I read this book.
17 year girl with a gift she didn’t know she had. Fair or something comes to this town and she meets the town hero or the captain of football player and he is her soulmate.
Their dinner and grandparents. Best friend guy and sister of the best friends.
I just can’t remember the book. Can anyone tell me if they remember the name? It’s supposed to be a series book.

Her question reminded me of “Sweet Dreams” but I know who the owner is in that book, so instead, I’m submitting a different guess.
When Tracey mentioned the “pregnant bar owner” detail in her question brings to mind one that I enjoyed a few years ago, and totally has this feel (though I can’t remember the exact details or even if she owned the bar but I do remember a pregnant character in the bar and the new girl in town DOES get a job in the local bar). It was From Dust (Portland, ME, novels Book 1) by Freya Barker (and it is a series!)
Jessica needs help finding a book and it’s driving her nuts! FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!! Oh boy!! This makes me think of two books (The Bronze Horseman or – especially this one – Something in the Way except for the fact about her dad being his mentor. So I’m pretty sure those are not it (although I still need to finish Something In the Way so maybe that comes later?)

So sometime in the last few months I know I read the first chapter (I think it was a prologue set 8 years in the past but that could be wrong) of a book but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was. I generally remember the following:
Guy and girl were childhood friends;
Guy became fit/attractive sometime in late adolenscence or early adulthood;
