Book Review – Method 15/33 by Shannon Kirk

Good. Really good! I was more into the first half than the second half, but it rounds out well (In a good or bad way? My lips are sealed). 😉

Creepy and a bit terrifying but what kept me calm was the victim. No matter her uncertain, extremely dire situation and the lack of control she had on her current situation, she was plotting. She was thinking. She was getting ready to turn the tables.

Tricking someone into thinking he has power is the ultimate power play.

Oooooh YOU GUYS!!! One of my FAVORITE books (and Amy’s too, and a few others in our crew) was just asked about. One I could answer and was SO thrilled to.

And if any of you missed this book, our recommendation of it, or my review, I KNEW I had to post this reader question, even if I answered it already.

This book is AWESOME, BUT!!! Totally an unconventional, intense, love story. Just perfect, in its own amazing way. After all… it’s Cara McKenna that wrote it!

Book Review – The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis

The Female of the Species
Yeeeeeaahhhhh… my book twin, AKA the other half of the “Marmy twins” recommended this one to me, and BIG TIME, so I knew I was in for some serious ooooomph, and boy did I get it. This. Book. Was. AWESOME!!! Not my “usual” (yes it is a love story, and there’s all sorts of romance and jealousy angst, but it’s so much more) and EXACTLY what I LOVE.

It’s hard reading at times. There is so much real life in here. The ugly kind (and always the kind that we’ve ALL been around, all been amidst, all been a part of in some way shape or form). What an eye-opener this story was. From volunteering in an animal shelter (and tending to abandoned and neglected animals they grow to love and nurture), to creepy guys hanging around underaged teens at parties (you know the ones), to full-on predators that get away with murder. Book Review – Badger by C. M. McKenna

WOW!!!! This one tore right through me and had me in pieces, rocking back and forth. I was… melancholy. *phew*!!! I need a hug. No… I need TO hug. I need to hug Badger. Adrian. Every single character in this book. My doggie, a stuffed teddybear. YOU. 😉

And yet I loved every single second of it. 5 stars without a doubt!

I saw this one a few weeks ago upon it’s release, and it sparked my immediate interest ’cause I realized C.M. McKenna was actually one of my most favorite authors in the world, Cara McKenna. I knew I was going to be in for some magnificent story telling. Unique blurb, strange-ish cover, and a new “pen name”? What was THIS going to be about? I had a feeling I was about to embark on an incredibly emotional journey. And if I was lucky? Maybe even a love story, even if it wasn’t listed as a “romance”. read more

That’s right. Me. Up there. That was how I felt upon finishing this mind f… redface er…. delightfully convoluted story.  HOLY MOLY… I got it. No I didn’t. But I GET it… now. And yet I totally didn’t. But I did. But I wasn’t sure if it was me? Or her? Or had my mind just… cracked after all of that? rolleyes I don’t even care, ’cause IT. WAS. AWESOME!!
