BREAKING NEWS UPDATE (Wednesday October 15th 2014)!!! BOOK JUST WENT LIVE ALERT!!! And boy he sure is beautiful… I LOVE this cover, and Mr. Beautiful (Up In The Air Book 4) by R.K. Lilley is now live on Amazon (also here’s the series reading order) ———->
Wow… a few “new-to-me” books in here, and they’re the ones that have me *squirreling* most!
Like Bait <— sounds like romantic angst at it’s most hurtiest. 😛 and The Remedy for Love (’cause she’s “squatting” in a cabin, he tries to help, and gets snowed in with her), Collateral (well, I mean, I need to read the whole series but the fact that it’s now complete makes me extra happy!), Delicate Ink (even though it sounds like our bad-boy usual, the blurb gave me a bit more of a “feel-good” feel), and Finished (a threesome “couple” but the dynamics are changing…) Ruh roh.
I REALLY can’t wait to choose one… and that “Bait” one is really calling me. Gah!!! Must. Control. The. Squirrel.
‘Cause… I’m reading something pretty great right now:
Due to Bev and MichelleS’s EXTREME love for this book (“Deeper: A Novel (Caroline & West Book 1)” by Robin York),
Bev: I’m still loving Deeper. It is just so good.
Bev: Started Harder and Ouch.
Bev: Just finished Harder. It is going to be hard to leave Caroline and West. I’m going to badger/broken record here. I adored West and Caroline and these books. Really they are a great read. You ladies need to at least give Deeper a try. Just a little sample.
MichelleS: Bev – so I read the sample for “Deeper’ – totally hooked. Instantly. It’s definitely my weekend read. 🙂 thank you…… (love her inner monologue, the very current could-be-any-girl scenario, and West….. yup…. going to be good, I can feel it.
MichelleS: Bev. BevBevBevBevBev……. I need you. I am 51% into “Deeper”. Oh. Em. Gee. How could you sneak that into the conversation so casually and not SQUEEEEEEEEE like a crazy woman? This is a gem. A find. I LOVE it. It’s the same feeling I had when I read Beautiful Disaster 2 1/2 years ago. One of my first YA novels. I’m tingly. I want to highlight every page. I cancelled my plans for today so I could finish it. Please let the second half be as good as the first. I’m surprised you’re not shouting at Maryse to “read this now”!!!! so so good……. 🙂 (grinning like a love sick teenager)
Bev: Honestly, I think I was just completely charmed by this book. I like NA but can sometimes have a hard time “being” the heroine, but not with Caroline. I loved her voice. Though some of those *thoughts* are heartbreaking.
Maryse: WHOA!!! WHOOOAAAA MICHELLE!!!!!!! What is this about same “feeling” as BD from 2.5 years ago. WHAT WHAT WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!??? I need to start whatever it is you’re reading. NOW. I wanna be lovesick!!!!!!!!!!!
Laura: I think it’s deeper robin York maryse are u going to read it? I think I will start it now u in? If it is deeper there’s already a second called harder * claps and jumps *…
Amy: *perks up* Did someone say a book like Beautiful Disaster???? I’m. So. IN!!!!!!!!!!!!! … Soooooo…first Deeper, then Harder? Sounds like– *mouth muffled by someone’s hand* <— Sidenote from Maryse: *snort* 😛
MichelleS: Maryse – yes, it’s “Deeper” by R York that’s got me in a tizzy. Bev just kind of snuck it in there on Friday as a suggestion, or maybe yesterday morning, all casual like. Bev – you didn’t mention it had a follow up!! I went in blind. What I love – all of her thoughts, her predicament, the moody broody guy, all of the writing (it’s just so easy to read, but I want to highlight everything); the friends, the fact that not so much has to happen, but the interactions between people keep me riveted. It’s that feeling. A total gem.
Jean: I am loving Deeper you guys! Definitely has that Beautiful Disaster feel!
Maryse: I’m reading Deeper! Just started it!
Yeahhhhh… there was no way I could move past these honest-to-goodness book-love reactions. I couldn’t help but squirrel off my main TBR and jump in. So far so good. Great writing, awesome heroine, and pining galore! And then… more reactions.
Aimee: Deeper goes in my top 5 fav reads of all time. So glad you’re reading it!
Cori: The writing is soooo good!! Maryse, I just read and loved these last week!!
Bobbi: Omg Maryse … Harder … the next book after Deeper … omg. I can’t even …
MichelleS: I just finished “Deeper”, so I one-clicked book 2 “Harder”. Those book titles! What was she thinking? Giving Amy way too much material here. Well, I loved it. I knew I’d be crying at some point. Laughing. Smiling. It had everything. A very likable heroine and hero. And even her dad. And his sister. I just connected with it. Thank you Bev, again, for sharing it. (keeping my fingers crossed with you that Maryse likes it too).
Oh happy day!!!!! I’m almost half-way through and very into it!
Soooo… whatcha reeeeadiiiiiin‘?
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
BARGAINS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

- The Devil’s Metal by Karina Halle <— Kat found out that this one, and it’s sequel are on sale!! I read it and loved it! Here’s my review of The Devil’s Metal. P.S. Fun fact: I’m “in” this book. I’m a voodoo priestess. LOL! 😛
- The Devil’s Reprise by Karina Halle <— and now I need to read the sequel!
Impossibly (Dante’s Nine MC) by Colleen Masters <— She’s trying to start over after tragedy, and he’s a fighter/MC member… “Desperate to get the cash his club needs, Declan agrees to fight in a series of underground death matches—where the stakes are high, and only one man leaves the ring alive. With three fights down and one more to go, the Dante’s Nine MC is almost back on its feet. When Kassenia answers an unlikely Craigslist ad for a dream summer internship in Las Vegas, she has no idea she’s about to fall into the web of the dangerous and mysterious badass biker Declan Tiberi. Beautiful Revenge by John Forrester <— Stephanie found us this one! Sounds like a modern day take on Romeo and Juliet: “When her father orders her to keep away from Keary, Clarise finds herself caught between fighting for her family’s survival and her passionate romance with Keary. Her obsession for him collides into the plot of revenge by Keary’s father, whose sole purpose is the destruction of everything she loves in life.“

Oh it DOES sound like fun!!!! “A new neighbor moved in next door and he’s decided that everyone needs to listen to his rap music, shattering Lyra’s quiet existence. Enraged, she stomps to the next townhouse over and who should open the door but a man whose good looks and charming smile knock her breathless. How good looking? Just ask him. How charming? He’ll tell you that too. The king must be dethroned. And a small town girl who’s been through hell is just the one to do it.“

And when Colin finds a way to physically be with Lucy, taking himself to the brink of death where his reality and Lucy’s overlap, the joy of being together for those brief stolen moments drowns out everything in the outside world. Soooo many great books but, im ON PINS AND NEEDLS for the 10/15 release of Mr.Beautiful by R.K. Lilley… 🙂 MISS MY JAMES!!
I agree, Michelle. Tomorrow’s Mr. Beautiful is on my top list. James is top 5 bbf for sure.
I’m teading Reignited, and soooooo much sympathy for the devil. 37% in and I want to just hug the guy.
Amelia Hutchins new book is out- Darkest Before Dawn
Ha! I’m on the bandwagon too and about 25% into Deeper – as soon as the words Beautiful Disaster came into play, like I suspect so many others, I was sold! I commented in another thread but if anyone wants to read a smart, creepy, romantic thriller go read You: A Novel. I’m still thinking about it and have never experienced a book from the viewpoint a stalker (…among other things) all the way through. The book had an Anne Frasier feel to it as well and I love her work. I think this was the first book for this author too so I’m excited to see what she comes up with next since it was a fascinating look into the ‘other’ side of obsession.
Ugh, OK I immediately 1-clicked Impossibility!! Also want Bait, Beneath the Scars, Delicate Ink, and The Remedy for Love ($9.99 WTH!!!!) These lists are killing me!!
Oh and I read Enslaved by the Ocean a while ago and loved it…… so different… hot pirate but cliffhanger! Been waiting for the 2nd book!
I loved the Blood & Roses series. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly a dark read but the hero is definitely an “anti” hero and it’s not your typical love story. I highly recommend it!
The Bella Jewel pirate book is incredible….I read it over the summer. She’s been promising a 2nd book for months…..can’t wait!
I’m not generally a one-clicker either, but this list kept me busy! Hopefully The Remedy For Love will go on sale. I have a bad book problem (don’t we all??) and just can’t do $9.99. But it sounds sooo good, and the reviews are great too! Starting Bait next…
Bargain Alert!!! One Night: Promised is on sale for $2.99 from $7.99!!!! I love Jodi Ellen Malpas’s books so much!!! When I’m in a book funk I always re-read her books!! The second book One Night: Denied is up for pre-order and Out November 11th!! Ok just thought everyone should know 😉 I’m also thinking of reading Dethroning Crown by Lila Felix. I love Hate a love story, so good!!! She is such a funny writer!!!
Thank you K! I just added it. 😀
Michelle I read that one!! Good stuff!!! Red ladles… *shivers*
Oh Jean and Lauren… so that pirate one’s not a new release? *whoops* LOL!!!
Thank you Patty! I love anti-heroes!!!!
Thank you Niki!!!
I just added everything you mentioned. Dethroning sounds AWESOME!!!
Finished Reignited and so good. Lots of emotion and *sighs* and hope. It wasn’t as un-put down able as Extinguish, but part of that was just the “poor guy” sadness that I always stop reading when it comes up in droves. Now off to wander in my happy book mode.
🙂 haha I know you read it Maryse – I commented on the bargain thread below that I thought your review was spot on except I would bump it up a little overall to 4-4.25 stars for me.
K, I flew to look for the new Amelia Hutchins book since I thought it was the next fae chronicles but that one still looks good!
“…sounds like romantic angst at its most hurtiest.” <—– Magic Words!! I'm thinking that one (Bait) might be right after Deeper and Harder (loving Caroline and West!). Blind Side of Love looks great, too. Or Finished. Deeper…Harder…and Finished. I'm talking about the books, ya nymphos! Not *that*!! 😛
Speaking of…
https://www.cocktailmaking.co.uk/displaycocktail.php/199-Nymphomaniac
Sounds soooo yummy and is perfect for you ladies who can't keep your minds out of the gutter. *looks around innocently*
Hahaha Amy! Yeah that cracked me up too….”most hurtiest”!
I must not squirrel from the highlands must not must not
Right, Jean? LOL!!
Someone’s getting a visit from the Grammar Dom again!!! *covertly points to Maryse*
Rachel, you’re in the right place with your bad book problem. We enable each other here. 😉
Deinitely not Amy’s issue at all. No gutter-mind for her… nope. Nuh uh.
*runs off to inspect new gutter-minded cocktail* <--- Er.... that word makes me giggle... *snort* 😛
Tee hee!! It’s fun to make up words. Awwww y’all get me!!!
Yes… a big bunch of enablers here for sure. One-click ebook hoarders. We have book-doms, but they appear to be otherwise occupied.
P.S. Thank you Amy for that three-stroke nail polish instruction. 😉
It’s all good! We enable each other and it makes us feel better when we 1-click like crazy! Where have those Book Dom’s been? I think Amy may have scared then away with her flaming tampon!!! Lol!
Niki, thanks for the info on One Night Promised…. Was waiting for that to go on sale for a while. But the reviews look mixed. Has anyone read it yet??
Michelle- I know and wish is was the next Fae book, unfortunately not. Book 4 is currently being written I think. Can’t wait – it’s one of my favorite series 🙂
Maryse, isn’t that technique great? And seriously, a small brush does wonders to clean up around the cuticles and edges of the polish. 😉
Yep Jean, throw one of those in a martini and toss it…my version of a molotov cocktail!! Bye-bye Doms!
Okay, back to Caroline and West. Oh man, those two poor things are a mess right now. *shaking head*
Amy shared her book Dom with me, so he’ll understand when I squirrel for Mr. Beautiful.
Does a book Dom work when he’s in the top 5 on your book boyfriend list?
Anyone read Blyss by J C Cliff? Really good and couldn’t put it down! Now off to one click to add to my far too large TBR!
Read Blind Side of Love today – really enjoyed it – not too angsty but a good read. Oh and High Strung (rock star) was very good too!
Jean, I really loved one night: Promised!! So good!! You will love M!! I think I will star Bait tonight..or delicate ink, or finished…sigh so many choices:)
I officially hate Tuesdays. I have Maryse-list-anxiety…… they seem to get longer every week. Just when I think I have a plan to tackle my TBR list!
Oh Oh Oh Maryse, you go me there with ‘hurtiest’ 😀 One clicked Bait, fits right in with my current diet of books that leaves my insides feeling all scrambled up and yet feels so good too !
I’m reading Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, just came out yesterday. Quite good so far.
I can’t look at this list yet. Lol I finished Lord of the Fading Lands which I LOVED except for the ch ending. Then, before this list was out, I started reading one from last week’s list (I think) called Undefeated. It’s one of those fighter ones (MMA?). Anyways, I’m over halfway and I have to finish it before I get distracted by anything else on these addicting lists. 🙂
Reading either Black Lies or Bewitching – haven’t decided….. and I may squirrel if I start looking at your list. Someone talk me out of squirreling please.
Still on Red Fox, it changed covers on me today.
I’ve been a little disappointed in some of my newer reads lately so think I’ll wait.I know there are one or more coming out next week I want.
Of course if any of you go crazy over a book on here I’ll prob be one clicking.
Bev I went through that a few weeks back. Several humbug reads in a row. Ick and it was recommendations that got me out of the funk.
Thank you ladies.
Owww, several on the list look good, I was going to one-click Bait, but it has a cliffhanger and book 2 not out!
First, I need to finish the Love and Sports series. It’s ok,the writing improves with each book. The H and h in book 2 & 3 remind me a little of Kiera’s relationship with Kellan and Denny in Thoughtless- she loves 2 guys and can’t decide who to pick. *not saying this series is comparable to Thoughtless series*
I’m ok with being an enabler or enablee 😉
Cheryl, WHAT?!?!?!? I wanted to read that one soon! No, no, no!!
*crosses arms*
That sucks donkey balls. 😐
Thanks Niki! I 1-clicked it! Loved her This Man series!
I picked Black Lies and like it so far. I’m a little lost since it isn’t matching the blurb just yet and it’s going forward and backward at the same time? But I’m intrigued…..
Michelle S you finished Harder? You ladies read so fast.
I thought the ending sort of brought it back around to Deeper, in the feel of that book. I was surprised and happy with what West was showing an interest in. Also with Caroline’s future goal and how he doesn’t really doubt it.
Hi All
Just thought I’d let the Aussie Kobo crew know that Mia Dymond’s first book in the SEALS Inc Series called Leather, Lace & Rock N Roll (current release The Cat’s Meow) is a freebie!
Another of her series – Heroes of Seaside Point – has book 1 Tattoo My Heart as a freebie too. I’ve just clicked both to my library.
Maryse,
I’m sorry if this isn’t the spot to do the above, but I like to read the comments and thought others would too.
Due to the zones, embargo etc we (Aussies & Kiwis too) miss out on so many great books.
Uhhhh…it’s 2:12am and I was exhausted at 8pm, so it’s pretty safe to say you’re gonna like Bait. I’m about halfway and already need some support.
Yeh I thought so too Amy!! At least that was what the review said. If anyone reading finds out differently let us know!!
*cliffhangers suck*
I’m not used to having my reading time reduced so much. Darn morning alarm and getting older. Few years ago would stay up most of the night and still be fine, not any more lol.
I’m not sure what to think of Max. And when Dex said, “Perry, I was hoping you’d come out and get me.”
Love those moments.
I was looking at Bait’ even though doesn’t look like my usual read. But it looks like it has a CH. Mostly staying away from those because recently I never get around to the next book, lol.
Oh Michelle I’m done the second book onto 3 love it!!! I can’t even look at any of the new releases yet to much to read just now I don’t want these to end 🙁
I’m doin’ it cliffhanger and all. I kind of love that intense ending impact of a cliffhanger if done right, and if the book was great, ya know?
*fingers crossed*
First finishing what I’m reading, but right after, I’m Baiting it!!! LOL! 😛
More power to you Maryse!! I just know I’m not a very patient person and don’t deal with with cliffhangers!! 🙂
It already has some great reviews on amazon. How do they have access so early? Can’t wait to hear what you think.
Bev and MichelleS …
May I just say that the steamy detail in Deeper is *whoooooooooo fans self*
I haven’t skipped one single scene. How affecting. Wow. Now that is “realistic” and hot, to me. Not gratuitous detail and non-stop… Just perfect scenes at the perfect time, in the perfect amount of detail.
Okay back to my book. 🙂
Maryse, I completely agree….. Hot, steamy, and real! No skipping for me either, which I do a lot! So upset that Bait has CH, but I already bought it so……..
Wow I love this book you guys. The writing is incredible, the internal dialogue and actual dialogue realistic, and the emotions, so sincere. I totally believe this story.
Yay Jean!! 😀
Maryse don’t u just want to be her friend so she has one I wanted to be her friend so I could shout at the people making fun of her!! How far are u in?
I stayed up until 1:00 this morning to finish Deeper and then had to take some Nyquil to knock me out ’cause I couldn’t stop thinking about it. And that ending?? I felt it. Like, *really* felt it. Thennnnn, I read the first chapter of Harder that was at the end of Deeper…gah!!
One complaint…9.99 for Harder? Really? *grumbling while one-clicking*
I’ve been reading one from my TBR – Unleashed (Ross Siblings #1), but am having a hard time getting into it. Thinking of switching to Bait or Liquid Regret from your list! Or, maybe I should go with past one clicks Ruin or Don’t Let Go? Or, something different like This Man? Decisions, decisions! Any thoughts?
Julie, is that Don’t Let Go by Sharla Lovelace? Because that one sounds really, really intriguing! Aaaaaand…I love her nails on the cover of it. 😉
Julie Bait will be my next one, so I’m partial to telling you to choose it. 🙂
$9.99 for Harder?!?! Damn! I love Deeper! 85% and trying to read at my desk to finish. I was grinning like an idiot around the 74% mark… Definitely a fav for the year! Love Caroline and West! Shout out to bev for this awesome recommendation!
I want to start Bait too but scared of the CH! Who else is going to take the plunge?
Ok well I just finished Apolonia…By Just finished I mean like 5 min ago. and I am not sure. I knew it was SciFi or something like it when I started and I am open to that. I usually like myself some Zombies but this was different for me. I won’t say what because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone but it just wasn’t what I was expecting. For me only like a 3.5 read maybe…I wanted to know what happened but I was already thinking about what I could read next. Anyways I know people said they wanted to know about Apolonia…So there you go! 🙂 Next The Boyfriend Mandate by River James (#2 in the boyfriend chronicles) I am super excited just released yesterday and I have been waiting for my M/M fix!
This is my first time to comment but I am a very frequent visitor to your blog. Like you, I also have a squirrel problem, and by TBR list has been overwhelming me lately, and I have really been in a rut, starting to read several books but unable to really get into anything. UNTIL TODAY when I read about Deeper, I mean anything compared to Beautiful Disaster will have me one-clicking away! So thank you Maryse, I love your recommendations, bargain lists and your reviews – they are spot on. Now back to reading Deeper!!
Finished Bait. It was everything I wanted. Beautiful, well developed cast of characters, glorious ache, brought out all kinds of feelings as I read. My only complaint is that it needs some editing (some pretty obvious grammar mistakes and misspelled words). I would not consider the ending a traditional cliffhanger. It may or may not end in the way you want or expect, and it ends with a promise of more, but it felt like the end of a Batman or Spider-Man, where it’s mostly wrapped up with just a hint of what’s to come. The problem is, you’ll likely want more right away. I can’t wait to hear what you think, Maryse. I loved it.
Maryse Right!?!
I adored both of them and so didn’t want to skip a word.
Amy & Jean Ouch. I got Deeper from one of the bargain lists ( thanks Maryse) and won Harder so didn’t realize.
So hhappy Michelle read and championed this book. So much more fun this way.
Robin York is Ruthie Knox and hope she does more in this genre, hopefully a pair of certain friends.
Fabi the sequel to Angela’s is on sale right now.
Rachel! Not a traditional cliffhanger? You just made my day!! 😀
Looks like I’m starting Bait now. I actually started another book (not Harder…I just couldn’t bring myself to one-click it at that price :?) but Bait is just too tempting to wait on. I’m so excited now!! *bouncing in seat*
Just finished Ruin – very good. Deeper ready to go on the Kindle for the morning commute then Harder and after that Bait – unless Friday’s list throws a spanner in the works..at some point must look at older books on my TBR…..
Amy, you may need some support during and after your read. The author has created a post-read group on fb calked Take The Bait. I’ve joined, but I’m still processing.
Alright Maryse – Bait it is! I’m in with you!
Amy, I love the cover of Don’t Let Go! I might have to tackle it after Bait!
“…some support during and after your read” <—— more magic words from Rachel!
Ya hear that, ladies?? Woooooo-hoo!!! Another one that will make a mess of us!! 😀 Bring on the manatee and martinis!!
*giggle* Am I being too loud today? Sorry, I'm a little hyper. 😛
Maryse – totally agree about the steam factor in Deeper. I read all the scenes. Never skimmed. They were so subtly sexy (the open mouth kiss to her jaw in the library – woo-ee-mama). The sexy interaction reminded me of After Hours (where I also never skimmed). So glad Bev recommended this book. So glad you picked it up, too. (yes, Bev, I finished Harder).
I have “things” to do this evening (life gets in the way of my reading) so i will probably only get to read an hour or so. Still working on Black Lies. Very very interesting. Different. So far so good.
I hate not getting a few good hours in of reading. I feel like I missed out.
Bev, the sequel to Angela’s? Sorry, I’m drawing a blank.
Sorry Fabi typing too fast on phone with auto correct. The sequel to Angelfall. That was you that read it right?
I actually said it out loud, as I threw my legs up on the bed -“Ok Maryse, what you got for me?”. Mr Beautiful! – HA! Awesome!
LOL Janet! There’s alllllways something exciting on these lists. 🙂
I’ve been on a reading roll here like a book a day! Finished Deeper and it was good but I didn’t have the reaction some of you did to it, although it was really enjoyable. Moved onto Progress by Amy Queau and loved this one – flawed, realistic characters with complex issues, but part of a series so will have to wait to get the next one. My library has The Remedy for Love (they have been awesome lately getting good new releases yey) so I started it. I will let you all know how it turns out since the price is a little crazy for this one 🙁 but it caught my eye on this week’s list.
As much as I want to read Bait, and I really, really do, I think I’m going to wait till the series is complete. Since it’s going to be an angsty ride, I know I won’t be able to stand it waiting for the other 2 books to come out. There are too many books on my TBR and other new releases to choose from.
* that should make my book dom happy!!*
Bev, you had me confused there for a bit. The sequel to Angelfall, World End, came out several months ago. I think I read it the day it came out. Lol The 3rd and final book, End of Days, is scheduled to come out mid 2015. Did you hear something different than that?
No. I don’t follow the news about it. I read Angelfall awhile ago and just saw it posted in the kindle deals. Remembered you’d mentioned it but didn’t know it had been out for awhile.
Have you thought about reading the EIT series? I’m a scaredy cat and have not found it bad
I did find parts of angelfall disturbing.
Which one is EIT?
Experiment in Terror by Karina Halle. I’m on book two, first one is free.
I bought them without reading them as Maryse’s reviews came out. She had a lot of love for them and Dex and Perry. I think Jean and Amy mmaybe starting them soon.
Oh yeah. I’ve looked at the blurb for that first one since its mentioned here so often. I’m not fond of scary stories though. Especially if they involve real people instead of being just fantasy.
I’m reading Claimed now. It’s the first book of a series that Maryse listed a new release for. It was also free. I finished Unbeatable yesterday. It was 3 maybe 3.5 stars for me. Too obviously written by a man. They don’t do so well in our female genres. Claimed is like Michelle said, pure smut. But hey, I consider it a light read among all this angst and heartbreak. So I’m liking it.
I’d like to jump on the bandwagon with Deeper and Bait. But my YA reading has been long neglected and is now screaming my name. I think I better knock at least a couple of those out of my tbr next.
Let me know how you end up liking EIT.
I now feel like a book glutton. I’ve read too many awesome books in a row, and am worried about picking a new one.
Darkness before Dawn was seriously good. No zombies, but everything else. I don’t know if I want her to write the next Fae Chronicle book or the next in this series first. The two are totally different but both equally good.
Mr. Beautiful is a little jolting in writing, but I adore James, so… I loved every extra goody, and the epilogue to both James and Bianca’s story and Tristan and Danika’s story was too cute and sweet.
No way too match that. (1st in the gluttony was Reignite). I don’t know if I want Deeper or Bait next. I’m scared to ruin my great book streak.
Deeper is fantastic Tessa! I’ll be reviewing it today. 🙂
Emmm so I’m on the 3rd highlander book hehe still haven’t read harder but I just love these books!!! If people haven’t read these like me u must!!
Tessa, you made me sit up when you mentioned the epilogue of Mr. Beautiful and Tristan & Danika. May have to read it even though I haven’t read any of the other Up in the Air books!
Laura – book three – that’s Circen’s book, right? More Adam Black! yay!! Don’t stop here because the next three are the best of the lot, for me anyway.
I’m still finishing Black Lies. Anyone besides Maryse read this? It’s not a romance – more like a romantic thriller – I have NO IDEA what is happening and can’t even begin to guess, and I like that feeling.
Laura, you’re making me want to reread. Lol
It’s awesome how so many are loving their current reads. It’s like a happy feel on the blog.
I’m also, surprisingly, loving Claimed. Yes, it’s smutty and has lots of gratuitous sex scenes, but they are an intrinsic part of the plot. The heroine is strong and courageous. I always love tough heroines. And well, tall, gorgeous, strong aliens come a close second to talk, gorgeous, strong highlanders. The appeal is in the similarity in how they treat their feisty women. It kept me awake reading till 2 am. That hasn’t happened in a while.
Oh I know fabi everyone is loving what they are reading!!
Michelle I’m not stopping here they are to good!! Although u are all making it hard with tempting me with what u are all reading!
What?? Tristan and Danika?!?!? Mr. Beautiful just moved up on my list! 😀
HOLD THE BUS!!! Just hold on one bloody minute……. Father. FATHER?!? The what in the who now?!?!
Laura lol. You are going through them fast.
Michelle S I think I’ve mentioned before but you have great recall. I usually just remember the overall story arc. With series sometimes the books blend together. I do however remember the meet cute between Adam and his heroine.
Maryse I can’t wait to read your review. So excited.
Fabi just recently read a straight up shifter romance. It was just fun.
Awww Bev, shifter romance. So tempting. I swear this blog is more temptation than I’ve ever tried to resist. hahaha
Staying on any kind of reading track is impossible with you ladies commenting and recommending.
Because of time I’ve been able to stay on track. At this rate I’ll finish Red Fox some time in January, lol.
I want to see if my library has the Ranney (sp?) Michelle S rec’d and then there is the Night Owl sequel. These two may derail my tbr list.
I’m gaining control over my one click. Which is good because waiting is how I used to hit so many sales.
Bev – what is the secret of getting control over 1 click? I think I need help! Hardly a day goes buy where I don’t 1 click!’
Paula Ha! I don’t think there is one. I just got burned and burned out from it. I had a couple disappointing reads in a row but then found a few gems, Deeper & EIT, that I already had.
I think I may do Cheryl’s suggestion, I think it’s Cheryl, of a gift card to myself.
A huge heads up. If you haven’t read the Up in the Air series, only read the Tristan parts. It really is mostly James’s book. How he handles what happened at the end of book three before the HEA and the after the HEA. Some before they met, a lot of Stephen’s POV and his and Bianca’s beginning. Tristan and James are so intertwined that Tristan’s POV got included towards the end.
Tessa, good to know. I wasn’t going to read the Up in the Air series, was thinking Mr. Beautiful could be a re-cap of that series with the added bonus of Tristan & Danika!
Bev, gift card not my idea, I think it was Jean’s. Great idea!
Anyone else reading Bait? I’m having a hard time connecting with it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad or anything. It’s just that I am having no trouble putting it down, and I have yet to “feel” the characters. Something is just missing.
Or maybe it’s just me being in a mood. Wouldn’t be the first time. 😉
James Cavendish (Up In the Air) is a naughty, naughty man. 😛
Well, shoot Amy. I wasn’t that intrigued since I haven’t read any of them. …until you’re last comment
“James Cavendish (Up In the Air) is a naughty, naughty man”
really? did you have to? oh, my poor tbr
🙂
You’re=your
if auto correct would learn a bit of grammar, it would be much more helpful
*grins* James Cavendish is swoon worthy in his naughtiness. Admit it! Hmm, wonder what that says about me?
Loved the Up In Air series and James…..so naughty and yummy! And when someone mentioned Tristan and Danika being in Mr. Beautiful…yep mskes me want to drop everything for that!!
And yes,I buy myself s gift card every week when I food shop… this keeps me somewhat under control (just somewhat)!! Lol!
Ok I’m on no4 but I don’t like it being in our time do they go back?!
Maryse, it looks like Bella Jewel changed the cover but it’s been out since….I think maybe around Nov-Dec 2013. She has pushed back the release date for book 2 six times now….supposed to be out in Feb, now she promises Dec. I need it now!!!
Ohhhh, James is deliciously naughty. 😉
I do have to say one thing though…okay, you know how you’re not supposed to eat clams when there is a red tide? Yeah, obviously James doesn’t think the same thing goes for women. *snort*
Bev – I just looked and that K Ranney book is LOANABLE for Kindle. If I can figure out a way to get your email address without blurting it out on a blog, I would be happy to loan it to you. How’d we do that Fabi? I can’t remember. (The book was Tapestry – the Making Faces meets Pride & Prejudice feel).
I guess I am the lone dissenter. Up in the Air didn’t rock my world. I got bored. It must have been too close to my Shades of Grey reading time and maybe it wasn’t a fresh idea…. I don’t know. I read them, but remember no details. Now I loved Tristan and Dannika series, same author I think?
I think we went through the Goodreads friends list Michelle.
Amy,
…
no comment
Ugh Amy, I can’t believe you mentioned that…..well yeah I can! Lol!
LOL!! What?!? You guys read the same thing I did! *snicker*
Well damn Amy, you had me with the James is a naughty, naughty man, until you mentioned the clams and red tide. Just ughhh!!! Now maybe I will just read Mr. Beautiful and not the entire series. 😉
It’s really not like that throughout the series, promise! It was just one time and very brief and not graphic…more like it just happened quickly to show how uninhibited he was and that was the end of it. I just had to mention it because…well, just because it was too tempting not to!! 😛
I really, really liked the series, but Tristan and Danika will always be one of my all-time favorites. 🙂
*chokes on water* Amy, you are horrid. I am glad there wasn’t detail on that part. Other naughty details were um… yummy. That one had me going, OMG, seriously?
Cheryl, it’s more FSoG naughty, not um… that.
Amy, if I were to ever go out for drinks with you I’d have to wear Depends. You are hilarious woman.
Amy BLECH!! I have the first book of both that and Danika one, just have to read them.
Michelle S that’s so sweet. I’m not on gr and will probably just end up grabbing it.
So just ordered War for the Oaks from the library. I read it like a decade ago and remember LOVING it and want to see if still feel the same. It was, I think, really my first foray into UF.
Since I can’t help myself….. ever….. I just have to say Oh. Em. Gee. I have butterflies in my stomach and a touch of “potential” anxiety. I downloaded the sample for “Plausability” by J Woodruff. Pretty much hooked in a couple of paragraphs. I’m already nervous and fidgety. It’s going to be uncomfortable and push ALL the limits of what I will read…. but I’m going for it. Wish me luck. Will report to the crew when it’s done!!!! EEEEEEK! (I admit I liked the 2.99 price too).
You ladies are acting like *I* made that scene up! LOL!! If you haven’t read it, don’t miss out on it just because of that scene. It really isn’t bad (odd, but not bad)…I just had to have fun with it! 😛
Fabi, believe me, you ladies would have me cracking up as well. And Poise pads are more discreet than Depends…not that I would know or anything ’cause I have *never* laughed so hard I peed my pants. Not me. And I have *never* poured my drink on my lap to cover up said accident. 😉
Plausibility…I remember that one! Looking forward to seeing what you think of it, MichelleS!
Be honest, Amy. Part of you wishes you wrote it just to watch us all squirm. 😛
Today was a not read day. I’m reading Deeper and with everyone’s love for it, I know it’s me. I just can’t concentrate on it. It’s cute, but my mind was going a million miles elsewhere.
Hopefully tomorrow, I’ll actually dive in.
Michelle u will love plausibility it’s so good normal crazy for jettie but great story!!
Amy and Laura – I can’t wait. Didn’t get very far last night, but plan to devour it this weekend. I finished Black Lies and was in a darker mood. This one sounds very (to borrow a word from Maryse)…. “forbiddeny”… Am I going to love it Amy? Did you at least like it? Looking forward to what I think is a vague statement. Tell me what you thought!!!
I read it Michelle I loved it and it is forbiddeny it starts of sort of like one story then goes onto another part it has plenty of twists and turns and those emotions u get were u know u shouldn’t like the hero but u do lol I love all of jetties books although I recently read picked her new one and it was good but not as good as her others, have u read all for maddie by her aswell? It’s amazing!!
Tessa! I would never think of doing that. *snicker* 😛
MichelleS, I haven’t actually read it yet but I remember it showing up on one of the lists here and thought it looked really good. We love “forbiddeny” around here, don’t we? And Laura says twists and turns so…yeah, right up our alley!
Forbiddeny is my favorite!!!
Just thought I’d throw that out there. 😉 In case y’all didn’t know.
Nah, Maryse, we had nooooo idea that you loved “forbiddeny”!
What else can we put a y on the end of to make sound good?
Hey just an update for any wondering about The Remedy for Love which I finished last night. I personally loved this book and it resonated with me especially since it’s a very different read from my norm. It’s really, as one of the reviews I read stated, a character study. The whole book you are with these two characters and it feels like a moment in time trapped in their little snowbound cabin. There are layers of meaning behind a lot said and portrayed – it’s a very mature, honest and poignant read. Also the book is from the male character’s perspective from a male author – very refreshing for me since I read so many female authors/female pov. I would say if you need the literal steam and sex in a read and like the traditional swooning love story this one’s not for you – much subtler but a really beautiful story.
Michelle, I’m always looking for the ones that are “different” in some way. So thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I’m putting this one on my tbr.
