What’s even more fun, is that we have two kinds of lists requested (books “geared” for boys, and also of course, for girls). So I’ve tried to separate them a bit here, to make it easier to focus on what you’re looking for, but in the grand scheme of things, it ends up all mixed together below since we can all read them and enjoy them.
<— YA HIGH-SCHOOL PSYCH-THRILLER SERIES ALERT (a la “Breakfast Club” but so much more)!!! Oooooh EM GEEEEE!!! I just found out about this ’cause Kat LOVED book #1 and this sounds like so much creepy fun!!! 🙂 AND!!! The actual sequel to book #1 (the 3rd book listed below) is up for preorder and coming out in just a few weeks!!
P.S. I’m not really sure that book #2 is part of this series, ’cause from reviews – it’s a standalone – but the title, and cover and the fact that it’s also a YA psych-thriller/murder mystery makes me feel like putting it in here, anyway. 😉
The Folk of the Air Trilogy by Holly Black <— I haven’t read this series yet, but it’s ALL the rage here, and the conclusion rocked worlds!! But Katie hasn’t read it either and she asks:
“…is there romance and if so is it pg?”
I’m pretty sure there’s romance (as that is what we love the most, no matter what genre especially considering how huge Fantasy romance is amongst our crew), but I figured I’d let the series pros weigh in.
Can anyone answer both of her questions?
Kelly: Very PG. There’s some physicality but not a lot of detail
Tessa: Leia Stone’s Fallen Academy is really good. I’m dying for book 4. I got 3.5 but it’s from his POV during a period of time.
Tessa: I apparently missed Fallen Academy, Year 4 by Leia Stone came out! EEP!
About book #1:
Brielle Atwater isn’t sure of much, but she knows a few things:
1. Having black wings is not normal.
2. Selling her soul to the demons was a mistake.
3. Lincoln Grey is the biggest jerk she’s ever met … but not falling in love with him might prove impossible.
Teresa needs our book help! Ooooohhh how I would love to find that Twilight magic all over again. I love when HE avoids her at all costs and pushes her away when he can’t. My heart wants it even more, then!
…can’t remember the series/book name
A book about a girl who goes to school for gifted or paranormal kids.
She falls for the one boy who is part of a group that have their own place on campus. He treats her like he’s Edward Cullen at first and tries to avoid her. She is special in some way…
