HAPPY BIG NEW RELEASE DAY!! Another new release day of awesomeness and a few of my favorite authors are on here!!! And… the reader recommendations section has three awesome books on it that are on super-sale and that I LOVED like crazy (I included my reviews on ‘em).

So what looks extra good to me today? Forever Right Now (that one up there to the left! Emma Scott is one of my favorite authors and everything I’ve read by her, I’ve loved, and this one is getting AMAZING reviews. I don’t doubt it for a second!), Hangry (sexy hockey star, yes BUT also!! She’s stuck in an elevator with him, and she’s HUNGRY (Hangry!! Tee hee). This blurb made me laugh so hard!!!! I’ve not read this author before, but I have a feeling this one will have me giggling all the way through), The High Road (FORBIDDENY ALERT!!! But in all the right ways. This blurb made me go Ooooooooh, especially the very last line. Oh yes… this one gave me a true “blurb jolt” and I know it’s going to be romantically angsty for sure. Pure trouble!), Obsessed (I’m not big on that cover, but this one is totally new-to-me and also gave me a blur jolt too. He’s a famous author, and his one night stand returns… and if she can’t have him… nobody can. Eeeeeeep!), and Alpha Mail (’cause this service just sounds like too much fun!!).

So what looks good to you? What did I miss?

Also, don’t forget to check out:

Kooloo October 24, 2017 at 7:47 AM

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 7:47 AM

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 7:56 AM

Ok, so I didn’t love Drive. Please don’t pelt me with peanuts.

I AM loving Forever Right Now.

Lisa Aiello October 24, 2017 at 7:57 AM

Well, got my grubby paws on Obsessed and Breaking Grace – and I had to buy Mr. Perfect cuz it’s been on my “gotta buy that someday list”….and why can’t I read everything at once, or read as fast as Kooloo?

And not that I’m outing her or anything…but Maryse, Leslie didn’t love Drive like we did. Can you PLEASE do something with her???

Kooloo October 24, 2017 at 8:00 AM

I still think she read the wrong book lol

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 8:33 AM

*hides covered in book shame and book guilt*

Nay October 24, 2017 at 8:34 AM

Kooloo–uhhh, no. LOL

Nay October 24, 2017 at 8:35 AM

It’s ok, Leslie! I still haven’t told everyone how I feel about Fallen Crest High yet! lol

Amy October 24, 2017 at 8:36 AM

*shields Leslie from incoming peanuts while giving her SEVERE stinkeye*

R. Renee October 24, 2017 at 8:40 AM

Leslie you read Forever Right Now first, and then you go sit in a corner and think about what you’ve done!

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 8:41 AM

Maryse, HELP!! You’re the boss of the blog…can you make the others “play nice”???

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 8:44 AM

I AM in corner reading Forever Right Now.

This is my happy place. No boring starts, no not getting what is going on, immediate connection to story…pure CR bliss.

R. Renee October 24, 2017 at 8:45 AM

I’m going to require constant status updates Leslie. That will make me feel better about your other *cough* situation. (sets peanuts aside for now…)

Amy October 24, 2017 at 8:47 AM

Hey, Leslie, I may not agree with you but I still shielded you.

*huffs in disbelief*

Lisa Aiello October 24, 2017 at 9:29 AM

…eating peanuts…yummmm. I still love you Leslie, even if I don’t “GET” you!!

bev October 24, 2017 at 9:30 AM

Lol. You all are so excited for the new Scott book and I have absolutely no desire to read it, cause so disappointed in the one I read. That you all loved. Different strokes.

Amy October 24, 2017 at 9:38 AM

*giggles and jumps from shielding Leslie to shielding bev*

It’s a little early to be poking the hornets, don’t ya think?

Amy October 24, 2017 at 9:43 AM

As for me, I’ve got my eye on Hangry (sounds snort-worthy) and Crush on Mr. Bad Boy…the title makes me kinda cringe, but the premise sounds like all kinds of unrequited feelings fun!

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 9:59 AM

Bev, book disappointment stinks!!! :(

Although you and I are “picky” about different things, I think we are “picky-er” than some of the regulars around here. Me being one of the pickiest. At least you are open to several genres.

But hey, Lisa still loves me, so I am good. ;)

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 10:16 AM

*hugs Leslie* lol I loved Emma Scott’s fantasy, but I’m on the fence about her CRs. *shrugs* I might try this one when I’m done reading my other books.

Nay, I promise not to throw peanuts. Though, if it has to do with fingernails, I’m going to have my family dig up pictures of my sister or mom’s fingernails that DID BREAK EASY AND DRAW BLOOD WHEN BROKEN. (they were freaking claws, not nails). :P

Ela October 24, 2017 at 10:16 AM

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 10:18 AM

And and and… Mafia and his Angel part 2!!!!! *squeeee* That ending in the last book just was a shock. Pure shock. And it was dark, with tummy twists and all the feels of a mafia book I want. So… MINE. After I finish my reverse harem dragon book. :)

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 10:21 AM

EVERYONE!!! If you want to do the pay for one year for Kindle Unlimited thing, it’s on sale right now for 80.32!!

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 10:28 AM

Is it wrong that everything Ela just said sounds like catnip?

Amy October 24, 2017 at 10:34 AM

Nope Tessa, I’m right there with ya. ;)

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 10:38 AM

Oh good. All she had to add was he was overly possessive and it’d have been potential bestest type book.

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 10:39 AM

*just read Leslie’s comment*

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 10:40 AM

Sorry Leslie… I can’t make anyone play nice because I. FAINTED.

Teresa October 24, 2017 at 10:42 AM

Recently released by a relatively new author Eliza Masters is her 3 book series The Survival of Christa. Loved the books!

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 10:42 AM

*wakes up temporarily to laugh at Ela’s rant*

*faints again EXTRA HARD*

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 10:42 AM

*passes smelling salts over Maryse’s face*

Amy October 24, 2017 at 10:49 AM

*passes pumpkin spice smelling salts to Leslie for Maryse*

Amy October 24, 2017 at 10:51 AM

Overly possessive BULLY, Tessa. With a heart or other condition that makes him susceptible to possible death.

Bestest type book for us.

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 11:04 AM

One man’s catnip, is another man’s anti-catnip.

Deep thoughts, by Leslie

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 11:15 AM

I. Can’t. Even.

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 11:16 AM

Mmmmmm pumpkin!!!!! :D

*faints for extra effect*

*sideeyes Leslie a little while fainting*

Amy October 24, 2017 at 11:17 AM

*poimts to Maryse*

*throws hands in the air*

Now look what y’all done did…

R. Renee October 24, 2017 at 11:18 AM

Ela October 24, 2017 at 11:30 AM

Go ahead…read it and then I cay say I told you so! Reading about a recluse who just has to jack off at least 10 times a day….yeah…have fun

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 11:37 AM

ROFL But it’s KU! Which means for me it’s free. And at worse, it’s a DNF, which happens. :)

Nay October 24, 2017 at 11:51 AM

Ok, so yeah….but back to FINGERNAILS, Tessa. What the heck are you talking about??? I’m so confused!!! *frantically searches FCH for the word ‘nail’*.

Ohhhh, I see what you’re talking about! LOL No, no, no–that is merely the tip of my iceberg…

And yes, Ela, I do want that, so THANK YOU!!!

It’s crazy in here today!

D.G. October 24, 2017 at 11:52 AM

Wait, wait a minute …a recluse who lives himself 10 times a day?!? What book are you talking about Ela??

And just to throw my two cents in *winks at everyone*. I haven’t read Drive or started the new Emma Scott..

Nay October 24, 2017 at 11:55 AM

D.G.–methinks it’s not worth looking at. I just peeked at it, so no.

I HIGHLY recommend KU!! It saves me hundreds of dollars every year.

D.G. October 24, 2017 at 11:56 AM

**loves HIMSELF

D.G. October 24, 2017 at 11:57 AM

I have KU but have been paying monthly but will definitely grab this up!

Nay October 24, 2017 at 12:01 PM

**meant to say ‘I DON’T want that!’ lol

Ela October 24, 2017 at 12:16 PM

Well basically this junior in HS is trying to keep his grades up so he can go to college and make something of himself but he’s among all these rich kids yada yada yada….but still has friends just chooses not to attend parties etc…hence I called him recluse…..but he has a secret….. he’s a “sex addict” and needs to come like every 5 minutes….no flecking joke… sometimes he has to do it in between classes!

Nay October 24, 2017 at 12:19 PM

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 12:42 PM

Hey Maryse, when you have recovered from your fainting spell, can you do us a favor? We have a cowboy themed challenge for November and would love to hear people’s faves (and maybe even variations like country music star H, etc). Think you could ask around?

Ela October 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM

Also, to add to Leslie’s comment….some of us would prefer a book about riding a cowboy….preferably US…. Just sayin’ for a friend

Leslie M October 24, 2017 at 1:12 PM

Well yes Ela, we’d like the books to include the “riding” of said sexy cowboy.

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 1:17 PM

I’m on it guys!!! :D

Jean October 24, 2017 at 1:37 PM

Laughing so hard at you guys! I loved Drive…. definitely 5 stars for me!

I had to 1-click Forever Right Now because ya know, it’s Emma Scott!

Amy, I definitely like the sound of Hangry too!

Grey October 24, 2017 at 1:54 PM

*looks around* what did I walk into???

That riding a cowboy comment was totally directed towards me, BTW! *tosses glitter*

Uh, what was that about a bully… Lead me…

Is there such a thing about a bully cowboy that I can ride because *that* would be EPIC!!

Oh, *sheepish wave*, hi everyone! Thanks, Maryse, as always for this fantastic list!

Forever Right Now… Is amazing. I loved it. 4.75 stars for me.

The High Road also really good… I read and reviewed this one last year when it was included in the Secret Affair anthology.

Kindle Unlimited… Question…I have seriously been considering this. Tessa and I were discussing this on Messenger the other night, I remember there being a big sale on Black Friday… Maryse, do you remember how much the discount was?

Jean October 24, 2017 at 1:58 PM

Do you get to keep the books you get on Kindle Unlimited?

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 3:39 PM

I think it’s about the same that day. I’m not sure.

Jean, no. They are borrows, basically. You can have up to 10 books at a time though. It sounds like a lot, but there are so many good books, I wish I could keep 50 at a time. However, once chosen, you don’t have to return it until you want to.

Jean October 24, 2017 at 3:51 PM

Thanks Tessa…..see here’s the thing….I am really anal about “owning” my books so I can go back and fact check or possibly re-read in the future (although I’ve had no time for that)….or loan them out…I just need them!

R. Renee October 24, 2017 at 3:54 PM

I like being about to go back and look up stuff in books too. If it’s KU, I’ll just re-borrow it, but sometimes the author takes it off KU and then you’d have to buy it to do that. I haven’t noticed that happening much though.

Theresa silverberg October 24, 2017 at 7:32 PM

Anybody???? Lisa Renee Jones was suppose to release Pulled Under today. Book preorder up for today. And then changed to February.
HELP pleaee

Maryse October 24, 2017 at 9:27 PM

I’ll ask her, Theresa. :)

Tessa October 24, 2017 at 11:58 PM

I finished Mafia and his Angel 2 and I’m physically shaking. That was INTENSE! Seriously intense. I honestly started and just kept reading without stopping except for a few must do around the house. It ended with an OH CRAP CH, and you know, next month is the final book, but seriously! If you have an issue with CH, wait for book three. If not, READ THIS. It’s super intense and surprisingly well written.

Though, now I need something happy and light. Something to stop me from feeling like this.

Leslie M October 25, 2017 at 2:34 AM

Forever Right Now was so good. :) It gave me the same “feels” as Ghosted although a completely different story. Books like this are why I read!!

*basks in the happy after glow of a great romance*

Leslie M October 25, 2017 at 9:06 AM

Where is everyone?

Oh no! Everyone is out cold from shock that I didnt like Drive!!!

R. Renee October 25, 2017 at 9:08 AM

Tessa October 25, 2017 at 10:05 AM

I’m kind of here? I’m reading Wrong by Jana Aston. Last night, I literally couldn’t sleep due to allergies again. I finally fell asleep at 3:30 and woke up again due to allergies at 5 am. When is fall going to hit?

Kooloo October 25, 2017 at 10:20 AM

I know it’s hard to see but my new Bitmoji is Bell get a tattoo of a broken clock right beside her tat of a rose done by (you guessed it) the Beast *giggles* It was inspired by my bad ass Twinsie ELAbell

D.G. October 25, 2017 at 11:24 AM

Nay October 25, 2017 at 3:14 PM

R. Renee October 25, 2017 at 4:54 PM

Maryse October 25, 2017 at 7:01 PM

My pleasure Emma!!!!! :D !!!!

Grey October 25, 2017 at 7:28 PM

I just won a couple books on giveaways on Facebook…no mermaid blanket though. *pout* However, I did win Drive by the illustrious Kate Stewart… I’m super excited about that. Of course, I have a couple ARC’s to proof first.

Tomorrow is FLT… I want all of the firsts wait, that sounded REAL bad. I just can’t today. *back to the blankie fort with chocolate*

R. Renee October 25, 2017 at 7:32 PM

Ela won the mermaid blanket! I was so stoked it was one of you guys! Next time Grey. There’s tons to go around!

Tasha J October 25, 2017 at 7:51 PM
Tasha J October 25, 2017 at 7:59 PM

Well, I suppose that was a little anti climatic. lol. I’m still not reading, most likely at least not until November. And on another “note”, I saw this cute scarf by Drew Barrymore today. I like Drew and I also like the look of words on note paper.,0,93,140_QL70&keywords=drew+barrymore+scarf

bev October 25, 2017 at 8:08 PM
Cheryl October 25, 2017 at 8:56 PM

Just catching up on comments. Looks like I missed a lot of fainting and bullying of Leslie. *whispers can’t believe she didn’t like Drive*

Nay, that is great news!!!!

I did break down and buy Until It Fades. I liked it, but not a five star for me. Started Cuffed and then plan to read Forever Right Now.

Maryse October 25, 2017 at 9:26 PM

R. Renee October 25, 2017 at 9:28 PM

Right there with you Maryse!

bev October 25, 2017 at 10:22 PM

Why? Is someone bleeding?

Amy October 25, 2017 at 11:18 PM

*holds both hands in the air*

I didn’t do it.

bev October 25, 2017 at 11:46 PM

But you wanted to.

Nay October 26, 2017 at 4:38 AM

Yes, Amy, 8 months! I can’t believe it either! As always, thanks to you all for your unending support!

I haven’t read Room 212 yet–Yay! I have a few books lined up, and then I’ll read it next!

Leslie M October 26, 2017 at 5:29 AM

Nay, your mom is smiling down on you and keeping you safe! I am so happy to hear that good news.

Ela, you will be a beautiful mermaid. ;)

Tasha, I want that scarf!!

Bev, I got 63%.

Cheryl, Yup! I got quite the tongue lashing. But I loved Until it Fades and Forever Right Now…how is Cuffed? (that cover!!)

Nay October 26, 2017 at 5:31 AM

“By New York standards, there was nothing all that strange about my outfit.”
Move the Stars by Jessica Hawkins

Over 500 pages of pure angst! I’m in heaven!!

Happy Thursday!!!

Nay October 26, 2017 at 5:34 AM
Ela October 26, 2017 at 7:01 AM

Why is Maryse fainting again…are we still upset over Leslie’s review of Drive? *throws peanuts at Leslie*

Nay! I’m so happy to hear the great news!

Lisa Aiello October 26, 2017 at 7:30 AM

FLT – Nellie couldn’t say what woke her.
The Wife Between Us – Greer Hendricks
I am struggling to get into this book, but it’s an ARC and it’s gotten great reviews.

Lisa Aiello October 26, 2017 at 7:32 AM

Nay – I’m so excited for you and your great news!! Wow – I’m still amazed at how strong you are!!!

Ela – you won a mermaid blanket? I’m so…cough, cough…happy (read jealous and I hate you!!!!) for you!! Seriously though, you are gonna rock the heck outta that blankie!!!

Jean October 26, 2017 at 7:52 AM

FLT: “They only take boys.” (Juniper Unraveling ARC by Keri Lake). I am absolutely loving this book! It kinda has an Until the End of the World feel. Soooo good! A little darker though…

I’m jealous about the mermaid blanket too!

Tasha J October 26, 2017 at 8:03 AM

I also got a 60 something, Bev. Lol. I had it in my head and then lost it. I was not with the majority on Twilight vs. True Blood and 1 or 2 more. I didn’t see that purse, or clutch, but it is cute! Pricey for me though, I got me a Vera Bradley 3 years ago on sidewalk sale clearence for $20. It’s pretty dingy now though and I think I’ll get something new for my birthday. I hate carrying around a purse anymore, now I’ve been taking just my wallet everywhere. Which ran me into a problem about a week ago when I took my actual purse to the grocery and discovered in the checkout line, mid checkout, that my wallet was at home. You can imagine my mortification. Lol. I stood at the front with my suspended receipt waiting oh so impatintly for my hubby to deliver it to me. Trick or treat tonight…it’s SO cold and I don’t wanna go! :’( This will be the 3rd night in a row this week I’ve gotta wrestle costumes on. And tomorrow my daughter gets to wear hers to school. I don’t remember ever having to wear my costume but once and that was for trick or treat growing up.

Tasha J October 26, 2017 at 8:05 AM

Oh, who else has Stranger Things marked on the calendar tomorrow?? :D

Tasha J October 26, 2017 at 8:22 AM

Maryse, I have a book question for you. I read a book, probably 5 years ago now and it keeps popping into my head and I’m curious what else the author has written. It was a book about a realtor, a man, kind of a big shot I think, has a female boss who is a jerk, I think, who has to sell a house. The house is haunted, it has a carriage house too. And there’s a woman, I don’t remember her job. Maybe she works as an assistant there or something, but she has a side gig in a band, like jazz or something. I think she was kind of most or nerdy, but came alive with her band. And they try and sell the house together and uncover the mystery, rid the ghosts, that kind of thing. And there’s a love connection there, though they don’t seem like a likely match at first. That’s pretty much all I got. The ghost did cause a lot of trouble, some of it pretty scary. I remember something about the stoves or fire or something.

Leslie M October 26, 2017 at 8:45 AM

Tasha, trick or treat tonight??

Tasha J October 26, 2017 at 8:52 AM

Yep, and it’s about 30-40 degrees right now and supposed to be 50 by the time we start. I hope it’s not windy!! It’s crazy to think a week or 2 ago everyone was complaining how unseasonably warm it was. Shorts and tshirts to winter coat, hats and gloves. I like the cold better than hot, but only when I don’t really have to go out in it. Lol

Grey October 26, 2017 at 9:06 AM

FLT: ~ Sometimes, when I close my eyes, I can see him. ~ True Abandon by Jeannine Colette.

D.G. October 26, 2017 at 9:08 AM

Started Forever Right Now last night!!! *happy dances around room*. And I am LOVING it!!! Surprise, surprise…it is Emma Scott! So surprise, no surprise. A little over 57% in and I have that dreaded feel in my belly…

R. Renee October 26, 2017 at 9:15 AM

FLT: “I took a seat at the small table next to the window unit.” Kate Stewart, Room 212

I’m seriously digging books that are set where I live. This one has tubing in New Braunfels right down the street from me!

Grey October 26, 2017 at 9:16 AM

*Shoves Manny, Godiva and Moscato and makes up a blankie fort for D.G.* here you go!!

Ela October 26, 2017 at 9:20 AM
Tessa October 26, 2017 at 9:26 AM

I see the bloodstains around my nails.
The Mason List by SD Hendrickson

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 9:28 AM

I’m going to be honest. First off, Mason List scares me due to all of your reactions reading it. Second, it’s kind of sad in the beginning.

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 9:32 AM

Has anyone heard from MichelleS? I haven’t seen anything from her since the hurricane. :(

D.G. October 26, 2017 at 9:45 AM

*grabs Manny, Godiva and Moscato from Grey mumbling thank you and climbs in blankie fort*

Nay October 26, 2017 at 9:57 AM

Tessa–I was thinking about her a couple of days ago, wondering if she’d been around lately.

FLT#2 (because I finished Move the Stars and now that I’ve FINALLY finished bawling my eyes out….)
The Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea buzzed under a brilliant blue sky.
A Charm of Finches by Suanne Laqueur

Lisa Aiello October 26, 2017 at 10:35 AM

That Zombie Frappucino looks AWESOME…but caramel green apple with a swirl of dark mocha…those flavors sound disgusting together.

Lisa Aiello October 26, 2017 at 10:36 AM

Nay – you are reading Charm of Finches? Squeeeeee…I read it as soon as I got it, and have to wait until November to review it.

Maryse October 26, 2017 at 11:48 AM

Hey Tasha!!

I posted your question:

Let’s see what we can come up with. :) I also posted it on Facebook and Twitter…

Tasha J October 26, 2017 at 12:49 PM

Thanks so much! I do my reading on my phone and out of 1127 items, all of which I can’t see covers (I can most times remember better visually) for unless I click them individually. It may take me 5 yrs to find it anyway. Lol

Mari Chapman October 26, 2017 at 1:09 PM

These comments are great!! Someone mentioned Cuffed, I really liked that book, it was a little deeper than most and I think that is what I thought was better about it. I am reading a romantic suspense novel right now called Burning Timbers by Baynns Finnleigh, it’s fantastic. I recommend it!

Amy October 26, 2017 at 1:59 PM

“My parents really made a striking couple and I gazed upon them with admiration.” ~ No Direction Home by Elizabeth Burns

Tessa and R…I’m so giddy for both of your first lines! :D

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 2:57 PM

I have to admit, now that I’ve read far more into the book, I’m really enjoying it. I swear, if it makes me cry in the end, though, I’m gonna come back on here and rant.

Amy October 26, 2017 at 4:12 PM

We love hearing a good rant on here. *giggle*

Not that I’m giving anything away, either way, mind you. ;)

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 4:53 PM

I like Jess and Alex! I don’t want anything bad to happen. My only issue is the present tense is very jarring when it happens.

D.G. October 26, 2017 at 5:22 PM

*cleans up Godiva wrappers and empty Moscato bottle then folds blankets and sets Manny on top*.

Abso-freaking-lutely LOVED Forever Right Now! I worried over Darlene…I worried over Sawyer…I also feel in love with Olivia! This book was awesome!

Jan October 26, 2017 at 5:25 PM

*hugs Nay* So great to hear you are doing so well. And Ela, a mermaid blankie. Love that! Lucky you.

I’ve got two FLTs cos that’s how I roll. Usually reading more than one book at the same time.

The first one is a HR (duh) – Beguiling The Beauty by Sherry Thomas. It’s good. Emotionally intense and sexy.
First line(s): It happened one sunlit day in the summer of 1886. Until then, Christian de Montfort, the young Duke of Lexington, had led a charmed life.

Other FLT is Forever Right Now. I’m halfway through but taking a break cos I’m nervous about the coming angst. Yes, I’m worried about Darlene and about Sawyer too. *bites fingernail anxiously*
First line: I barely heard the doorbell under the pounding music and the laughing conversations of a hundred of my closest friends.

Great opening line, isn’t it?

Maryse October 26, 2017 at 6:47 PM

Mari!! I want to read Cuffed SO badly… and now even more since you said it was deeper… YES!!!!! :D

Maryse October 26, 2017 at 7:01 PM

Maryse was fainting ’cause Cheryl didn’t 5-star Until it Fades.

So I faded. ;)

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 7:28 PM

PEOPLE! I’m at 80ish percent and I’m feeling SAD!!!!

bev October 26, 2017 at 9:00 PM

Yes, where is MichelleS? And Fabi? I have not really been on GR.

Kathy P. October 26, 2017 at 9:20 PM

I just finished Forever Right Now. That Emma Scott sure can write beautiful heartfelt stories!! But I am a little upset, I saw that she has a new book coming out in February but that is not the one I want. Please please write a book with Max as the main character. I need for him to find his happiness!!

Tessa October 26, 2017 at 9:31 PM

I’ve seen Fabi, but not MichelleS. I looked at GR and the last post from her was 10/8. Fabi posted just a few days ago.
