Whispers and the Roars
I one-clicked this one immediately on that blurb alone. Absolutely up my alley, and I can say that this author seems to venture into that murky-creepy-fascinating territory that I tend to gravitate to. I love exploring personal darkness, whether it be emotionally innate or environmentally influenced… or even just a bad-guy psych-thriller. My curiosity as to how these subjects will be explored, and how cleverly they will twist and astonish (and give me an adrenaline rush) keeps me hooked on this genre.

Book Review – Black Swan Affair by K.L. Kreig
Black Swan Affair
I had been seeing early excitement over the release of this book, and when I finally looked it up and read the synopsis, I was THRILLED! It gave me and ultimate “blurb-jolt”. Promising pure intense marital (and family!!) drama. OMG that blurb says it all! Plus a potential love triangle to end all love triangles. That, coupled with the reader reactions and skimming LIGHTLY over reviews (I’m always afraid of spoilers), and I knew that I had to read it right away!
Book Review – Pretty Stolen Dolls by Ker Dukey & K. Webster
Pretty Stolen Dolls
<— WHAT A CRAZY BLURB. This is what a psych-trhiller teaser is made of, and OMG I moved it right up my TBR list to be next in line. I had to find out more!
Amy: “Daddy always told us to be careful.” ~ Pretty Stolen Dolls by Ker Dukey. Um, Maryse? Didn’t you click this one? Yeah, you gotta read it. I can’t say it’s a 5 star (who knows, maybe that will change?) but I am flying through it right now and loving it!”
Yeah. 😀 Amy’s my fellow psych-thriller, intense angst, crazy-twist lover.
Book Review – Live For This by Kathryn R. Biel
Live For This
Definitely a great fit for the “What to Read After Me Before You” list!! Thanks to those of you that recommended this.
I was in the mood for a sweet friendship/potential love story between someone coping with a disability and someone taking life for granted and this one certainly had all of that!
Jeanie: Loved Live For This
Ann-Theres: i recently read Live For This, by Kathryn R.Biel!! The plot is kind of the same, but has a good twist also…
Tracey: Live For This which was a rather couldn’t and wouldn’t put it down 4 star (It even came along to do the school run with me).
Book Review – Killing the Sun Part 1 by Mara White & K. Larsen
Killing The Sun: Part 1 (COMING OUT ON TUESDAY!!!)
MAFIA ROMANCE (DARK ROMANCE?) LOVERS!!! Guess what? I went ahead and taste-tested the first part of a new serial (a little over 100 pages) coming out in just a few days. Three parts in all, each one super-bargain priced, and not much of a wait between each installment.
I enjoyed it! I experienced a touch of thrill, as I “lived in” a relationship with a potentially dangerous man (via the newly opened eyes of his girlfriend). Sure, it ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but it doesn’t have that killer-edge that serials like to torture us with, so I’m feeling… comfortable. While it wasn’t necessarily unputdownable, and the ending didn’t make my jaw drop, I was still intrigued by where it was going. It’s a quick read for a little psycho-thrill reading break.
