Cover aside… (I wish these authors would choose more “rock star” looking models for these kinds of books) but anyway, it was good. VERY good. Actually, another one of my favorite short stories, that I read many months ago, when I first started my “rock star” book obsession. It had just enough of everything to make me connect to the characters and live their drama with them (even if it was just for a short time). There was even a certain point in the book, that had me thinking, wow, what a perfect ending to a “short”, and then I realized there was more! I was thrilled.

One Grave at a Time: A Night Huntress Novel
Guys. Is it just me? I’m bored. I’ve been reading this book for three days straight, I adore Cat and Bones to death, and yet, I keep putting this one down. I’m only 60-something percent in. I’m bummed, because my favorite vampire crew have turned into boring ol’ super-sleuths. It’s a paranormal mystery, but that’s about it. Urban Fantasy (but it’s always been that). The story is solid, mind you. It’s got a bit of danger, a bad guy (or maybe two?), people to save, a problem to solve and an all-consuming, very important purpose.
Book Review – Effortless by S.C. Stephens

BIG SPOILER ALERT!! DO NOT read further if you haven’t read book #1 yet (Thoughtless). Just don’t! You’ll ruin all the fun for yourself. Book #1 was one of the best reads of the year, for me. Not knowing where it was going, or how “they” were going to end up made it even that much more exciting, and heartbreakingly terrifying!

Book Review – Providence by Jamie McGuire

A paranormal romance book that gave me quite a few palpitations! It certainly didn’t lack in the love triangle angst that I love so much. I had moments of absolute desperation for the heroine, felt her heartache and her confusion. I couldn’t help but fluctuate between what “team” I was on, in this one, because both “heroes” were so worthy of my love.. I mean Nina’s love 😉 .
Nina is from a wealthy family. Her father is the CEO of his own huge corporation, having much power and respect. Despite his powerful position in life, he adores and dotes on his daughter Nina, and she adores him back. A car crash however, ends his life, and her world turns upside down. Not only is she having to deal with her incredible grief over his loss and her emotionally distant mother, she soon realizes that she didn’t really know her father at all.

I found it!!! I founnnnnnd it!! Another one that had me clutching my heart like Travis did. Heh. Some of you guys are trying to kill me… and I loved every sleepless moment of it. What a completely absorbing rock star recommendation you had for me, this time.
It usually takes me a day or two to come down from a book, so I can review it properly. But this one has me all twisted inside, and I need to deal with it now. And you know what? There’s a part TWO!! Guess what I’ll be reading all weekend? The only way to do that, without guilt, is to get this one off my chest now. There’s a lump in my throat, and it’s been there for three days straight. It kinda hurts.
