<— SURPRISE!!!! SQUEEEEE!!! PSYCH-THRILLERS are my favorite and so is Colleen Hoover!!! Two in one for me? MINE!!!!! VerityΒ just went live TWO WEEKS EARLY (I love surprises!!) and we’re having a giveaway for a signed copy right here on the blog.
And here’s what one of my other absolute favorite authors has to say about Colleen’s latest (and she’s queen of psych-thrillers so she knows what she’s talking about):
“Sublimely creepy with a true Hoover pulse. I’ve been waiting on a thriller like this for years.” Tarryn Fisher, New York Times bestselling author.
Yessssssssssss!!!!!! YES YES YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!
Here’s the blurb. This one TOTALLY gives me that jolt I’m looking for. Oh everyone sounds a little psycho already. Tee heeeee!!! π I’m going to highlight my favorite parts of the blurb.
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity likely didn’t intend for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
GASP!!! Β THAT DEVIOUS, manipulative, backhanded… *%$#@*&%*Β
Although… now I’m dying to read these bone-chilling admissions (maybe she’s got a really gooooood reason to be devious?). Just sayin’. π Β A la “Colleen Hoover”, we are bound for a roller-coaster ride and we’ll be guessing the whole way!!

βI have no idea what Pantem will offer, or if itβs even something youβll be interested in,β Corey says. βWe have to sign a non-disclosure agreement before theyβll give us more details. The secrecy has me curious, though. Iβm trying not to get my hopes up, but there are a lot of possibilities and I have a good feeling. We need this.β
He says we because whatever the offer is, he gets fifteen percent if I accept. Itβs the agent-client standard. What isnβt the agent-client standard would be the six months we spent in a relationship and the two years of sex that followed our breakup.
Our sexual relationship only lasted as long as it did because he wasnβt serious about anyone else and neither was I. It was convenient until it wasnβt. But the reason our actual relationship was so short-lived is because he was in love with another woman.
Never mind that the other woman in our relationship was also me.
It has to be confusing, falling in love with a writerβs words before you meet the actual writer. Some people find it difficult to separate a character from the individual who created them. Corey, surprisingly, is one of those people, despite being a literary agent. He met and fell in love with the female protagonist of my first novel, Open Ended, before he ever spoke to me. He assumed my characterβs personality was a close reflection of my own, when in fact, I couldnβt be more opposite from her.
Corey was the only agent to respond to my query, and even that response took months to receive. His email was only a few sentences long, but enough to breathe life back into my dying hope.
I read your manuscript, Open Ended, in a matter of hours. I believe in this book. If youβre still looking for an agent, give me a call.
His email came on a Thursday morning. We were having an in-depth phone conversation about my manuscript two hours later. By Friday afternoon, we had met for coffee and signed a contract.
By Saturday night, we had fucked three times.
Iβm sure our relationship broke a code of ethics somewhere, but Iβm not sure that contributed to how short-lived it was. As soon as Corey figured out that I wasnβt the person my character was based on, he realized we werenβt compatible. I wasnβt heroic. I wasnβt simple. I was difficult. An emotionally challenging puzzle he wasnβt up for solving.
Which was fine. I wasnβt in the mood to be solved.
As difficult as it was being in a relationship with him, it is surprisingly easy being his client. Itβs why I chose not to switch agencies after our breakup, because heβs been loyal and unbiased when it comes to my career.
βYou look a little frazzled,β Corey says, breaking me out of my thoughts. βAre you nervous?β
I nod, hoping heβll accept my behavior as nerves because I donβt want to explain why Iβm frazzled. Itβs been two hours since I left my apartment this morning, but it feels like more has happened in that two hours than in the entire rest of this year. I look down at my handsβ¦my armsβ¦searching for traces of blood. Itβs no longer there, but I can still feel it. Smell it.

OMG…I am dying to read this! Knowing Colleen, it will be incredible! I loved Bad Mommy and the Opportunist series by Tarryn Fisher. As far as Colleen’s books go, they are all so amazing! My favorite is a toss-up. They all just hit me differently, so to choose my favorite is impossible!

I’ve loved all I’ve read from Colleen, but I’ll always have a soft spot for the Slammed trio.
My favorite Colleen Hoover book is “It Ends with Us”.
I have had the hugest girl crush on Colleen Hoover since I read Maybe Someday. The way she incorporated music right into the book that you could actually listen to while you read the lyrics was incredible! I ended up buying the songs so I could just listen to them while I was working. It remains one of my favorite reads…and I didnβt think it could possibly get any better until I listened to the audiobook. Whole new level. (Zachary Webber everyone.)
Any of Colleen Hooverβs books are my favorite! And I LOVE your blog! I actually started reading so many books because of your amazing lists and recommendations. Thank you!
Would love an autographed copy…I would cherish it forever!

I really liked Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. I love all of Colleen Hoovers book but my favorite is Slammed because it was her first. The beginning of a wonderful career as an author.
I loved many books from Colleen Hoover, but I think my favourite might be the first one I read: Slammed!
Thanks for all the books you wrote (and will wrote), Colleen, and for the very generous giveaway.
My favourite thriller is The Talented Mr Ripley.
I hope I’ll be a winner!
I just loved the combination of reading the book and listening to the wonderful music written by Griffin Peterson in Maybe Someday.
I’ll be delighted to reunite with the characters in Maybe Now, thanks for the gift!
My most favorite psych-thriller was definitely Consequences by Aleatha Romig. I remember I couldn’t put it down and I was running home to read more. The twist at the end was completely unexpected for me. Favorite Colleen Hoover book is Ugly love. Such a beautiful and amazing book about love, heartbreak and loss
Omg an autographed copy! What a Christmas present that would be!!

November 9 by CoHo had a twist I didn’t see coming :O
Favorite CH book and I’ve read them all is Hopeless….gah that book but holy hell I just read Verity late Friday into Saturday and I must say didn’t see that end coming and I felt like I was punched in the gut, slapped upside the head…rolled over and kicked. π I loved every second of it and two days later still can’t pick up another book…well I can but it’s useless.
Thank you for the chance!
I just finished verity by colleen Hoover. I love her books and I loved this one. I could not put it down. So good! Go in blind.
