Following my heart, one book at a time...
UPDATED 11-28-2023 – SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS TIME TRAVEL SERIES!!!! P.S. Scroll down the page for the series reading order including the spinoff!!
MichelleS found us a new author (she has loved BOTH series this author has written) and is freaking out with book-giddiness! I mean how can you resist a fellow reader that says:
“SQUEEEEEE!!! yay – I just finished – I actually called in sick today- I kid you not. I couldn’t sleep. This book had me in knots. It was fan-freaking-tastic. 5 stars!!!”
The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland Series)
What a FANTASTIC fantastic story. To think I missed out on this beauty, intensity and heartbreak over the word “fantasy” for a year or two, when all along, every bit of the “Kristen Ashley fervent alpha-male love story” I was craving was right there, ready and waiting for me. *sigh* Blasted me and my genre-bias!!
And the worst part is I probably won’t learn my lesson. I’ll still shy away from the “fantasy” genre. Except for anything “fantasy” from this author. I. Am. Sold.
I am in a serious mood for a Kristen Ashley read these days. There is still tons to choose from in her repertoire that I haven’t read yet, and am thinking this sounds good!!

Talltree: Wildest Dreams (Fantasyland) by Kristen Ashley… VERY hot , lots of fantasy and Finnie is amazing! Frey was wonderful, an alpha who adores and cherishes Finnie. Loved everything about the book (except 1 tiny thing which bugged me , but I’ll not bore you with it – its nothing that would reduce your enjoyment of this fantasy romance)
About book #1:
“A sexy paranormal debut–from a fresh new voice in erotic romance. The next target of a time traveling killer, crime reporter Jane Colby finds herself in the hands of a warlord from the future sent to protect her–and in his hands is just where she wants to be.”
A Discovery of Witches: A Novel
This book has me confounded in regards to my stance on the whole thing. Did I like it? Love it? Sometimes both. The book is extremely descriptive. Every smell, sight and memory comes alive with consistent colorful and rich detail. But sometimes (okay, I admit… a lot) it bored me. I’d start fidgeting, and my attention would wane, and I’d be anxious to get back to the stuff that settles me into that awesome slow motion reading I love to do. You know, when the book is so good, it’s almost as if you start reading in slow motion, absorbing every detail, living every moment, heart pounding (in love or in fear). That’s when I know I’m into a book.
