<— First… don’t forget to check out my latest post: Currently Reading… Starting Fires by Makenzie Smith (it’s good!!!)

Amazon is still going strong with the Black Friday sales (apparently it’s Black “weekend”) and then tomorrow we have Cyber-Monday. The shopping sales are insane right now, and I just realized the “Michelles” from our reading crew found us a TON more super-sale books too (some that they are currently reading and loving).

Fabi’s freaking out!

Fabi: MichelleS and Michelle I’ve been doing so good resisting the sales and recs since I went crazy with book buys on Tuesday UNTIL you two combined forces. I don’t know if I can resist FaCade, Insidious and Empathy. And I don’t think I have any of them on my Kindle yet. :-( I’m almost done with Dark Light and was so sure I’d stick to my tbr for my next read. Now…idk if I can.

LOL! I get you, Fabi! :P

So here I go again… making a Black Friday sale list “Part 2″ ;) But I’m just focusing on the books! Oh and here’s the first one, in case you missed it —> BLACK FRIDAY Book (and book-like stuff) Deals!!

  • Asylum by Lily White <— DARK AUTHOR so surely a dark read! Sally LOVED it! “OKAY ladies and Maryse I am reading this one right now and USUALLY I will wait till AFTER I am done to tell you all BUT let me tell you I can tell this one is going to be EPIC!! Lily White outdid herself with this one, I am SO EXCITED about it that I just couldn’t wait till after I was done to tell you!!
  • Affliction: Knights Rebels MC by River Savage <— BOOK #2 after the one I reviewed yesterday!! Sy’s book!
  • Cash (The Barringer Brothers) by Tess Oliver <— “A horrid, unstable childhood and a long stint with Bedlam, an outlaw MC, has left Cash Tremaine hardened, disillusioned and desperate to find a better life.

Michelle found us these!!

MichelleS: “I decided to start FaCade (Deception Series 1) that Michelle recommended…. WHOA…. it’s a combination of The Tied Man, and Mud Vein, and Captive in the Dark… has elements of each… it’s a doozy, that’s for sure. Will keep you posted. Michelle, did you read this? They were not kidding with the “dark erotica” description.

Cheryl: Michelle(s) is FaCade part of a series? Is it complete?

Michelle: Cheryl I just checked – CADEnce Book 2 and the conclusion to Book 1 FaCade comes out Dec. 5th.

MichelleS: I have no idea if it is part of a series. It says it is “Deception Series Book 1″, but I don’t know if it’s a continuation of their story or new ones for each book… I am at 62% now, will finish tonight and report back if it is a cliffhanger! At this point I have NO IDEA at all what’s going on. Haven’t figured it out yet. I love it when that happens. Can’t figure out if he’s a good guy, bad guy, or what. Wicked good!! And it was 99 cents!! Thank you Michelle.

MichelleS: I finished FaCade. So here’s the deal: it ends with a cliffhanger… dang it… and I did NOT see that coming at all. so that’s good – it surprised me. It was dark, though… and there’s one scene that is just… well… disturbing… but we’ve all read Captive in the Dark and Mud Vein and Tied Man and Bad Things… so we can handle it. I am giving book one 4.5 stars because it was riveting, but I didn’t get attached to anyone, you know? I’m waffling on the 4.5 stars….. but will read book two because now that I know, I’ve got to see how it plays out.

  • Almost by Anne Eliot <— “At a freshman party she doesn’t remember…Jess Jordan was almost raped….Almost. Very nearly. Not quite. Three years later, Jess has managed to make everyone believe she’s better. Over it. Because she is….Almost. Very nearly. Not quite.”
  • The One (The Selection Book 3) by Kiera Cass <— dystopian YA
  • Written in My Own Heart’s Blood: A Novel (Outlander, Book 8) by Diana Gabaldon is 3.75 (and MichelleS LOVED this one, too, saying: “Speaking of old series that I love, did you ever read the latest in Outlander series? (Writtenin my Own Heart’s Blood)… it’s the ONLY one in that series, besides the first book, that I would re-read! Loved it.“) and Cheryl agrees! “Finally finished Written in My Own Heart’s Blood- so GOOD, but now the wait begins for book #9!”
  • Written In Red: A Novel of the Others by Anne Bishop:D
  • The Beautiful Mess Series by TK Leigh (the bundle!!)
  • Cress (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer
  • The Undead Pool (The Hollows Book 12) by Kim Harrison
  • Take Care, Sara (GOOD! here’s my review) and Unlit Star by Lindy Zart. Andee says: “I just finished Unlit Star (ugh – really emotional, but beautifully written)”
  • Fracture (Blood & Roses Book 2) by Callie Hart
  • Twice in a Lifetime (Love Found) by Ruthie Henrick”…they marry and live their happyish-ever-after – until Ben’s death reveals a betrayal that rocks Allie’s world. The sidelines. Where Jake has hovered for the past fifteen years, business partners with his best friend, in love with his best friend’s wife. He’s shocked by Ben’s duplicity, overcome by the guilt of a deathbed promise.
  • Degradation (The Kane Trilogy Book 1) and Separation (The Kane Trilogy Book 2) by Stylo Fantome  <— Tessa recommends it! “Got hooked with the sample from Degradation and, omg.  So good.  Now, I’m 19% in and loving it.   Normally, when someone writes the rebellious slutty girl who becomes hard, I sincerely don’t like her, but Tate is awesome and real. I hope the book continues like this.” and then she says: “…you should read Degradation.  It’s definitely your type of book, angsty, jerk type hero, and a little more.”
  • Forever, Jack (Eversea #2) by Natasha Boyd

Shell found us these!

and Bev found us these:

  • Starting from Scratch (Bitterthorn, Texas) by Stacy Gail <— Bev: “I’m going to be starting From Scratch by Gail Stacy in a bit. It is a Christmas novella. He was injured in war and has selective amnesia and can remember everyone but his wife. One reviewer gave it an A & one gave it a C. It seems that the C was based on the husband maybe being too much an a$$ & too much info dumping in regards to some of the military aspects.”
  • House Of Payne: Payne by Stacy Gail <— Bev also found this one! “Then just saw a rec for another of hers called House of Payne that looks good”

And then here are random finds!

  • Me Before You: A Novel by Jojo Moyes <— One of my (our) absolute faaaaaaaavorite sob-inducers is on sale right now. Absolutely 5 stars my friends! (my review)
  • When Darkness Comes (Guardians of Eternity) by Alexandra Ivy <— 10 books in the Guardians of Eternity Series are on SUPER SALE! Michelle found us this DEAL! “Hey Maryse: 10 books in the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy are on sale today in the Amazon daily deal’
  • Dirty (The Five-Part Serial Bundle) by Cheryl McIntyre <— Kat found us this one saying: “All parts of the serial in one bundled book”
  • Playing Games (A Games Novel Book 2) by Jessica Clare/Jill Myles <— Aimee found us this super-sale!!
  • Heated: A Most Wanted Novel by J. Kenner <— and this one! Aimee says: “been watching this one for awhile” … “One look and I was in trouble. One touch and I was hooked. One night and I became his.And now that I’ve fallen, there’s no going back.
  • Beautiful Failure (Beautiful Series Book 1) by Mariah Cole <— Aimee found us this one, too, saying: “…rated pretty high and looks interesting…anyone read it?”! Here’s a bit from the blurb: “…my mother’s dying words to me were “You’re going to end up just like me one day. A beautiful nothing.” She was right.
  • True Love Story by Willow Aster <— One of my angsty favs from a year or 2 ago and it’s on SUPER-SALE!! (my review)
  • In the Fields by Willow Aster <— and this one, too! I haven’t read it yet… but Aimee found it, too saying: “..not sure who recommended this book last year…but rated 4.9 stars and looked interesting.” and Amy loved it! “In the Fields was very different for me (set in 1971 and deals with racism) but so worth the read. Think Sweet Gum Tree feels. Small town, old-fashioned views and opinions, heartbreak, etc. Solid 4 stars.”
  • At Your Beck & Call by Jane Harvey-Berrick <— Rose recommends it and it’s on super-sale! “Maryse have you ever read Jane Harvey-Berricks at your beck and call? It’s about a male escort. It’s a bloody fantastic read. Plus it’s on sale.”
  • Tease by Missy Johnson <— speaking of MALE ESCORTS, Lauren went nuts for this one! “Have you ever read Tease by Missy Johnson? It’s about a male escort…most of his clients are wealthy and/or famous (one is a famous 19yr old pop star who is always in the tabloids) & his sister’s best friend (who he’s always had a crush on) shows back up in town after a divorce (they are all in their 20′s) & they become roommates since she needs a place to live & he has the room….they sleep together then start dating…I won’t tell anymore but it’s SOOOOO good! Oh, his family has no idea he’s an escort, he does it because his mom is sick & her treatment is expensive. There’s a sequel featuring his client, the famous pop star.
  • Saving Dallas: Book 1 by Kim Jones <— Mary Ann found out these are on super-sale: “Book 1-3 Saving Dallas by Kim Jones are on sale

GAH! I’m gonna need about 20 hours to organize my Kindle app and update my spreadsheets after all the one-clicking I’ve done over the past few days. You ladies are the best!!! *muah*

I read Almost by Anne Eliot a while back, and I don’t remember *too* much as far as the writing, character development, etc., but I do remember liking it.

Maryse and all my other makeup-loving friends!! Remember the Urban Decay Smoked Eyeshadow Palette that was on sale the other day for $20, normally $49? It’s going to be on sale tomorrow at for $20!! :D

I went out in left field again…. I had an itch for a teacher/student romance, and found this: Roam Series. It’s not new… it came out a year ago… but it has everything I love in one book! Paranormal elements? check… Teacher/student older/younger thingy? check…. Time Travel (like Regin and her Berserker or Time Traveler’s Wife)? check… just started it, but liking it so far… keeping fingers crossed that I found a good one… :-)

Tessa December 1, 2014 at 10:59 AM

Michelle s! Facade was really good. I’m just glad I don’t have to wait long before book 2. December 5 is not that long to wait.

I just finished the Saviour box set by Lesley Jones (Saviour/Resolution) that is on sale for 99 cents and really enjoyed it. If you liked her book Carnage, then I would recommend this set.

bev December 2, 2014 at 12:01 AM

Finished another. Feel like I’m getting my reading mojo back, lol.
I think my next few will be:
The Year we Fell Down, finally.
Without Words Another by this author was one of my first ebooks and loved it, so happy to revisit.
Starting Fires, a 4 star couldn’t resist.
Simply Irresistible, a little Christmas.
Sticking to this in some order.

MichelleS December 2, 2014 at 9:56 AM

Michelle – ooh the KA books – I love that series – can’t wait for the third one to come out – paranormal and an irish accent! I was in heaven!

Speaking of heaven, you guys…. you guys!!!! I am loving this book ‘Roam’ – OMG. I almost fainted at 59% from overheating – and it was fairly innocent compared to our usual smut-o-meter. I can’t stop thinking about it and talking about it. My poor hubby had to hear the whole story so far. LOL. It even has that love triangle that some of us (cough cough) hate – but I love!! GAH. It’s such a find. Might be the find of the season? or year? for me anyway…. and AMY and MICHELLE… due to your love of the Covenant series, I am highly recommending this one to you two. Same feel. More for me, actually. So much action. So many twists. Steamy without being explicit. YUM. Can you tell I am excited, or what?

MichelleS December 2, 2014 at 10:01 AM

More “Roam” talk, because I am obsessed, I tell ya’….

He’s 27, well, he’s actually 680-something, but his body is stcuk at 27 (perfect). And he’s a big guy (I love big guys). She is 17 and a senior in this life… yup, I said it… this life. It’s her 7th, BTW. She doesn’t now it yet. He has to find her and save her and their BABY – uh huh – bay-bee….. to save the world. But she has a boyfriend that she has loved since kindergarten who is just perfect! He takes a job at her high school as her history teacher to keep an eye on her so he can protect her because the prophecy also involves some bad dudes who want to kill her and prevent this baby from happening. He has failed to save her SIX times (so tragic). He is determined to save her this time. That’s why he is so close so early! And the fun begins…. crazy, whirlwind, forbidden, paranormal, time travel, teacher/student, love triangle… I am seriously obsessed!! Someone else read it so I know I am not crazy.

Michelle December 2, 2014 at 11:13 AM

Umm it’s paranormal and has MichelleS freaking out…andddd click. I see another book too – wonder if it will be a series or if that is the end? I can’t wait for the third KA book either – it’s been too long in between books! Oh and I just got an email today that Black Swam Book 8 comes out the end of this year yeyyy! I have a strict list to get through this week with borrows and such but asap I will dive into Roam :D

Julie I loved that series too – anything Lesley Jones I will buy now so I’m anxiously awaiting a new book from her!

Nooooo I missed a Laura Kinsale sale…*sobs* why didn’t I see this comment…oh complete fail on my part Bev :(

MichelleS December 2, 2014 at 12:25 PM

Michelle – SQUEEEEEE!!! yay – I just finished – I actually called in sick today- I kid you not. I couldn’t sleep. This book had me in knots. It was fan-freaking-tastic. 5 stars!!! Yes, it ends with an “oh no” and I have already downloaded book two… I have no idea how many are planned or if this is it, but I’m kind of glad. I am not ready to leave West and Roam. I highlighted everywhere and when those two were together my panties got soaked. And the dialogue and angst was totally believable. I’m a happy PNR dork right now.

MichelleS December 2, 2014 at 2:15 PM

Michelle said, “wonder if it will be a series or if that is the end?” ….

I did a bit of research and I’m not 100% sure, but it looks like book one and two are West and Roam’s story. Then there is a novella from his POV. And then there are subsequent books about other characters. I think. But… only books one and two are on amazon!!! I’m already in withdrawals. Maybe Maryse can convince the author to put her work back on? Maryse?

Fabi December 2, 2014 at 5:01 PM

HOW did I miss this thread?!!! If it wasn’t for Bev’s question of Roam on today’s thread I would have totally missed out. Gah!

Thank you MichelleS! I’m getting Roam right now.

Rant warning:
Dark Prince is going to have to be a dnf at least for right now because I’m so pissed at Dorian’s lies and deceptions and omissions and the weak heroine who “just can’t resist” AND the author who writes heroines like that.
Rant over. Ok I feel better – I think

I WILL once I get Roam. :-)

Michelle December 2, 2014 at 6:04 PM

MichelleS type the actual author name to search amazon and all six books come up and they seem to be about Roam until the end…at least her name was in the blurb for books 1,2,3, and 6 I believe. I see a box set when I google but amazon doesn’t have it.

Fabi, are you reading Roam now…if you are, you might just tempt me to abort my current read, Beholden, which is really good and squeeze it in this week.

Fabi December 2, 2014 at 7:35 PM

Michelle I’m starting Roam when I get home from work tonight. Would love a buddy read. :-)

Michelle December 2, 2014 at 8:39 PM

Alright I’m in Fabi just downloaded :) I’m going to finish Beholden first since I only have about 30% left and then it’s go time! I’m ready to have my paranormal socks knocked off!

Amy December 2, 2014 at 8:54 PM

Cheryl, I saw that palette and I want it as well!! Urban Decay, MAC, Bare Minerals/Escentuals, Clinique, Too Faced, YSL…I have way too much fun with makeup!

MichelleS, Roam looks great! What would I do without you ladies and your recs??

Oh Fabi, stick with Dark Prince! Pretty please with a cherry martini on top?? If you are still furious by the end then you can take it out on me. ;)

Fabi December 2, 2014 at 9:14 PM

Michelle I’m headed home now so we will likely be starting at the same time. Weeeee so excited.

Amy I’ll get back to Dark Prince after my temper cools off. I promise! I got to 73% on it. But I need a break from that heroine.
