Paris: I was wondering if you could recommend any modern day pirate books? I’ve read Criminals of the Ocean and I haven’t been able to find anything else’s like it!

Are you in the mood for an intense, pajama-top drenching sob fest? I know your instant reaction is GAH!! Noooooo!!! But you know so many of our absolute forever favorites included a deep, heaving cry. Those moments (and books) that we’ll never forget. Sometimes those are cathartic, you know. It doesn’t always have to end sadly for one to have a good cry while reading. Right? 😉

This was starting out as a reader question, but I had such amazing feedback on it, that I decided to turn it into a “reader favorites” post.
It all started when Laycie was desperate for a good book. She asked (on my Facebook page):
Laycie: “Right, I have not read a book in too long. I had another baby and couldn’t find the time, then I just couldn’t find the right book. So hit me up with your favourite reads of 2017-2018. I need something amazing!”
