Lisa: I loved The Beautiful Years!!!
Debra: Lisa OMG, I finished it last night and I’m in total book hangover! It was soooo good! <3
The Krinar Chronicles by Anna Zaires <— Joy LOVED it!
Joy: On a happy note, author Addison Cain mentioned that she just finished reading Close Encounters by Anna Zaires. I one-clicked it and dove right in. I LOVED IT!!! I finished book one and just started two of the trilogy. I was hooked immediately. I think I’ll be sad to see this couples story end.
BTW, if you like the dark stuff with lots of heat…Addison Cain is the author that gives it to you. Straight, no chaser! She’s not for the faint of heart. Her alpha’s a the biggest A-holes ever, they’re kinky, kinky, kinky, take what they want (non-con), and make you love them by the end of the story. They’re the alpha men you hate to love. Her Facebook group, Addison Cain’s Dark Longing’s Lounge is hilarious and a bit x-rated but we have a ton of fun.

Good morning! Ooooh, what a great list of shinies–and House of York is calling my name!
House of York DOES sound goooooood!!!
*rubs sleep out of eyes*
Morning! I can’t wake up today. When hubs woke me up I told him “no” and went back to sleep. Hee hee. So, more coffee please.
I am working on finishing up Bring Down the Stars (yay!) and getting ready for book 2. Here is thread for book 2 BR for anyone who wants to join us. 🙂
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/19575375-long-live-the-beautiful-hearts-br-starting
Oh, we didn’t love the radishes in the beef stew but will still try them roasted.
Can I please have Manny? I think I am going to need him. I am feeling very weepy.
Why are you feeling weepy Leslie???
*snuggles Leslie*
Here’s Manny. He’s a little matted. 😉
Oh Leslie I just read your comments over on GR and I know where you are and *squeezy hugs* I don’t know where AMY is…she must still be with Bev’s psychopath (potential) so she won’t mind I stole manny and *I give him to you*
Nay-I agree House of York does look good…..and I have been waiting for Hate Notes-can’t wait till I have that sexy arrogant looking man on my kindle staring back at me 🙂
Thanks Jenn, I will probably be ready to start book 2 tonight.
LOL I just saw a major typo that I just corrected. I shouldn’t blog before coffee. 😉
Maryse, I’m having a book freak out. The emotions from Bring Down the Stars are making me weepy. Currently at 91%.
*snuggles Manny*
*stumbles in rubbing eyes*
*accidentally kicks the glitter bomb*
Oops, hope it’s not broken. Time for caffeine.
You’ll all be relieved to know I’m alive and safe from bev’s psychopath. He creeped me out but I managed to sneak away. Now I just might have to follow her trail and visit Alaska…
Awww Leslie, just keep snuggling Manny. He’s used to getting snuffled on. 😉
You Were Always Mine looks VERY promising. And the cover is intriguing! Any cover with water always catches my eye.
Random musing…I’m obsessed with color-changing nail polish right now, especially since it’s cold enough for it to change. 😀
COLOR CHANGING NAIL POLISH?????!!!!
“I would bring down the Stars for her”
Manny is covered in snot
I am finished and I am freaking out. WOW! The last 25% killed me. Thank goodness the whole book wasn’t that intense. I made me feel like I did when I read Behind the Bars. I am emotionally drained right now.
Amy, have you read Bring Down the Stars? It’s super emotional. It’s dual POV, but I think you would like it.
I’m glad your safe Amy. Lol.
R, can stop looking around her yard.
*snort* 😛
Oops was I supposed to be looking? Sorry Amy. I’m too busy laughing at Leslie.
It’s all good. Hubby would have gone all spec ops looking for me eventually. 😛
Leslie, I tend to stay away from books with military characters because the jargon/scenarios/actions tend to be a little…cringeworthy at times. Or I end up getting annoyed and yelling at my iPad, “That wouldn’t happen!!” *shrug*
R! Totally random question. Have you started decorating for Halloween?
Okay, The Beautiful Years looks GOOOOOOD. Also, the first of those Anna Zaires is free, so why not? 😀
Tessa I haven’t started yet… I’m waiting for the first brisk day in October (hoping soon), and then I’m going all out. *fingers crossed*
No. I’m totally skipping it even though it’s our anniversary! It falls on a Wed and ‘ll be in Vegas with Emma the weekend before. Do we know if anyone else is going? It’s the Love N. Vegas con.
Hey R, stop laughing at Leslie and work on lining up those cocktails for the Long Live the Beautiful Hearts buddy read later on…pretty please 🙂
Hugs Leslie…I’m with you on the emotions! It’s so intense! Between this and seeing A Star Is Born on Sunday, my poor little heart is trying desperately to recover from all the intensity and sadness…sniffle. Do you think we could all maybe share Manny on this next BR? I think we’re gonna need him.
Trust me Michele. You don’t want anything to do with Manny right now. And it’s after noon, drinks are served!
Dirty martini please!!! Extra olives. 😀
R, oh yeah I forgot Manny is snot-covered …yikes! So, I’ll take a cocktail and sneak back to read some more…even though I said I wouldn’t…
*passes martini to Maryse*
I had to early because this is little dude’s favorite holiday. 😀
We’re having martinis already?? Heck YEAH!!!!! Extra dirty for me. 😛
And yes, Maryse…color changing polish! They call it “mood” polish, but it’s really based on temperature. It’s one color when it’s cold (usually darker) and then changes when the fingers warm up. Right now I have burgundy glass fleck that turns cherry red glass fleck when I’m warm. Last time it was deep purple (cold) that turned to a warm coral-pink (warm). AND! The glass flecks in that one went from blue with the purple to gold with the coral-pink. It’s so fun!!
Hubby is ordering an evil-looking animatronic that’s seven feet tall to add to our ever-growing animatronic collection. 🙄 But I love Halloween so I’m not going to fight it too much. *snicker*
Usually by noon Manny is tipsy anyway.
Ok, if you wont watch a drama with me then summer time let’s fly to korea.
Though drama is cheaper.
I wanna watch that new Netflix show… Hill House? SCARY is what I hear!!!
Okay ladies, refresh my memory…what is the title of the Alaska book?
*goes to look up Hill House*
Amy, I think the book you are asking about is The Simple Wild.
I’m excited for Sabrina on Netflix, I’ll have to look up Hill House.
Yep, that’s it Leslie…thanks!
Oh, yeah.
Everyone checking out Leslie’s books and Maryse’s scary show.
But me …..no.
I posted it before, but I’m reminding everyone. Bev has feelings too. 😉
https://youtu.be/-Bxc6AzEkEo
I’m so sad right now. Drama Fever shut down.
🙁
I can’t do House Hill. Too scary. Ironically, totally looking forward to Sabrina. 🙂
Bev, oh no! What happened to your show?
Luckily my psychopath is on Viki.
But I do have a couple other new ones and some old ones I was slowly watching on DF.
I will have to look somewhere else.
I loved that DF had a download option that most streaming sites dont offer.
Hi. Did you ever find out the name of the book someone was enquiring about? The one about a guy (maybe a rock star, can’t remember) who goes to a wedding and continues sleeping with a girl, even though he’s engaged? Sorry, the details are fuzzy, but that’s the gist of what I remember. Any news on this? Thanks.
Why everyone so quiet on a Wednesday?

Dont Think Twice Its Ass alright just came on. I forget how much I love it and then it plays. Love the lyrics love the way Dylan sings it. So so good:
So long honey babe
Where I’m bound, I can’t tell
Goodbye is too good a word, babe
So I just say fare thee well
I ain’t sayin’ you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don’t mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don’t think twice, it’s all right
Tessa, I love the way a good cut feels. The colors sound awesome and unique. Glad it’s making you so happy.
Lol!!!!
Why’d my phone put ass in there??
I usually have to try ten time before it will let me cuss.
Also not the word I choose when I emphatically love some thing. That word my phone types as: duck.
Good Morning! I love to see Bev is trying to get some discussion flowing!

Good morning! Brrrr….we are having cold front here. With wind chill it feels like the 20’s.
You know what stresses me out daily more than choosing what book to read next? Choosing what to cook for dinner. I’m not the greatest of cooks, so I am limited. I am sitting here, warming up with coffee #2 and trying to meal plan.
Still in the 90s here. Upper 80s… COME ON BRISK CHILL!! I WANNA put up seasonal decorations!!!
I’m not a good meal planner either. Also, I’m a huge procrastinator. And I make lots of good things, cuz I can follow an easy enough recipe, but I always forget what I made when the time comes to figure out what to make again. I don’t live on rotation meals. Lol
I did cottage pie, roast with potatoes, carrots, and mushroom gravy, and a roast sprinkled with almost 2T homemade taco seasoning (store bought is too strong) with a little beef stock in the bottom of the crock, shred it and had crunchy tacos, and homemade pizza tomorrow. That’s a good week, cuz that last couple I’ve cooked about once and it’s been fend for yourself.
It’s Sheppard’s pie made with beef cuz I spare the poor lambs (Sheppard’s pie) https://www.100daysofrealfood.com/recipe-irish-shepherds-pie/
I do a Sheppards pie version all the time. Hub’s loves it. I make mine with layer of ground beef mixed with cream of celery soup on bottom, next layer is corn/creamed corn/peas, then topped with mashed potatoes.
Um…Maryse?? Did I miss something? Why are you talking about “bum bum cream”???
*giggles*
Tee hee!!
No it’s a HUGELY popular body lotion (and all sorts of extras like lip balms etc) that smells amazing and works so well. You can buy it at Sephora or on Amazon (or other online places):
https://amzn.to/2J2ISWn
Wait….is it something to do with Amy’s *wink wink* “peanuts” and Bev’s “a$$”??
You guys are getting all kinds of kinky in here! *snort*
Your Sheppard’s pie sounds easier than mine Leslie, I’ll have to try that one.
Tasha, I like your shredded roast taco idea. I need to try that.
I think for tonight I will do a baked mac & cheese but to snaz it up (cuz I am a fancy pants – ha!) I will do a take on BLT and add some bacon, tomato & spinach. I’ve never added all those before (usually I just do broccoli or spinach) but it sounds yummy.
Tasha, the Shep Pie is super easy and very creamy and flavorful. My friend gave me the tip of adding the creamy soup to the ground beef. I’d prefer cream of mushroom, but hubs doesn’t like.
I’ll do that next time then. I like that recipe I posted, but it’s a pain chopping and sautéing (which is a joke, takes way longer than 3 min for softening. I prefer to boil or steam). The shredded roast I got from my Dad. It’s good just plain, withough any seasoning, but I thought I’d kick it up this time and it turned out really good.
Tasha!! That’s how my mom used to make it. I’ll see if I can make a keto version (I guess with mashed cauliflower instead). YUMM!!!
We’re very close, leave us alone.
So, I watched my show last night. I started it and then thought I’d rather watch in bed, but I got so engrossed I didnt want to move.
I used to do this with books and I miss that feeling. Like I am thirsty but ……and an hour or so later I’ll finally put the book down to get a drink.
Bev, pardon me. I would NEVER come between your *clears throat* “posterior region” and Amy’s “peanuts”. Please forgive me.
Ok, now it is getting too weird.
Lol.
I want some soft tacos.
LOL. I miss tacos. Steak tacos.
I love this site…where else can I feed my book addiction and get recipes and find out about Bum Bum cream?! Btw, I made the slow cooker pesto chicken recipe I saw on here a while back and you would have thought I had given my husband the best sex ever… he was absolutely and totally in love with that chicken 🙂 So thanks ladies…you made me look like a rockstar!
YAY MICHELLE G!! Now I gotta search the comments and find that recipe!!! Nothing better than feeding loved ones and making them so happy.
“SO rich and thick but sinks right in.”
*snorts hot tea through nose*
It’s startin’ to feel like the old days up in here…I love it!! 😛
Right Amy?? We are riled up this week!! 😛
Michele G…that recipe is so freaking tasty, right??
Bum Bum cream is AMAZING! It smells wonderful, and I’m already seeing results after only about a month of using it (a sweet friend introduced it to me). And you know what I found out? It is great on the back of the hands for those of us who *ahem* are showing their age there. After I put it on my “bum bum” and back of my legs, I rub some into my hands. My hands are actually looking more youthful! Nothing mind blowing but enough to where even hubby has noticed when he looks at my hands. 😀
And to continue the dirty vibe…

“Are you sure that this is how you want to do it?” ~ SUKI by CF Winn
It’s actually not dirty like it sounds. *giggle* But I am REALLY looking forward to this one. It’s pretty short, but the blurb…THAT is what a blurb should be. 😉
What is this SUKI by CF Winn that you speak of?
*runs to look it up*
I want to try bum bum cream…but for the love of all that is holy, can we call it something else?? It makes me think of diaper rash cream. 🙂
But…it’s fitting because you put it on your bum. *shrugs*
And and!! Leslie. Saying that name makes everyone laugh. You’ll never forget that cream. Genius marketing… silly name and I cringe when I tell them about it, but the giggle that arises from everyone is so worth it.
And then when they actually smell it… yup. Bum Bum cream. For your bum bum cheeks. And all your other skins. 😛
FLT: “My lungs sucked in air, bringing consciousness and chaos rushing back to me.” Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott. Again. Because…book hangover.
*blinks* I can see it for the back of my hands. They aren’t wrinkled yet, but I don’t want them to be!
Also, not a brag. My hands are constantly oily. It’s a give and take thing. 🙂
Did anyone read Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating?
This is the recipe Michelle G is talking about:
https://best-everrecipes.blogspot.com/2018/08/slow-cooker-pesto-mozzarella-chicken.html?m=1
And let me know what you think of the blurb for SUKI…tell me it doesn’t sound intriguing. 😉
Amy I am intrigued. How is the writing?
FLT:
“I don’t understand why he let her go.”
Scarlet Angel by S.T. Abby (this is part of the Mindf*ck series, 5 novellas of darkish romantic suspense, which I’m loving!)
AND
“My lungs sucked in air, bringing consciousness and chaos rushing back to me.”
Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott
This book is layers and layers of FABULOUS. I just finished it last night but it’s still affecting me this morning, so I added it as well. Everyone needs to read this powerful duet. Definitely will by on my favorites of the year list!
“Mr. President, they are all waiting for you.”
Close Liason by Anna Zaires
I saw it up there and the first was free and I thought, why not? MAN! It hooked me! 🙂
the last few hours here at work have been horrible, so I decided to come get caught up here and thank God I did. Reading all your posts got me *giggling* over here. You guys truly are the best! *hugs*
*runs away to look up bum bum cream*
And because I want to stay lost in Emma Scott’s World my…..
FLT:
“He was gentle as ever” Rush Emma Scott
Tasha, I just got Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating. I’ve been waiting for it through my library overdrive account. I haven’t read it yet though…
Tessa, Close Liason has been calling me…good to know you like it!
FLT:
“I race down the Grand Couloir, Courchevel, France.”
Rush by Emma Scott
Oh forgot to say…yes Amy the chicken is phenomenal! And the blurb is very intriguing!
Apparently Jenn and I chose different first lines from Rush …lol
Help me choose based on a first line.
#1: “Dark Desires (Dark Gothic Book 1)” by Eve Silver –
“A thick gray wall of fog hovered over the damp stones of Hanbury Street, carrying the stink of old blood and rotting entrails.”
#2 “The Looking Glass” by Janet McNally –
“HERE I AM, BAREFOOT ON a stool in the wardrobe room, trying as hard as I can to stay still.”
#3 “The Accident Season” by Moïra Fowley-Doyle –
“So let’s raise our glasses to the accident season, To the river beneath us where we sink our souls, To the bruises and secrets, to the ghosts in the ceiling, One more drink for the watery road.
When I heard Bea chant the words, it was as if little insects were crawling in under my spine, ready to change it.”
#4 “Vengeful (Villains Book 2)” by V. E. Schwab –
“THE night Marcella died, she made her husband’s favorite dinner.”
I’m wanting #2 and #4 bev.
The Accident Season
*puts up older-looking hand to a youthful Tessa*
bev…I’m torn between #2 and #3. One sounds suspenseful, but the other one sounds intriguing because of the writing. *shrug* How about #3?
Maryse…too soon to say about the writing, although it is VERY unique. I had to re-read the prologue a couple of times before it somewhat started to make sense, and even now I am hoping it will be clarified by the end. The POV is completely…different. That is the only way I can describe it. If I tried to put it in words, I would muck it up. Fingers crossed for this one!
bev–#4 Definitely!
If there’s anyone besides me who hasn’t read it yet, Preppy by T.M. Frazier is FREE on Amazon.
Bev, they all sound interesting…I would go with #2.
Ooh bev. they all sound a bit creepy *shivers* Maybe #2???
Tasha I read and liked Josh and Hazels Guide and liked but didn’t *love* The h is goofy and cute and the H is a hot Korean American. It’s a fairly light and sweet read if you’re in the mood for that. Nothing like their fabulous Beautiful series though 🙁
FLT:
Emily stood by the door with her breath caught in her throat, and her heart shattered all over again. from Surrender to Ruin by Carolyn Jewel. HR (Duh. It’s Jan)
It seems like 2 has the most votes.
It looks good. Heroine is a ballerina with a missing sister. When the sister goes missing signs of her sister and their favorite fairy tales start appearing everywhere. And of course a mysterious guy, lol.
Duh, It’s Jan is kind of catchy.
Bev: Hey Jan want to watch a k drama?
Jan: Duh, It’s Jan.
Have to check out this Bum Bum cream and the recipes. I’m with you Tasha, I’m not a good meal planner, I’m more a spur of the moment what am I in the mood for cook. I have been trying to do a crock pot meal at least once a week.
Bev, i vote for #2.
FLT:
“My lungs sucked in air, bringing consciousness and chaos rushing back to me.” Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott. I just finished this book. Loved everything about both books. Also loving the covers.

FYI, I loved Close Liaisons. I need the next book but am waiting for all pre-orders to go through before buying it.
Amy, you have me looking suspiciously at my hands all day long. lol
