Okay so that’s more like “What Kindle does Maryse have?” but that just sounds weird saying it like that, so I’m answering this question, and then opening it to all of you guys (and what you read on).
Lisa asks:
Hi!
Happy New Year!
I was wondering if you tried the Kindle Oasis yet?
Another question I have is if you find you have to purchase a ton of books that are not included in Kindle Unlimited?
As you can guess, I am trying to figure out what to purchase! I still have a Nook, chichis crazy, considering books are so expensive, and most of yours recs aren’t available to me.
I guess I am always waiting for the perfect ereader to be made!
Have a great 2022!!!
I actually have a recent Kindle Paperwhite (waterproof) and I LOVE IT. I used to read in the bath and in my pool, so this makes it that I don’t have to put it in a waterproof pouch (where my old one would overheat in it). Though… I do still hit myself on the head with it when I fall asleep on my back, reading… 😂
I have loaded it with both Kindle Unlimited books AND books that aren’t in the KU program. There seems to be no limit for what fits in mine at least, and I just pick and choose not so much on price but on what GETS me (synopsis wise). My blurb-jolts. 😉
It sure is fun though, being able to buy any book that has been released (or “borrow” any book in the KU system). LOVING IT!

I have had a Kindle Oasis for at least 5 or 6 years and really love it. I also own 2 kindle paper whites and I picked up another oasis a while back when they had a really good sale. Being without one makes me start to panic. I am not the type of person who has my library on my tablet. I like having my books separate. They are mine and nobody’s business.
This comes from having my bookcases on display in high school and college and people going thru my books and asking to borrow them. Some did not ask and some did not bring them back. I also had my books arranged a certain way and always had to rearrange when they left.
I have accidentally dropped my oasis in water a couple of times and grabbed it fast and everything was ok. What I don’t like is Kindle doing updates. Doesn’t happen often but the last one pissed me off. Not going into each change.
I consider my kindle and the books I buy my property and the last update changed and rearranged many of my books that I had arranged on my kindle. Like I explained to the kindle service representative it would be like me breaking into your home and rearranging your books on your bookshelves without your permission. Will get off my rant.
I love my OASIS. (Just not happy with kindle right now but will get over) I have always had good luck with their service and if they couldn’t help me they always got back to me with the answer.
Sandi: I used to have a kindle keyboard but now I read on the kindle app on my phone and iPad. What I do is I keep adding books to my Amazon wish list. I have maybe 300 books on there. About once a week I sort them by price, low to high, so I can see which ones have had a reduction in price. I often get books for free or $.99. I sometimes get kindle unlimited as a trial for 3 months, I’ve done that 3 times over the years it has been around, when I go to cancel, they usually offer 6 months at $29.99. I hope this helps
Susan: I have a Nook tablet but really don’t use it anymore. I now use my iPad with the Nook and kindle app loaded on it and have full access to my libraries.
Kim: I have the Kindle paperwhite but I also use my iPad
Shar: iPad with the Kindle ap
Maryse: That used to be mine, too!!
Vanessa: Paperwhite and iPad Mini with Kindle app.
Michelle: Kindle Fire
Samantha: Kindle eReader, HDX, Kindle Fire 7, 8 and 10. Favorite is Samsung Galaxy tablet.
Alice: I also have the waterproof Paperwhite which I absolutely love. I do use my iPad occasionally when I read from “your cloud“ library because it does not go to Kindle, But they have a lot of great books including audios.
Maria: I have the Kindle Keyboard – Kindle Touch – First Kindle Fire – Kindle Fire HD – Kindle Paperwhite … they all still work. My go to for audio is my HD .. my beach/lake go to is my touch because I’m not worried about sand with it- Paperwhite all other times lol
Mary Ann: I started with a Nook. Moved to Kindle Fire and loved it. Got an used paperwhite and don’t like it. I now have the Kindle 10 and other then the size i love it.
Patti: I have the Kindle Oasis (love it this one is my second) and I have a mini iPad I use with the Kindle app
Deb: Mini iPad with Kindle app
Nicole: Over the years I’ve had the Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Touch, Kindle Fire, and now I am currently using the Kindle Oasis. I was hesitant about it at the beginning because of the shape with a big border on the side. I looove it! It’s perfect for one handed holding. I also love the waterproof feature.
Allison: I’m on my 2nd or 3rd Paperwhite. I love the screens paper like quality. I do read on the Kindle app on my phone but I prefer the kindle.
Patti: Paperwhite. I also read via the Kindle app on my iPhone.
