By 6 Comments

Florence is looking for this one and she gave it to me short and sweet! In fact, I think she just gave me the perfect title for the post! 😛

She asks:

The book about the heroine, daughter of a duke who was sent to find a healer in a monastery to help save her brother’s vineyards

Anyone have a guess?

Charlie: It is No Sweeter Heaven (The Pascal Trilogy Book 2) by Katherine Kingsley. The 2nd in the group. All great books. Hope that helps.

Maryse: YAY!!! I just messaged Florence to let her know. Thank you SO much, Charlie!!! read more

Elizabeth Hoyt – Maiden Lane Series Reading Order

By 1 Comment

HISTORICAL ROMANCE LOVERS you probably already know about this complete series, but in case you’re looking for something new (or new-to-me) and haven’t read this, it comes highly recommended!!! 😀

bev: Duke of Sin by Elizabeth Hoyt …her Maiden Lane series. I’ve been reading them recently totally out of order, just by what story catches my interest. In this the hero has been the villain in past books. He is a bit deranged and very fun. I guess she based him a big off of Loki. These are fun HR books. I like that not all her characters are aristocratic like in a lot of HR. The hero is a duke but the h is a housekeeper. read more

Reader Question… Solved! The book about the heroine that doesn’t realize she’s in an arranged marriage…

By 7 Comments

Barbara is looking for this one!! Oooooh THIS one sounds good and infuriating!!! I haven’t read much historical romance in my reading life, but perhaps you know this one?

She asks:

Hi!

I forgot the name of a book, it’s historical romance, I don’t know if you guys read a lot of HR around here, but I hope you can help me!

It’s about an arranged marriage that the heroine doesn’t know it’s arranged, so she innocently thinks the hero is in love with her and it was a love match … So she is very sweet to the hero at first, but when she finds out the truth, she changes her attitude towards him, continuing the marriage out of duty. He sees the change in her and starts missing his passionate wife and wants to make up. read more

Book Review – Carry the World by Susan Fanetti

Carry the World

This one passed just under my radar not too long ago, until some in our book-crew touted it as their “Best of May”. Admittedly, the cover didn’t quite catch my eye (even though I KNOW this author is much loved by many in our indie-romance world – especially her biker books). It was on my “new release” list, yet somehow I missed it for my own TBR list. Was it the cover? The “historical romance” aspect (which isn’t normal “my thing”)? I dunno, but OMG this one needs to be highlighted and I AM SO thankful to my book-buds for highlighting it for me!! read more

Reader Question – The book about the healer-heroine that finds a wounded warrior in the forest…

By 11 Comments

Jade needs our book help! Oh I love books about outcasts that find love… *my heart*

She asks:

I read an ebook several years ago about a heroine being a healer to a wounded warrior. It may have been a highland book I’m not sure.
The heroine lives under the watchful eye, and a captor or sorts, of some ruler of a castle. She is a healer but being this is despised and frowned upon. The was talk by her grandmother.

She goes in the woods/forest often to find plants and herbs for poultices/remedies/medcine. The castle/area where she lives is in a long time war/battle with another village/castle/people. read more
