It’s Nancy’s yearly “Best of” list, and while this may be the last one of these until next year, this is certainly not the least!!
Some sweet comment highlights:
Maryse: ❤️ Nancy, you will forever be one of my grandest, greatest friends. It feels like we’ve known each other forever.
Nancy: When I first found your page we both were into paranormal heavy. Then we left Twilight stage & Edward behind. Then when I got my first Kindle there was no stopping all the books I have collected. I love when you do the oldies but goodies! Memories galore!
Nancy: …I’ve come a long way since I found your blog. One day I will make a list of all the books I read because of your recommendation.
And that… she did!!! In case any of you missed that amazing list, here it is, too! 😉 What a TREAT!!! —> Nancy’s very special book list (45 of ’em) that she calls “Ode to Maryse” 😉
Nancy’s Best Books of 2022
THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER by Lucy Score
This Best Seller has been in the top 100 Kindle Store for going on a year and still #6. Made the New York Times Best Selling List too. Things We Never Got Over will definitely be on My Favorite Books List for 2022! I have read a lot of books by Lucy Score, but now it is my favorite. It is a long book, but I didn’t know if I wanted to finish reading it. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
THE FINAL PLAY by Amie Knight (Summerville Sport Series)
The story starts out in Chapter 1, with Mason in present time at age 37 & still playing football. He is one of the best linebackers ever & never wants to stop playing.
But realistically I knew that football wasn’t a forever sport. He was at his home when a beautiful tiny woman, who was obviously pregnant, came to his door. He thinks she is after his money & is downright rude & mean to her. When she tells him it is his brother Max she is looking for, then his interest is suddenly changed. Once she hears that Max is in jail, she just wants to leave. Then it is Mason in pursuit to find out the story. What were the odds that Max would sleep with the only woman on earth that attracted more trouble than him?
A WILD HEART by Amie Knight (The Heart Series Book 4)
But this stranger had the darkest troubled eyes, and she looked right back at him. She danced with him, and what would it hurt if they had a one-night stand? Or became friends with benefits? His name was Weston Reeves and he had grief and sorrow of his own. It seemed like a miracle, a second chance, a new beginning when hope was gone. Amazon
…an epic love story that spans years. I would suggest that you read this book blind. To be honest, I thought after reading the book that even the Blurb gave too much away.
Copper & Story have an instant attraction to each other, and both would like it to be more than just one night. He finishes his paper, too! It won’t be easy for them & is like they are up against the world.
I recommend this book!! Best I Ever Had!
SWEAR ON MY LIFE by S.L. Scott
an Epic Love Story. It is a long book, but once I started reading, it was difficult for me to put it down till The End! Now this is one of my favorite books by S.L. Scott.
Harbor and Lark are complete opposites that fate and destiny seems to want to bring together. He is from the rich part of the town, and she is from the poorer part. Yet they both are full of secret heartache but find comfort in each other. In just a month’s time they have fallen in love, and he wants her to move in with him.
MINE FOR YOURS: A Single Parent, Small Town Romance is a new release that starts on a sad note. Rylee Creed has finally come home, but the reason is to bury her twenty-nine-year-old brother Trevor. She stands there in the pouring rain by his newly dug grave overcome with grief. She’s unaware that she is being watched over by Rhodes Walsh. He is also lost in his grief. Trevor had been his best-friend and business partner in their bar named Bent Pedal. He had lost his friend way too soon.
FERRARA is the newest release by TL Swan. She is on my list of authors that I 1-click on her books as soon as one is released. It is a long book, so I read whenever I had time, until I was finished. I knew I wouldn’t be able to accomplish much else till I came to The End. It was worth it!
I would suggest reading THE ITALIAN first. It would make the story so much easier to follow.
The Do-Over by T.L. Swan (The Miles High Club Book 4)
THE DO-OVER (The Miles High Club Book 4) by T.L. Swan was a long awaited must read for me. I bought and started reading on release day. The first 3 books in the series were so good, and about the other 3 Miles brothers finding their forever love.
Christopher was sure he was never going to find the love of his life, and asked advice from his three happily married brothers. He’s convinced a Happy-ever-after won’t happen for him.
HEARTBROKEN HERO by Jeannine Colette & Lauren Runow
HEARTBROKEN HERO by the talented writing team of Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow. Another good book in their Falling for The Stars Series. This time it is a story of Falling for a Cancer who also is a single dad. Sophie Darnell has lived a very privileged life in New York City.
When at 25 years of age her entire world comes crashing down around her. Her father, a well-known political consultant and attorney Carl Darnell, has been indicted in a major case of stock & securities fraud. So, she gets in her car and skips town, leaving behind one desperate father in jail, a mother whose entire existence has drastically changed just overnight, & a boyfriend that can’t believe she has left him without a word.
THE RECKLESS OATH WE MADE by Bryn Greenwood
I read ALL THE UGLY & WONDERFUL THINGS by Bryn Greenwood & it was such a unique story. I just finished reading THE RECKLESS OATH WE MADE also written by Bryn Greenwood. It is another very unique story.
The hero knight comes in real shiny armor & is on the scale of autism. Autism is a subject that is very near & dear to my heart. A person with autism can be very intelligent, but socially live in a world of their own.
PRIVATE MESSAGES by Connie Lafortune (2nd Chance Romance)
Liliana (Lili) Avalon is so depressed that she can’t sleep or write her books. Until she meets him. Zane Sinclair is the successful owner of Club Syn in Seattle. He has issues of his own, and people have called him a mean cold heartless bastard so many times. All that matters to him is his club, but then he meets her. Lili is everything he never knew he wanted. Zane will find it is harder than he thinks to fight & compete for a heart that belongs to a dead lost love.
This book is full of emotion & angst.
FORBIDDEN LOVE STILL BLOOMS by Nora Flite
I previously read quite a few books by Nora Flite. But nothing like this book: FORBIDDEN LOVE STILL BLOOMS. An age gap story with the female main character being 22 and the hero being 40. It is quite steamy with touches of darkness thrown in.
I would call it a Psychological & Thriller Book. It is an adult book with mystery and angst. It is one of those books that you won’t want to put down till you know what happens. This is a standalone.
HEY, MR. MARSHALL (St. Mary’s Rebels book 4) by Saffron A. Kent
HEY, MISTER MARSHALL by Saffron A. Kent is Book 4 in St. Mary’s Rebels. I have read them all, but they could be read as standalone. This is a long book, but I had a hard time putting it down. It is my favorite in the St. Mary’s Series. The pair of Mr. Alaric Rule Marshall & Poe Austen Blyton will be a long painful slow-burn all the way from adversaries to soulmates. It is going on my list of Favorite Books of 2022!
SEDUCE ME by Robyn DeHart (Kat Baxter) (The Legend Hunters)
SEDUCE ME (The Legend Hunters Book 1) by Robyn DeHart is a great Victorian Historical Romance with lots of suspense. It reminded me lots of the Indiana Jones movies with Harrison Ford. It is one of those books that once you start to read, you will not want to put down.
JAMISON VALLEY by Devney Perry
…terrific series. Could all be read as standalone, but more fun to read in order!
THE SINNER SERIES by Michelle Heard
Mafia Books at their best! She has outdone herself with this series!
