Book Review – Tangled Web by Jade C. Jamison

Tangled Web
Rock stars!!! I read this one back in July, when I first found all of these undiscovered “rock star” books out there on Amazon and this was fun enough. If I can remember correctly, I got “into” it, pretty much immediately. I do know it provided for a good enough angsty ride, and had a lot of “flashbacks” that helped build the issue that was troubling the characters today.

I thought, okay, this is good, not flipping me out or anything, but I like it enough that I’m happy to see how this turns out. And then BAM! Yup, this was another that went and smacked me hard! It hit me with a shocking part that I totally didn’t see coming. I was all…  “UGH!!!” over that part, but I have to confess. It’s because of the crazy unexpected *moment* that I decided I truly enjoyed the book. read more

Book Review – Across the Hall by NM Facile

Across The Hall
I just finished this one at about 2am Thursday night (a work night, no less), so as you can imagine, I enjoyed it well enough. It may have robbed me of a bit of sleep, but my adrenaline levels remained steady (which means, I didn’t get to freak out 🙁 . Bummer, because I LOVE to do that when I read).

While the writing flow, to me, had it’s “iffy” moments in the beginning, it eventually held my attention, and had everything it needed to have (a troubled past, a love triangle, a scary situation and a heartbreaking moment). That said, I was glad when I was done. In fact, the end was a bit drawn out for my taste, but that’s probably just because I was ready to go to sleep, and this book wasn’t ready to say goodnight. read more

I’ve finally amassed an impressive collection of worthy suggestions for you (and most are truly comparable, at least *feeling* wise to Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster). Book Review – Envy by J.R. Ward

Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Angels
Pooooor book review. Being written so late in the game, when I actually finished this book over two weeks ago!! But, as you all know, I got caught up in life. First with a business trip smack-dab in the middle of my Envy read, and then, right when I was about to start my Envy review, my world turned Fifty Shades of Grey. My Envy review ended up on the back burner. And I would say that, in itself, speaks volumes.

Envy was very good, but not all-consuming. I did however, really enjoy the book. Oh sure, I was able to put it down, but I was always happy to pick it back up. No real boredom issues, just… no driving need to see what happened next. It had a great couple of stories going on at the same time. A book that fit perfectly in the series, and, actually might have been one of the better ones, in terms of the grand scheme of things. Lots of lessons learned, even for the angels (fallen and not fallen, alike). The main couple however, did not burn me to the core like that past two couples have. I liked them, enjoyed their journey, but I suppose I didn’t relate as much. read more

All the Wrong Reasons
As we all know, I’m on  a personal quest to keep us sleep-deprived at least two or three times a month 😉 It’s hard, though, as the books we’ve been losing sleep over seem impossible to top. But… somehow, we keep doing it, don’t we? Obviously, they exist. There has got to be more out there. All that is required, is that we find them. But I’m on it!

There is nothing better than a full night of sleep… except when one loses sleep over a book. Love that! read more
