Monday Early Bird Book Releases – 11-25-2019

By 38 Comments

Happy Monday my friends!! 25 books just went LIVE early! This week is especially exciting cause I have SO much to look forward to. 😀 I’m doing the Thanksgiving Supper this year and I’m nervous, but I can’t wait to get started.

Three things:

1.) Since I’m in the “cooking spirit” I worked all weekend on this fun post (and I’m not even halfway done ’cause there are 20 pages of our comments involving recipes, so I’m still backtracking). WE SURE LOVE FOOD here. LOL!! Reader Recommendations – Our favorite foods, recipes, & cooking tools! read more

Reader Recommendations – Our favorite foods, recipes, & cooking tools!

I’m a huge Outlander fan (and I love to cook!), so I was thrilled when I received THIS cookbook —> Outlander Kitchen: The Official Outlander Companion Cookbook!! It’s proudly displayed in my kitchen. P.S. I took that photo!! 😀

Okay so… I know we’re not a “cooking blog” but we often go off the book-rails in our comment section talking about life in general. And over the years, we’ve shared (and enjoyed) each other’s recipes, cooking ideas and favorite foods. Yep. We are TOTAL foodies here.

And since we’re heading right into our mega-comfort food cooking season, with the requests of our book crew, I’ve searched back through our comments and gathered all of our cooking highlights to share with the world. 😀 read more

Friday Finds & Reader Recommendations – 11-22-19

By 35 Comments

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!! Lots of fun new releases, but even more fun – tried & true reader recommendations (and a ton of ’em including feedback for some recent releases).

<— P.S. I’m about to start that one to the left, in just a few minutes!!! OMG BLURB JOLT FOR ME!!! 😀

We also found some other kinds of sales like:

  • 4 months of Amazon Unlimited Music for a super-bargain. Seriously. I want this but I’ve already been a member so it’s just for new subscribers. *sigh* I WANT THIS!! FOUR. WHOLE. MONTHS!! “... This limited time offer provides on-demand, ad-free and unlimited access to 50 million songs on any device via the Amazon Music app...” <— I use my Echo to play mine.

Leslie M: I am typically not a subscription person…I dont have KU, Netflix, or even Prime. I feel like I have enough bills that I don’t want to pay for anything else unless it’s really worth it. But I DO have Amazon Music and I love it!! Its especially fun if you have the Alexa Show ’cause the lyrics scroll on the screen. To have on demand music with no ads?!?! Totally worth it to me. read more

Regarding West by Ashley Simmons is LIVE & she’s sent over 5 Fun Facts, an excerpt and she’s giving away a gift card!!

By 9 Comments

<— Regarding West JUST WENT LIVE!!! 😀 So to celebrate, Ashley Simmons is today’s newsletter sponsor, and she’s sent over a Five Fun Facts about the book, an excerpt AND she’s giving away a $10 gift card (and it’s open to International)!! 😀 YAY US!!!!

Five Fun Facts about Regarding West…

  • I actually started this book before Corduroy, a Boy, and a Mostly True Story and scrapped it. I loved Weston’s character in Corduroy so much and decided to make a whole book about him.
  • I obsessively binge watch old teen sitcoms. You can probably pick out bits and pieces of 90’s teen sitcom characters in my book characters if you really look. Pacey Whitter for life, y’all.
  • I will not, under any circumstances, allow my husband to read my books. He loves sci-fi/fantasy and classics. I don’t want to be compared to Chaucer!
  • My nine year old loves to read and edit my books. She was my original beta reader. She gets my first advance copy, minus the sexy scenes, and takes her job seriously!
  • I’m from the south and love College Football – Go Dawgs! I’m already working on my third book, but I think my fourth book will be about a football player. Swoon!

An Excerpt:

Dammit all to hell.  Why did I let Tim talk me into taking summer classes?  Oh yeah, because I am a gigantic wuss who can’t think for himself. A far cry from the guy I was a few years ago.  I’m standing outside the locked side entrance, trying to figure out how to explain my tardiness again when I see Uncle Tim walking out of the front door to the school.   read more
