A book like The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred But not the exact same. Like this book is like one with 100% love & anguish feels to it .
I liked the Sweet Gum Tree because of the character development. Slow romance but not too slow. The love between the characters.
The anguish, abuse Nick faced then the anguish Alix faced later on, the sacrifice Nick did… the separation. Then Nick groveling or more asking for forgiveness.
Shaziya needs our book help! Oh yesss this one sounds familiar. I’m sure I’ve read it, but I’ve read a few second chance romance books with foster kids, so my memory is muddled.
For some reason my mind is telling me it’s the third book in Rachel Higginson’s chef series (The Problem with Him (The Opposites Attract Series Book 3) but I can’t remember a “foster kids” scenario in that one.

YESSSS!! This is a great reader question and perfectly timed, since so many of us are so into the Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies. Oh I have watched some absolute magnificent ones that stole my heart (that one with that super-hot Christmas ghost that was so ornery?!! *sigh* LOVEDDDDD!!!).
I don’t even care that we already know “how it’s all gonna go”. Done right, they are calming and heartwarming and festive!! It puts me in the right spirit! And Kim is looking for more (but in book form!).
Jessica is looking for this one! OOOOH SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE maybe??!!! But first, with a ton of angry & tumultuous pushing away. SO FUN!! 😉

Can’t remember the name of this book and it is driving me crazy.
All I remember is she returns to her home town and I think the boy next door now hates her and ignores her and that night throws a party with loud music but then comes and visits her angry…
I know it was angsty and I have read so many books I just can’t find it.
Pretty sure he treats her horribly because he was so hurt when she left. They may have had some thing as kids when he used to sleep in her bed…
