J.R. Ward – Fallen Angels Series Reading Order

in J.R. Ward, Reading Order Guide:

I am loving this series so far. Exciting, sexy, and gripping, each book focuses on a couple of characters, but the series, as a whole, forges ahead with a more intricate, deeper story. Oh and, some of her Black Dagger Brotherhood characters have made cameos, and some may even play a larger part, in this series.

Three fallen angels (“bad-boy” types on the outside, but overall, good on the inside) tasked to assist the heavens in the fight between good and evil. Each new installment focuses on one of the 7 deadly sins. As they find the “lost” human and assist them in solving a life problem (and hopefully choosing light over darkness), the angels too, learn some very important and very personal lessons. But the author warns us… good doesn’t always win in this series. I loved the first two books! The intensity, the danger, the romance, it’s all there. Along with the developing camaraderie between the angels, and the surprise twists as the series progresses , you’ll be in for an emotionally charged read.

About the series:

Seven deadly sins. Seven souls to save. This is the first battle between a savior who doesn’t believe and a demon with nothing to lose!

Ooooooh! a Cover! I didn’t know that there was a cover!!! So this is going to be Veck’s book, right… Although I still love Adrian and Jim… oh, and Eddy, too.

These are VERY different than BDB… but I kinda like that!

Maryse April 9, 2011 at 8:50 AM

Yup, I think it will be. I can’t wait. I’m so wondering about Jim and his obsession with that girl. Where’s that gonna go?

And if you scroll lower on my main page, you’ll see a much larger version of the cover. It truly is gorgeous.

I just finished reading ENVY. She finally dives more into the archangels in heaven. I thoroughly loved it…but…TEARS…and more TEARS!! I will say no more. It’s definately on my list to read twice…just like all the rest of J.R.’s books!

I just finished Envy ohhhhhhhhh please bring the big boy back, this was amazing. Between the Black brotherhood Series and the fallen Angel Series i have never laughed and cried so much at the same time. Absolutely the most amazing 2 series around.

Just got an update from amazon! Next book is called Rapture and its release date is September 25! No blurb or cover yet though :(

There is a fourth book in her Angel series? I read the first one and didn’t get into it as much as I’d hoped. So ever since I’ve avoided reading the rest of the Angel Series. I love her BDB series and these Angel books are SO different.
Do they get better after the first one?

Maryse September 25, 2012 at 2:22 PM

I like them… not to the *squee* extent that I’ve loved her BDB guys, but these have an interesting ongoing story and a bit creepy… and very steamy!

Tina September 25, 2012 at 2:28 PM

The 4th book, Rapture just came out today. I’m actually reading it right now. They’re different from BDB but similar in a lot of ways also. They do get better after the first but they have the multiple storyline, subplots and POVs like the brotherhood books so you really have to read them in order and try not to skim much. Personally JR can do no wrong with me. Dark Lover got me hooked on PR. While nothing compares to the BDB series for me these are worth reading.

Is there any way to find out when book 5 of the Fallen Angels series is coming out. I checked her home page and there is no information and the message board is closed down. I wonder how to contact her
Love the series!

Cheryl April 3, 2013 at 3:49 AM

Hi Raven, from what I can gather the kindle edition of the fallen angels series ‘Possession’ will be out in September. I’ve already pre-ordered it and can’t wait! :-)

shelli June 21, 2013 at 4:42 PM

Will there be more books in this series?

BJ June 21, 2013 at 6:09 PM

Hi I read the first fallen angel book and it was hard to get into but I stayed with it. I’m glad I did because the second was much better. I love both series now. I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long between books. Oh we’ll it gives me something to look forward to :)

I just finished possession … I do love this series … Can’t wait for the next book in this series …
Is there any idea of when it might be coming …

Tina December 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM

They usually come out in September, Dana. Possession was just released so it’s going to be a year till the next one. :-(

Do you have to read them in order?

Maryse May 10, 2014 at 9:18 PM

Yericka May 27, 2014 at 7:08 PM

I’m new to the BDB & Fallen Angels books, I’m a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyons DH, The League & Nicks Chronicles… I guess I’m just wondering are these books (BDB & Fallen Angels) really good? I’m a sucker for fiction & romanc…

Tina Murphy May 28, 2014 at 8:37 AM

The BDB series is one of the BEST I’ve ever read. Full of pop culture references, steamy scenes and action. J.R. Ward, like Sherrilyn Kenyon creates an interesting pantheon also.
I haven’t caught up on the Fallen Angel series as it is so different from her other series.
Have you read Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Angela Knight, Lynn Viehl, Marjorie M. Liu, Meljean Brook or Karen Marie Moning? All are at the same or greater level as Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Heather June 15, 2016 at 1:51 AM

I have all the BDB and Fallen Angels books and I’m wondering if I can read through the BDB and then start the Fallen Angels or will I miss stuff and then be confused in the BDB books?
