Kandace: I read Ride by Harper Dallas yesterday. I stayed up to 3 AM reading because I couldn’t stop reading. I was so captivated by their story. The secondary characters were amazing. I hope they get their own books. I really thought this was going to be a typical sports romance trope. The story was a lot more emotional than I was expecting. I can’t believe this the author’s debut novel. I felt like I was on the slopes with the team!!

I’m also really excited for Tiffany Snow’s release! And I saw K.A. Linde is releasing a paranormal in a cpl weeks! I may have seen that in a post here and I’m looking forward to it! I tried to read the same book I’ve been trying to read when the mood strikes again today while waiting in the lobby at the doc. today and they called be back after 1 page. Much like when I started it in the bath a month ago and the kids came barging in. It’s like the powers that be as against me. 🙁
On the plus side, baby’s doing good! I got confirmation he’s right where I thought today, low in my pelvis, literally can’t go any lower until time to deliver. Oh, how fun these last weeks will be! Lol

I meant I was 50% through book 2. I didn’t like her in book 1, but once book 2 started she went from misguided to selfish ****. Seriously, if it were a book where the main character was a guy & he behaved like her? He’d be despised. No one would sympathize w him. You can’t be a selfish, horrible person & play the victim. I could say a LOT more, but spoilers.

OMG! I finished Epoch at 2AM! I just could not stop. So be forewarned….you must have lots of uninterrupted time to do both books back to back. Jewel Ann, you are such an amazing writer! The stories you can weave. The feelings and emotions you bring to life. What a gift to all of us! Anyways girls, watch out for 69% in Epoch. My heart will never get over that. Gah!
Also, I must put my 2 cents in on The Boy and His Ribbon. This is another one of those books that you need lots of time for. If you don’t like cliffies don’t read this book yet. I think book 2 comes out in June. I’m dying, literally dying for book 2! Peppers writing is exquisite. It took me there. I felt everything. Definately one of my best of 2018 along with Transcend and Epoch.

Sometimes around a sleeping baby everyone does need to be quiet. When sleeping is the only reason they are not crying. I’ve held babies where you don’t talk (not all the time) over a whisper or move just hoping they sleep over a few minutes and wake up happy, lol.
Hah!! Yes, my first born was like that. She had to be held all the time, no matter what I did. I’m not just saying she was a spoiled baby either, you literally couldn’t put her down, even to sleep. So, when I could lay her down for 20 min, that’s really all she lasted, you couldn’t turn a door handle, step on a creek on the floor, sneeze, nothing!! And I’ve watched babies that’ll sleep through anything too, but some of those special ones, where you just need some peace, it’s like everybody out!! Don’t breath too loud either. Lol

Tasha, that’s proof that all babies are different. I’ve seen all types from both extremes to even one of my nieces who would sleep through anything except her mom stopping a moment and not saying hi. It was as though the baby smelled her while sleeping and needed her to acknowledge her to stay asleep. So each time, she’d get a hi as her mom passed, and that baby would keep sleeping. lol
I think every baby is very different. My son was a nightmare and horrible sleeper as a baby (reason why I only had one) but he liked white noise and background noise. If it was too quite then random sounds would wake him. Even now he sleeps with white noise machines in his room and he is 17.
Lol, I’ve not heard that one before! The one I watch now isn’t a baby anymore, but she’s my very favorite of all of em. She hated being held and I could just put her in her crib and she’d fall right to sleep, on schedule, every time!
BTW- I’m reading!! I haven’t read a book since Bear Town, I think that was February or something. And I can’t stand having a bunch of books started and not finished, so I was determined to stick with this one and now I’m hooked.
Tasha, yep! Sometimes it just takes a bit to not squirrel and actually get into what we’re reading. I’ve been focusing a bit more on what I’m reading lately, too. Although the *squirrel* is STRONG in me… 😉

Okay I have to say I’m so utterly hooked on Transcend. I’m 3/4’s of the way through it and will devour and finish the rest within the next couple of hours and move right on to Epoch.
What I have to say is I BELIEVE everything (relationship-wise, fight-wise, jealous-wise) that I’m reading. SUCH REALITY in these scenes.
OMG OMG OMG I havent read this kind of intensity in a LONG time. For me it really picked up properly at the 50% mark. It is ALL good, and I didn’t think of squirreling or anything, I was into it, but it’s when I hit that 50% that my heart was in my throat and hasn’t left…

Leslie slumps are hard. I used to always have small ones and would usually just marathon shows. But now realize those were nothing. I was still reading a few books a month. I’m maybe reading one a month now. It’s crazy. Never been like this since I learned to read. Even in grade school I’d have stacks and books under the couch for easy access.
So I feel you. Don’t push it, it can make it seem like homework.

MichelleS, I am going to confess. I don’t like This is Us. It feels so fake and overly dramatic. Mostly fake. Oh, they were great parents but their kids grew up to be messed up because of how they treated them. WHAT???
I finished mine, not sure how I feel. I wanted a more definite ending. Sometimes I love the way that ending are kinda sorta left open and others it downright drives me crazy. I bought Broken Girls this morning and I’m liking it so far, but back to my ADD ways. I wonder if you truly can develop that later in life. Not ready to give Transend a go until I can really focus all my time and energy on it. Maybe sometime this weekend, we’ll see. The weather has just clued in to spring here (finally) so I have a feeling we’ll be outdoors, doing some cleaning and running around.
Omg I just realized I can get my flip flops out!!! Oh, happy day!! Lol

On another note, I just watched the movies Me Before You and Everything Everything and loved them both. Of course, the books were better, but they did a good job with the movies. I absolutely loved the actor and actress in Me Before You. And I didn’t realize the actor, Sam Claflin, was Finnick in The Hunger Games!
I think I should read some old undies!!! Ha ha ha. That made me chuckle. Actually, I am sure I have already read most of the popular ones. (Indies that is, not undies. ‘Cause old undies would be gross!) 😉

I’m torn. I so WANT to love this book, but I don’t, really…… None of their later books have lived up to the Beautiful series :/ :/ :/
I like Elliott, although it’s sorta hard to know him cos we see him through Macy’s eyes, including lots of flashbacks. Macy, sadly, is another one of their weakish female hs. Confused, full of too much emo baggage. She’s supposed to be a paediatric doctor but although it’s mentioned a few times, she doesn’t feel like one in any way, shape or form. And I’m just over all of the flashbacks to their teen dramas. Just too much. I wanna see more of them when they’re grown ups!
So, at 78%, I’m a bit frustrated and disappointed in this book. It could have been SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!! Buuuut. Other readers may love it. I’m not a YA fan, but if you like YA you might dig all of the flashbacks……..
Jan – if you’re looking for a non YA book with a non-weak H, then you may like the Jack & Jill series by Jewel E. Ann.
After reading Transcend & Epoch, I needed more Jewel E. Ann, so I read book one in the series. Blown away. Jillian is vulnerable, but not weak. The opposite of weak!
