It’s that time again! I’ve received a bunch of awesome reader questions and have selected a few that I think many of us might be wondering about.
Q: Katie: I read the dream man Dream Man series – LOVED LOVED LOVED and have moved on to the Chaos series – LOVE LOVE LOVE but i know im coming to the end…. i really like Kristen’s style and want to go on to another of her series. rock chick or another one? let me know what you think!
A: One of my FAVORITE series by Kristen Ashley is the Colorado Mountain Series. You will LOVE IT!!! (Check out my review of book #1 – Sweet Dreams – to give you an idea). 😉 Don’t let those “sweet & serene/homey” covers fool you. The guys in here are mega-alphas, super-bad-ass bikers, HOT, no-nonsense and demanding and the stories and heroines are exactly what we connect to.
Q: Chris: When is Benny and Frankies book coming out???? Anyone know?
A: Kristen Ashley mentioned she was finishing a book in her Fantasyland series first, and would then move onto Benny and Frankie (from her “The Crime (The ‘Burg) Series“). She says:
“I’m getting my teeth into the next in my Fantasyland Series, Apollo and Ilsa’s story, and I hope to announce a release date soon! ….
Frankie and Benny will be up first and if I can squeeze them in. They’re currently scheduled to be set loose in late 2013. I know, I know… it seems like forever.”
No release date yet, but here is the synopsis (from Goodreads) and I am SO on this once it’s released. Already has plenty of angst going for it!:
In At Peace, Benny took his cousin Cal’s back. And so did Benny’s dead brother’s girlfriend, Francesca. Since his brother’s death, Benny has been nursing his grudge against the woman he thinks led to his brother’s downfall. And he does this to bury the feelings he has for Frankie, feelings that ride alongside guilt at the unmistakable pull he feels from his brother’s girl. But when Frankie takes a bullet while on the run with Cal’s woman Vi, Benny has to face his feelings. The problem is, Frankie has decided she’s done her penance to Benny and his family. Penance she didn’t deserve to pay. She’s done with Benny and the Biancihi family. She’s starting a new life away from Chicago and her heartbreaking history.
But Frankie’s new life leads her to The ‘Burg, where Benny has ties and she finds she hasn’t quite succeeded in getting away
Q: Sheree: I would love to know when Unattainable by Madeline Sheehan, Leather and Sand by Jayna Vixen and Salvation from the Captive Series will be released any idea?
A: Leather and Sand (Riding the Line Series) by Jayna Vixen is out now! So is Salvation (The Captive Series Book 4) by Erica Stevens and Madeline Sheehan’s upcoming book “Unattainable” (from her awesome biker/motorcycle club series —> “Undeniable“) will be October 1st 2013! She said:
EARLY! UNATTAINABLE! Yes, I said that!
Your new release date for UnAttainable (Undeniable #3 — The stories of Cage & Tegen and Dirty & Ellie)
Will be released on…………..
OCTOBER F$%#ING FIRST! (October, 1, 2013)
Yep.
It will be about Cage and Tegen & Dirty and Ellie. Here are a few teasers and excerpts to keep you company in the meantime. 😉
Q: Penny: Today I received a facebook message saying that Book Bash 2014 was to be held the last weekend in June in Orlando. Desperate for information. Couldn’t find info on Eventbrite or BookBash.net. Is there any truth to this? Is the Doubletree the venue or has a different location been chosen. Will make my reservation today and buy event tickets. Thanks.
A: Hi Penny! Yes we are planning on the last weekend in June for 2014, and highly likely that it will be at the Doubletree again. We will announce when the tickets go on sale and all of the hotel information/reservations online. I suggest “liking” the Book Bash Facebook page to keep updated (and of course, checking back with the main website.
Q: Stephanie: “Maryse, will there be more books in this series?” (about Jade C. Jamison’s “Bullet” series)
A: Yep! Rock Bottom (Bullet) has just recently been released, and “Feverish” (Bullet #3) is expected to be release December 2013
Q: Victoria: Please Let me know if you hear any blips, blurps, what-haves about book 2 The Secret Life of Amy Bensen “Infinite Possibilities”
A: Sure!!! After what I hear, was, a CRAZY cliffhanger in book #1 (Escaping Reality (New Adult contemporary Romance) (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen)) there is relief in site! Infinite Possibilities (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen #2) is expected to be released in October 2013! That’s soon!! 😀 Author Lisa Renee Jones “Facebooked” this answer:
“I am working on it now… it will be late October before it is released.”
Q: Missy: How does this loaning books on kindles work? I see it going on and have a lot I would be willing to loan and some I’d like to borrow:). How long do you get to borrow them for?
A: Jami answered (thanks Jami!!):
- You sign into your Amazon account.
- The drop down under your account name click “manage your kindle”.
- On the right side of the screen you will see an actions button. Click that and chose your option and follow.
- Books can be loaned for 14 days but you only have a few days to accept loaned item. Hope that helps.
- and Jillian adds: Also, a book can only be loaned out once.
Q: Ami: I’ve read Axel and I totally loved it! But since I have yet to read the Breakneck series, I’m slightly worried that I would get some spoilers if I continue to read Cage. Should I just read ‘Seize Me (Breakneck Series)’ first before starting on Cage, or should I just continue on to Cage? Do any of you guys know?
and Tori also wanted to know: Maryse – I know that Cage and the second Breakneck book have a bit of a crossover and I was wondering if it mattered which was read first? Since I’m a fan of both series, I didn’t want to accidentally spoil one book by reading them in the incorrect order. Do you know?
A: Since the author of the Breakneck series (Crystal Spears) and the Corps Security series (Harper Sloan) are friends, they had a little “crossover fun”, (clever!) but perhaps a little confusing. So here are some answers that I’ve gathered that might help!
The author of the Breakneck series originally announced:
“I don’t know if you’ve seen the news or not – but I’m excited to announce that Harper Sloan – Author of Axel, and I will be doing a crossover. For those who have not yet read both series – her character Greg Cage will enlist Braxxon Breaker for some not so legal help in her next novel ‘Cage’ and my next novel ‘Withstanding Me’. ;)”
and “K” answers:
ANSWER: “… you should read Cage first as he calls in Braxxon to help with his issue. If you read Withstanding Me first, you’d know what was coming in Cage. There’s no Withstanding Me plot revealed in Cage.”
Q: Clarissa: Just finished Revealing Us (Inside Out Trilogy) and I’m totally confused because it seems sorta unfinished. Is there going to be a spin off? Or more books in the series?
A: It appears that the Inside Out Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones has been extended to more books. She was planning on the extra books to be spinoffs, but has decided to continue under the same series name. The author answers here (on her blog) saying:
“Some of you have ask about the word ‘trilogy’ but you also all see that there is much more to come, and you’ve expressed the idea of not knowing what happens to Mark, Ava, Chris, Sara, and even Rebecca, is not a good one…
…
… I don’t plan to leave any of them ( or you) hanging. I’d planned more books from the day I outlined the series but to spin them off into another series. With the TV stuff and the connected characters staying so interwoven though that just made no sense the change the series name. So the stories continue as I’d always planned and with the same series name.
#4 is in Sara’s POV and #5 is in Mark’s POV. Another reason I originally called it a “trilogy” was I planned to make 4 and 5 in Mark’s POV. I wanted that shift to be clear. However as I wrote #3 I decided #4 has to be in Sara’s POV. There are just too many things to do with her and Chris we still need to visit. These characters are so alive they make decisions for me and I think many of you would be upset with me if you didn’t get to see the final pages of Chris and Sara from inside their relationship. There will be lots of Mark though in #4 as it was originally planned in his POV.”
Ella is a completely new trilogy that will be a completely new storyline.
Q: Kylie: Hi Maryse! I have a “what’s the name of the book” question… … It was about a guy who was a male stripper, and after an embarrassing encounter with a penis pump (that’s what it said! Something like that you don’t forget easily!) he was unable to work for a few weeks. His female friend kept him company and it mentioned them playing video games on the couch. … Do you or any have any idea what the title is?
A: LOL!! Yep I sure do!! It’s Drop Everything Now by Alessandra Thomas. I hope that helps! (and yep… that part of the synopsis got me, too). 😉
Q: Haroun: i finished Affliction after its week of release, do u know when book 23 releases? Laurell K Hamiltion of the Anita Blake series. I meant the book 22 is Affliction but finished that, what do you know of #23?
A: Not sure when official book #23 will be out just yet, however I know she JUST released a novella Dancing: An Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Novella (book #22.5) a couple of days ago.
Q: Terri: Did I read she has another Meredith Gentry coming out?
A: Yep! More Merry Gentry on the way (officially). Laurell K Hamilton blogged about it, saying: ” I’m writing on the new Merry Gentry, A Shiver of LIght which will be out summer 2014,”
Q: J: Does the app that you have on the IPAD allow you to categorize (like by author )? Also, it appears that you can move things around to organize your TBR list?
A: YAY!! I finally have a proper answer for this, but I have yet to try it out (’cause I’m updating my iPad as we speak). The Kindle app for Apple users has been updated! Here is my news release for more info.
Q: Rhonda: I need ur help with a release date please. It is Amelia Hutchins second book Taunting Destiny. I cant find a solid date so if u have any info i would appreciate it.
A: You’re in luck, Rhonda. It has JUST been released!! —> Destiny (The Fae Chronicles)
This made me squeal out loud!!! (Both my dogs looked at me like WTF?) I thought for sure she had abandoned the series!!
Q: Terri: Did I read she has another Meredith Gentry coming out?
A: Yep! More Merry Gentry on the way (officially). Laurell K Hamilton blogged about it, saying: “ I’m writing on the new Merry Gentry, A Shiver of LIght which will be out summer 2014,”
*giddy*
It’s been YEARS I’ve been getting that question. 😉 I’m happy she got “official” about it.
So excited about Unattainable!!! There are NO OTHER BOOKS like those by Madeline Sheehan!!! Yippee!!
So I’m in the dentist office reading your post when I see that Unattainable will be released Oct 1. I was so excited that I yelled out “YEAH” and then did an air fist bump as if I had just spontaneously orgasmed or something. I then realized where I was at and that people were looking at me, so I then had to open my mouth yet again and said “Oh, God” which made it so much worse. I seriously need to quit reading your posts in public. But….thanks for the spontaneous orgasm. The dentist office has never been so much fun. Lol.
Glad to help keep your mind off of dentists. 😉
I agree with all of y’all… love Madeline Sheehan’s bikers. Now THAT is *oomph*!
Another important thing re: kindle book lending is that only some books are “lendable”. It all depends on the publisher. You can find out whether a book is lendable in the Product Details section. One of the categories is Lending, and then next to that it will either day Enabled, or Not Enabled. Sharing books is great!
I love love Salvation by Erica Stevens! Amazing YA romance/fantasy. Also I loved Undeniable so much! I’m just sad not all the sequels are out yet!
