Book Review – The Push by Ashley Audrain

The Push: A GMA Book Club Pick: A Novel <— 5-STARS OF HOLY MOLY —> EXACTLY UP MY DOMESTIC-THRILLER ALLEY!!!! Wow… what a writer. I loved every single introspection, every observation, every hesitation, and despite some bone-headed moves (and misunderstandings) it had me hooked! I did not devour it in one sitting, but boy did I want to, and that, to me is the mark of a book I’ll never forget.

Book Review – The Helper by M. M. Dewil

The Helper <— I couldn’t resist one clicking this one. Cover… appealing, title… intriguing, and OMG!!!! WHAT. A. BLURB. JOLT!!!!! I was SO IN.

I mean, who could resist a down on her luck, single mom (recently out of a financially and emotionally abusive marriage), struggling to keep custody of her daughter due to poverty circumstances and being offered a unique job. I was already in, for that – I love a good hardback story turned into a success story!!

But… what could she possibly be hired for that was so outrageous? What was going to turn her life upside down?? I wanted to go on that ride with her SO bad and so… I did. read more

Book Review – Imaginary Strangers by Minka Kent

Oooooh I love a good domestic thriller that involves a sociopathic heroine and I was captured by this one right from the very start! AND I love this author’s writing style. But even more fascinating was the creeeeepy thing that was happening to her, directly through her young daughter. And yep, creepy kids is my psych-thriller catnip too!! So I had BOTH!!! BLURB JOLT! YAY ME!!!

I learned sociopaths are not necessarily what we expect it to be (psycho-scary, or dangerous). I’m supposing that would be more along the lines of psychopaths. I’ve learned a ton about sociopaths from this book as the heroine learned about herself, through therapy. Fascinating! read more

Book Review – The Unraveling by Vi Keeland

The Unraveling <— Welp. This one was right up my stalker-loving alley. *ahem* In booooooks!!! Only and always only in books!! I don’t like ’em in real life but boy do I sure love that scary-creep factor of someone obsessed. 😜 When I read the psych-thriller premise of this one, I was all in.

So what’s it about?

I don’t want to say too much, ’cause the blurb is absolutely perfect. It says just enough (and it’s exactly correct) while allowing the reader to experience the reveals as they come, and there are quite a few! read more

Zoje Stage – Baby Teeth Series Reading Order

PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT!!! To be fair, I don’t think it has a series name as of yet (I just found out the sequel was up for preorder). Since Baby Teeth is so popular, I figured I’d give this post series reading order a temporary name in the meantime. P.S. Here’s my review of Baby Teeth 😉 Of course it’s TOTALLY my thing.

IF it becomes a full on series, it’s probably going to be called “Hanna” series, or who knows, but anyway, YAY!!! We have a sequel to the creepy psych-thriller “Baby Teeth” and I can’t wait to read it! read more
