<— KIDNAPPED & HELD CAPTIVE WITH HER SISTER’S FIANCÉ ALERT!! HOLY MOLY THIS BOOK BLEW MY MIND and now there is a book #3?? IT JUST WENT LIVE?? I didn’t even realize this was part of a series (I just knew our fellow readers were crazy for other books in her repertoire), but the fact that the author mentions that we should read Still Beating & Lotus first, clues me into the fact that we’re going full circle, or revisiting certain characters and I AM SO EXCITED!!!
psychological thriller
We can choose 2 for Amazon First Reads – October 2023 – and guess what I chose?

“…It’s senior-year spring break, and Noelle Meyer and Evan Sinclair have been kidnapped. Neither knows why they were chosen, only that they share a tragic past: Evan’s father got away with killing Noelle’s mother, effectively ruining her family when the death was ruled an accident.
Book Review – A Twisted Love Story by Samantha Downing
A Twisted Love Story <— With a title and cover like that, this book just SCREAMED for me to read it. I’m 100% into unconventional (and even downright dark or obsessive or just plain awful, and yet in its own way – wonderful – love stories) that I was sure this was gonna be something on that level. The minute I saw it, I one-clicked it (paid full price and everything!!).
I had already heard of this author’s other books that my fellow readers loved, so that was just icing on the cake.
Amazon Original Stories presents “Creature Feature – Spooky tales to keep you up all night”
OH MY!!! HORROR LOVERS, REJOICE!! Just in time for Halloween, and this series of short scary stories has just been released. And it’s made up of popular horror writers. YAY US!!
Ever since I read “The Lottery” back in my college days, I was hooked on that short story potential. That one rocked my world, and the ending shocked me, so I’m always hoping a short story can give me that *ooooomph* again.
P.S. I’m gonna read each one of these… right now!!! I will spend the day, and maybe even the evening reading tonight, and hopefully, these will keep me fully entertained. YAY ME!!!! 😀 I’ll let you know what I think as I read ’em. Mini reviews, since these are mini books. 😉
Book Review – An Honest Lie by Tarryn Fisher
An Honest Lie <— This one was a solid slow burn of a thriller, with a twist on the villain (or should I say… villains?). 😉
What I especially enjoyed was the little reveal about 10% into the story, that I was not expecting at all. It had me even more excited to read it, and we get to re-live it, throughout the book (past and present) with the heroine. It’s a nightmare situation (at least, to me it is) and totally my book catnip. I am hooked on books with this trope. You’ll see. 😉
