H. D. Carlton – Cat and Mouse Duet
<— BOOK FOG ALERT!!!! I just received the most amazing recommendation and had to post this awesome sounding duet!!
Michelle LOVED IT!
Hi, Maryse! 😊
I have been following your blook blog since I was in high school (so almost 10-ish years now), and there’s always a bit of nostalgia every time I check back in to see what reads you have to recommend.
There’s a bit of ebb and flow when it comes to making time for new reads. I finally picked up a book in what feels like forever, and my goodness, do I have a recommendation for you.
Reader Question – The book about the sisters that lived with their grandpa and lived off of cake until he died.
Kesi is looking for the title of this one! Oooooooh!! SUPER-SPOILER ALERT at the end, but wow I love the sound of this psych-thriller!!!!
(I put a bunch of spoiler alerts before the reveal). This one sounds right up my alley. I kinda hate that I now know the ending, but still sounds pretty great!!

Reader Recommendations – Barbaric suspenseful thrillers and super dark reads (maybe even with revenge)…
Who’s in the mood for some seriously dark “dark reads”? Maybe with some love stories mixed in (<— notice I did not say “romance” – cause that’s an entirely different genre) but, you know… some really messed up stuff in the process. 🙂
Sonia asked for some recommendations, “in the spirit of Halloween”, but come on. We know we read these all year long. Tee hee!
Hi guys,
Today I’m here for a thriller request. Something dark, barbaric, morbid.
Book Review – Beautiful Savage by Lisa Sorbe
5 HUGE STARS for this one!!! The writing is incredible and the story flowed perfectly. I one-clicked it a year ago ’cause of the crazy blurb jolt it gave me, and lost it in my “sea of books” until the author emailed me last week. And I AM SO THANKFUL. I was wholeheartedly entertained and appalled, and swooning throughout.
It kept me hooked from the very start, sucked me in, and spit me right back out when I hit the end of the book. And WHAT AN ENDING IT WAS!! HOLY MOLY. The heroine (or should I say villain? <— Yes… for sure that), was intense, devious, conniving, snarky, funny… but also so vulnerable at times, it HURT.
