Phury, the hero of Lover Enshrined (my book review can be read here – wow it’s from 2009!! LOL!)
At one time (until his own book!) Phury was competing for my #1 favorite brother. His only competition? His twin, Zsadist. Z was always a touch ahead of Phury for me. As the angrier, more tortured brother, he appealed to my bad-boy curiosity, but Phury was so compelling. A mysterious, intriguing character, a kind and gentle warrior, but obviously tormented in his own way. In my mind, the most gorgeous of them all, and the most noble. Not a bad-boy bone in his body… and yet, another one who was completely unattainable, due to his devotion to his deeply troubled brother.

Character Look-Alikes – Zsadist From The Black Dagger Brotherhood
And with that latest J.R Ward Tidbits and News post, it gave me the perfect opportunity to show you what I found (well my friend Sherry found it, but I said MINE!!). It’s mostly just silly fun, but when I find THE perfect picture, I need to immortalize it on my blog forever, so that I can pull it up and *swoon* whenever I want. It’s the most perfect example of my version of Zsadist!
It is no secret that “Z” is my most favorite-est of all book characters (human, vampire or other). Nobody beats him. A strong alpha-male, that is so broken inside that he won’t let a soul near him. He’s a protector. A fearless fighter (although deep inside, he is slowly losing his own fight). Part of an intricate, closely knit group of vampire warrior “Brothers”, and yet, he always remains in the shadows, distant from everyone that tries to love him. Always at arms length. No humor, no happiness, no hope. But despite his personal hatred of himself, he hides a fierce loyalty to his group, and fights side by side with them, without fail.
Latest J.R. Ward Tidbits and News!
It’s not much but it’s enough to have me anxious and feeling all sorts of “Black Dagger Brotherhood” festive 😉 Soooooo far away, but it’s starting to sound like it’ll be worth it:
Tidbits taken from her Facebook page:
Her latest update about Tohr’s upcoming book Lover Reborn: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood (expected release March 27th 2012 :
“Tohr update on length: okay so Rehv’s final draft word count was 214,944. John’s was 186,340. Today, Tohr’s at 180,297 with 371 pages (approx.) for me to review. Soooooo I’m betting Tohr will beat John, and come in behind Rehv- it’s going to be tough before Rehv’s topped!”
J.R. Ward Releases the Lover Reborn Cover!!!
Lover Reborn: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood (release date March 27th 2012)
Look at this gorgeous cover!! Tohr looks tortured and I can’t wait to go on his journey with him. Considering he’s one of the original Brothers, I’m hoping this feels like *home* again.
I hope it has that steamy-crass-bad-boy-heart-wrenching drama that I love so much when it comes to these guys!! I mean, of course each book always *does* but I’m hoping this one’ll be super intense. Like old-school BDB intense. Considering how much he’s been through, and the tragic turn of his life, all he’s lost… I think we’re in for something BIG.
Book Review – Envy by J.R. Ward
Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Angels
Pooooor book review. Being written so late in the game, when I actually finished this book over two weeks ago!! But, as you all know, I got caught up in life. First with a business trip smack-dab in the middle of my Envy read, and then, right when I was about to start my Envy review, my world turned Fifty Shades of Grey. My Envy review ended up on the back burner. And I would say that, in itself, speaks volumes.
Envy was very good, but not all-consuming. I did however, really enjoy the book. Oh sure, I was able to put it down, but I was always happy to pick it back up. No real boredom issues, just… no driving need to see what happened next. It had a great couple of stories going on at the same time. A book that fit perfectly in the series, and, actually might have been one of the better ones, in terms of the grand scheme of things. Lots of lessons learned, even for the angels (fallen and not fallen, alike). The main couple however, did not burn me to the core like that past two couples have. I liked them, enjoyed their journey, but I suppose I didn’t relate as much.
