy-sounding premise… “I wanted nothing to do with him But he was the type who took what he wanted. His hate became his obsession And his obsession became so much more.I am his good girl And I wonder if he will ever let me go
  • The Madam: VIP Series 2 by M. Robinson <— And Kimmie enjoyed this new release “Great Read”
  • Reclaiming the Sand by A. Meredith Walters <— Nancy found us this one! “For those of you who have not yet read: through Memorial Weekend RECLAIMING THE SAND will be reduced. This is a standalone & I loved it even if I was frustrated (no spoilers) but I still wanted more at the end.” He’s the victim. She’s the bully.
  • These Men by Andrea Smith <— Aimee found us this deal (it was a part of the Bend Anthology – but now released on it’s own) and Kandace says: “This is Paige’s story. I really enjoyed it. It’s a shorter story but I liked it.”
And while we’re playing in the reader-recommendations, I couldn’t help but highlight this conversation (’cause I’m sure Jenn isn’t the only one looking for “favorite amazingly awesome”), so feel free to leave your absolute FAVORITE, and I mean #1 favorite(s),  recent or past, in the comments:
Jenn: Maryse and ladies…can you tell me your favorite amazingly awesome book you’ve read?? That’s left you with a wicked book hangover! Please and thank you. Just haven’t found anything amazing lately!

Maryse: Archer’s Voice & Loving Mr. Daniels, right off the bat. Beautiful Disaster forever!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. ;)
  • Torn from You (Tear Asunder) by Nashoda Rose <— Aimee went crazy for this one. It’s from a few months ago, but book #3 will be out soon, so it’s very cool that she jumped in, now. She says: “Just finished reading Torn from You by Nashoda Rose. Not sure if anyone else has read this but…what a FREAK’n ride! This story is forever engraved into my brain with almost every level of intensity you could hope for in one story. This amazing story graduates from warm and fuzzy, escalates to an intensity so fierce you’ll want to shower afterwards and enfolds us into a need so intense it almost hurts. … only two so far in the series. Both are complete” and Pam agrees: “Loved these books”
  • With You (Tear Asunder) by Nashoda Rose <— and here’s the prequel!
  • Love’s Forbidden Flower by Diane Rinella <— TABOO ALERT!!! Stephanie found us these deals saying: “A deeply moving, TABOO love story by Author, Diane Rinella. This two-book series is on SALE…” and Nancy highly recommends ‘em: “I read these {Blush)! … Much better then Forbidden!
  • Time’s Forbidden Flower by Diane Rinella <— and here’s book #2
  • Break Free by Amber Garza <— RECLUSE ALERT!!! And what an intriguing premise. She’s on the run. He’s a reclusive writer. “When Jade and Kyler meet they find solace in one another and start to heal. Until Jade stumbles upon Kyler’s latest manuscript and is shocked to find that it is her story. One he couldn’t know.
  • Red & Wolfe, Part I: An Erotic Fairy Tale by Ella James <— “short” “Red has something he needs. He won’t take “no” for an answer, and he doesn’t mind screwing her over to get it. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he went off the grid.
  • Red & Wolfe, Part II: An Erotic Fairy Tale by Ella James <— and here’s the “short” part two of the serial. So far, great reviews, and the two serials put together are a little over 100 pages.
  • Imperfectly (Dante’s Nine MC) by Colleen Masters <—- BIKER ALERT!! “Leo Bane, the VP of the Devil’s Wraiths MC, has earned his reputation as an infamous killer and brutal force to be reckoned with. At 6’7″ he’s a towering mountain of pure tattooed muscle, barely able to be contained in his leather cut.” <—- Tee hee!!! Well. *waggles eyebrows* How can I resist this one? ;) And then… “She’s never met anyone like him, he’s the worst thing to happen to her and as much as she hates to admit it…she finds him irresistible.” LOL! Okay yah, this one sounds like it could be fun!
  • For King and Country (Royals Saga) by Geneva Lee <— Just recently released and another intriguing “famous guy” premise. Except this time, he’s… “Prince Alexander of Cambridge. Royal bad boy. Exiled heir to the throne. He isn’t Prince Charming. He’s controlling. He’s demanding. He’s dangerous. And I can’t say no to him.” <— sounds like FUN!!!
  • Master’s Flame (Cirque Masters) by Anabel Joseph <— new release by another queen of “Dark Dom reads”… “CEO Michel Lemaitre reigns as king of depravity. He’s a stringent, brutal Master who selects his slaves based on their ability to cope with strict handling and pain. He exerts rigid control over his chosen partners and they submit to him in all things—that is, until fiery Italian acrobat Valentina Sancia enters his life.
  • Lost In Me (Here and Now 1) by Lexi Ryan <— another recent release with a unique-sounding premise. A love triangle… and she’s got amnesia. “The last thing I remember is having drinks at Brady’s and trying to avoid eye-contact with my life-long crush—the gorgeous, unattainable Maximilian Hallowell. They tell me that was a year ago, but I have no memories of anything since then. What I do have is this ring on my finger that Max says he gave me, and this much-thinner body I’ve dreamed of most of my life. Aside from a case of retrograde amnesia, everything seems almost…perfect. … I need answers before I marry Max, and the only person who seems to have them is the angry, tatted, sexy-as-sin rocker Nate Crane. And Nate wants me for himself.
  • Handcuffed By Her Hero (WILD — Warriors Intense in Love & Domination — Boys of Special Forces) by Angel Payne <— Aimee just found us a bunch more “up our alleys”. “FOUR DAYS ONLY! • Climax by Sexxa Kohl <— Aimee found us this “virgin stripper” ;)
  • Obsession (Southern Comfort) by Lisa Clark O’Neill <— And Aimee found us this mystery-romance thriller. He’s a surgeon with a huge honkin’ crush on a homicide detective and then… crazy stuff happens and “His heroism that day sets into motion a chain of events that brings him to the attention of a dangerous and disturbed individual, threatening his career, his own life and the lives of those he holds dear. Obsession: Because sometimes what we think is love is really only madness.
  • Falling for Autumn by Heather Topham Wood <— and Aimee found out this recent release today and Kathy says: “I read this book and I would give it 4 stars.”
PREORDERS!!! *some highly anticipated ones that are coming out this upcoming Monday & Tuesday*
  • Against the Cage: Worth the Fight Series by Sidney Halston <— I am absolutely reading this one!! I keep hearing AWESOME things by the early readers and I know I’m gonna love it. MMA fighter, romance, steam and funny to boot! YAY ME!!! Elizabeth says: “ Best fighter book Ive read! Highly recommend it” and Stephanie says: “I LOVED Against the Cage. It was funny as hell but really sweet and sexy. I think you’ll really like it, especially since you (like me) love MMA. Loved that it didn’t leave me in a love/angst hangover. I finished…happy.” and Kelly says: “WOW. I am in love with Jack. *Swoon*. The book was so funny (especially the beginning) but more than that had some nail biting moments and most of all…had some awesome smexy scenes. And, since I am totally into MMA right now, it was right up my ally. I love that it was adult and not YA/NA. God, I am having a boyfriend hangover right now. :(

Amy May 23, 2014 at 1:50 PM

I just came across one that is releasing this Tuesday, Sweet Destruction by Paige Weaver. Looks like it has some potential. ;)

Back to shopping! How exciting is today’s list?? :D Looks like more than a few have the potential to…ooooh, I’m trying not to say it…*biting my tongue*…screw it – cocker punch us!! It had to be said. :P *running out giggling*

Tessa May 23, 2014 at 2:09 PM

Devour by a lot of people. *grins* I just got it, and read three books prior, but that many good books for 99 cents is worth it. Last book is Fallen Crest High by Tijan with extra scenes added. *goes searching for Maryse’s book Dom*

Maryse May 23, 2014 at 2:14 PM

Oh shoooooot!!! Pre-orders! Thanks for reminding me Amy! I gotta put those up!!

Tessa… my Book Dom is pleased with me right now ’cause I read what I said I’d read, and I’m reading what I said I would start. ;) Tee hee!! So he may discipline you, since he’s not busy right now. :P

Maryse May 23, 2014 at 2:32 PM

OMG, doing that, I just found TWO of my own highly anticipated pre-orders that I forgot were coming out in the next few days. *squeeeeeeee*!!!!

YAY. Oh no. My Book Dom is getting up… *eeeeeep!!*

babyrn99 May 23, 2014 at 2:49 PM

Sigh….I’ve just started grad school and you are wreaking havoc with my study time Maryse!!! I really need to do something with my one-click habit! I’ll be doing some heavy duty studying this weekend in anticipation of Girl of Rage release! I may have to hide my kindle (it doesn’t work…I just read off of my phone!) I need help!!!!

Amy May 23, 2014 at 2:55 PM

Careful Tessa, you just might run into Aiden. ;) Maryse’s book Dom looks to be busy right now. *snicker*

Tessa May 23, 2014 at 2:57 PM

Oh no! I’ve been good! *hides from book Dom* I just finished a tbr, Raw. Please say there will be a Raw 2 because…ugh! I need more!!! Next tbr, Playing for Keeps. I’m hoping for happy sweet after Raw. Wish me luck.

Tessa May 23, 2014 at 2:59 PM

Amy, can I have Tristan instead? Though if I did, I’d probably never read a tbr again. Hmmm…

Amy May 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Life After Taylah – I one-clicked that one, and I’m gonna be it’s b*tch on Monday when it releases. *snort*

Oh crap, I just heard the crack of my book Dom’s whip…

Amy May 23, 2014 at 3:01 PM

Hmmm, Tristan…refresh my memory on that one?

Tessa May 23, 2014 at 3:35 PM

RK Lilley’s Tristan and Danika series. :-)

Maryse May 23, 2014 at 3:54 PM

*giggle* the book Doms certainly have their work cut for them with us brats. Er.. Tessa. I can’t remember, even though I loved him… Was Tristan a Dom?

Sam May 23, 2014 at 3:55 PM

Flat Out Celeste by Jessica Parks came out yesterday. Loved Flat Out Love and Flat Out Matt.

Amy May 23, 2014 at 4:22 PM

No no no, Tessa, you don’t get Tristan. You’re going to get a James Cavendish clone (like mine ;) ). He’s Tristan’s buddy from the Up In the Air series, and James is definitely a Dom. I don’t remember either if Tristan was a Dom, but I’m leaning towards not really. I miss him and Danika. *sigh*

And oh, do I remember Raw. He was a bad, bad boy. *snicker* I’m probably in the minority, but I thought it ended perfectly for the kind of story it was without the need for a sequel. *ducking from the molotov/tampon cocktails*

Maryse May 23, 2014 at 4:28 PM

I loved the ending, too! Made me clutch my heart and hope…

Tessa May 23, 2014 at 4:48 PM

He was a Dom, just not as into the s and m side as James. James though… *sighs happily* I’ll take a James clone! Definitely.

It’s the hope that makes me want Raw part two. It was such a good story, and it made me feel so many emotions. Too many emotions. Thus the need for happy.

Amy May 23, 2014 at 4:56 PM

Exactly! I forgot to mention, I read Love’s Forbidden Flower around the time you guys were reading Forbidden (I had already been gutted by it…I mean, read it before), and LFF for me just *did not* have the same feel as Forbidden for many reasons. It’s not that LFF was not good, it just left me feeling more ewww rather than sympathetic for the characters. I’m not saying don’t read it! Just go in knowing you might not get the same feels as Forbidden.

Okay, back to Quinton & Nova…told ya my book Dom is keeping me in line with my TBR list. ;)

Amy May 23, 2014 at 5:00 PM

*hee hee* Sorry, I meant “exactly” in reference to Maryse’s comment on the ending, but I totally understand what you are saying Tessa. There *were* a lot of emotions with Raw.

cheryl May 23, 2014 at 5:05 PM

Amy- you crack me up!!! :) Ugh…so much for my TBR list. You just about have me sold on Changing Course, though I was thinking about Loving Mr. Daniels or Mid Life Love- I like that the heroine is not high school or college aged. Just not sure if the story concludes in book 2. I don’t know why I’m putting off reading Mr. Daniels- I guess it’s the age of the heroine?!

Amy May 23, 2014 at 6:05 PM

Looks like Cheryl needs a book Dom, too! :P I haven’t read Changing Course yet, but I get to start it hopefully next week if I’m a good girl and stick to my TBR list.

Loving Mr. Daniels…don’t question it, just read it. ;)

Maryse May 23, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Agreed!!!! :D

Diane Rinella May 23, 2014 at 6:48 PM

Thank you, again, for your support of Love’s Forbidden Flower. I truly appreciate it.

All the best to you,

Annie May 23, 2014 at 8:09 PM

Torn from You and With you by Nashoda Rose are GREAT GREAT reads! You simply must read them!!!!!!!

Sidney Halston May 23, 2014 at 8:47 PM

Maryse!!! My book is on your site!! Thank you thank you! I didn’t know that people had recommended it. I’m speechless. Thanks and hope you enjoy it.

Lauren May 24, 2014 at 7:16 AM

The COVER of Sharing Hailey makes ME blush, Maryse. There was a similar book I read last week in one of the just released anthologies…..a girl & her 2 gay roommates (they are a couple) & she ends up in love with both of them & they both love her…..some REALLY intense sex scenes….& they become a happy threesome.

cheryl May 24, 2014 at 9:18 AM

Ok,ok I’ll read Loving Mr. Daniels, but then I have to be good and stick to my TBR list. Problem is I liked the books when I one-clicked them or I couldn’t pass up the good deal, but then the bright, shiny new books come out and I toss the TBR list aside or I read one of your book recs and have to read that book now. Right now I want to one-click Against The Cage and Life After Taylah, and Changing Course! Ugh, I have book ADD!!! ;)

Maryse May 24, 2014 at 9:46 AM

You’re preaching to the choir, my friend. ;) :P

We are right there with you. A little more discipline would be in order, but what’s the fun in that?

*glances at much needed book-Dom*

Linda May 24, 2014 at 10:15 AM

Oh Cheryl we’re ALL in the same happy giddy bookaholic clickety clickety frenzy. Outside of you guys and this orgasmic book blog I am now at a point where I can’t bring myself to confess my 4 digit book collection. OK my name is Linda and I’m a clickaholic. I surrender I need a book Dom. A really strict one please.
You will looove Loving Mr. Daniels. That being said Price of a Kiss and then To Professor, With Love are absolute must reads as well.

Georgia Nikolaros May 24, 2014 at 10:42 AM

Amy May 24, 2014 at 1:27 PM

There are worse addictions to have. ;)

In Fantasyland, Lahn will always be my favorite. *swoooon*

cheryl May 24, 2014 at 9:17 PM

OMG. Spent my saturday with Loving Mr. Daniels. Wow, just wow. Why did I put off reading it again?! *sigh…now what to read? I should be good and look at tbr list… no I won’t look at Changing Course or Mid Life Love, ugh…

Grey June 16, 2014 at 10:15 AM

Read The Good Girl, by Lily White and Dawn Robertson. Whoa. Just whoa. Very dark. One I couldn’t put down either. I was taking it to the bathroom with me, reading while I was cooking Father’s Day lunch, etc… you get the idea! A little disappointed at the end, because I felt like it wrapped too quickly, if that makes sense. The book had a nice even keel pace, and then I kind of felt cheated that it wrapped up so abruptly. Of course, that could just be me…sad that it was over! Anyway, great book.

On the hunt for my next `cant put down’ story…

Maryse June 17, 2014 at 10:53 AM

I love the dark creepy stories!!
