If you haven’t read a J.L Perry book, go get one now. I’ve been obsessed with this author since I read “Bastard” and I’ve scooped up every one of her books since. I didn’t think anyone could steal my heart like Carter and Indiana, but I was so very wrong. Braxton and Jemma just came in and totally swept it right out from under from me. From the very first chapter of this book to the last, I couldn’t stop smiling. read more

Book Review – Atheists Who Kneel and Pray by Tarryn Fisher

Atheists Who Kneel and Pray: a romance novel
Tarryn Fisher’s writing style and voice is absolutely glowing here. And I must say… thank goodness (because it was EVERYTHING I was hoping it would be, and not at all, what I was expecting). What does that even mean?

Well, at first, I was bit leery of the whole “she’s a muse” concept. Muses are perfect, untouchable, and coveted, and… aloof. That doesn’t usually entice me. I tend to find those kinds of stories (with a an almost sociopathically detached heroine) that just continues moving on, man after man, breaking hearts walking into the sunset onto her next “life” with a satisfied grin on her face… I dunno. *shrug* Just not for me. That is, unless she’s some kind of bad-ass vigilante, or serial killer. Those are fun reads. 😉 *snort* read more

Book Review – The Difference Between Us by Rachel Higginson

The Difference Between Us: An Opposites Attract Novel
Another fantastic installment in this super-funny, butterfly-inducing, realistic series about love, master chefs and the restaurants (or food trucks 😉 ) they run.

They can be read as a standalones but I urge you to read them in order, because each book features characters from past (and future) installments, and we get to know them more and more (and get even more attached to them as real people) as the series progresses.

Book Review – Gwendy's Button Box by Stephen King & Richard Chizmar

It’s creepy. It’s magnificent. And for me, it’s an easy 5 stars for just having sucked me in right from the very start, and having never let me go. I didn’t put it down (at least… not by choice). 😉

Sure, it’s a shorter read, but I honestly felt like this story was complete (mind you, I’d love some sequels… there’s much story potential here).

And personally, if I were you, I’d stop reading this review right now, and JUMP IN to this eerie story, and escape for awhile. 😉 Go in as blind as you can. Trust me. It’s worth it, even if you’re not a horror (or scary story fan). This one is so much more than that. read more

<— FABULOUS OF ALL FABULOUSNESS!!! Fulfilling and exhilarating, twisty-turny, funny and traumatic!! How can that be? I dunno but she’s just that good. :P (P.S. Check out my review of book #1 ➔ Book Review – The Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez)). You can read either review first, ’cause I promise. No spoilers!!
