Following my heart, one book at a time...
On Dublin Street
Did you see that? My TBR list… shifting yet again. And this time is a first, because I have just heard about this book for the first time today, (FIVE times today, actually), and it literally moved EVERYTHING down a notch. After two mentions of it this morning, I decided I’d move it to my “next weekend” read, after I finished the one I’m reading right now, and a series I’ve been anxious to get to.
Yvette: have you read On Dublin street? I think you would love it!
Butterfly Tattoo
After finishing the EIT series, last week, I went into kind of a mini book-funk. I was on a role with that one, but now I must wait until more are released. *sigh* I need to snap out of it, finish my review for book #5 and get reading.
So I did! I have some very nice prospects on my current TBR list, and this is one that definitely pulled me out of my “paranormal” world and back into contemporary. Remember when I included in my TBR blog post a few weeks ago? It came HIGHLY recommended by my friend Gitte, and she said it made her cry. Now I know she’s an “easy crier” (hehe), but I’m always game for a go at book-tears!
While I’ve been asked on occasion for my TBR list, I’ve never felt comfortable publishing it, as it fluctuates like crazy. I’ll have 3 or 4 books lined up for my upcoming reads, and then I receive an adamant recommendation or two and the whole list shifts!
I brought up this issue on Facebook:
Maryse’s Book Blog: What am I gonna doooooo? I feel like I have 100 books at my #1 spot in my TBR list… My reading list keeps changing, growing, expanding, fluctuating, repositioning itself. ACK! It’s as if it’s become it’s own living breathing thing!! Ahhhh well. Can’t complain. I just gotta go with the flow. 😉
This is my list of the books I’ve read this year, to help me keep track. I read 110 in 2011. Let’s see if I can beat it!
(P.S. I’ll leave quick summary/feeling notes next to the ones I haven’t reviewed yet. I do intend on reviewing the majority of ’em. In fact, reviews for ALL of them would be great!)
Breaking Free by Cherise Sinclair – abused woman in hiding from her “Master” husband meets a new “Master” who works to ease her back into trusting, again. (Good!! If you’re into reading that sort of thing ;). Review to come – 4 stars An Unlikely Pair by Carla Krae (short story – two high school students/neighbors become friends. She’s shy, he’s the high school rock star. She crushes… he treats her like a kid sister). Quite good – I wanted to go on to book #2 however reviews are really *iffy* about it. Callum & Harper by Fisher Amelie (I didn’t love this as much as other readers say they did, unfortunately. It had it’s good moments and so much potential but had too many moments that had me more irritated then anything. Too much drama for the sake of drama, unbelievable life circumstances, much too far-fetched for me to accept it. — 2 stars) Gateway to Heaven (reviewed) Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout (reviewed) Willing Victim by Cara McKenna (reviewed) Wild Man by Kristen Ashley (reviewed) Lothaire by Kresley Cole (reviewed)Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three of the Fifty Shades Trilogy
Strangers: Ellora’s Cave
Despite my “wonky work week” (which will actually be stretching into two wonky work weeks by the looks of it), I have still been reading. Never fear!! Wonky works weeks don’t mean I’ll be missing in action or anything (just a bit more erratic then usual 😉 ) . In all actuality, my “overtime” weeks find me reading the most as I desperately need a book to help me unwind.
Now of course, I’m not racing through the books like I normally do, but I’m happily reading one right now that I just started and will probably finish tonight (if it’s good enough, that is, to keep me up late).
