I keep hearing about “Warprize” since the “What to read after Game of Thrones & Golden Dynasty” post, and everyone is LOVING it. MichelleS is hooked!! “Sniffle Sniffle. Just finished second book in The Chronicles of the Warlands series. Stupid plague. At least Simus is living it up at the castle that randy guy! I love all the supporting characters in this series. Moving on to the next one. Why are these still 8 bucks? This series is 8 years old!!! ARGH! Book budget blown with this series.” (wow… it MUST be good!!) 😀- Louder Than Love (Love & Steel Novel, A) by Jessica Topper <— TRUELY AWESOME ROMANCE READ ALERT! It has everything I love… and just enough of it. One of my favorites from a year or two ago and Lisa just discovered it! “I just wanted to share….just finished Louder Than Love by Jessica Topper and it was sooooo good. The cover and blub made me think it was another light rock star read but it is so much more. Just beautifully written, sad and tender and hopeful. Lovely.” (I gave it 4.5 stars! My review)

Yes I have, Bev! 😀 It was such a cute movie and those pies…yummmmmmy! I actually found recipes online specific to the movie and tried out the Falling In Love pie, the Mermaid something pie and the Brie and ham pie. O. M. G. I was such a glutton with the FIL pie and ate so much of it that hubby didn’t get any “love” that night…kinda defeated the purpose of it, LOL!!!

I thought it was great. And yes the pies! Those scenes were great. I was just reminded of it and thought she is kind of an Amy heroine, lol. I loved her journey and loved the ending. That one letter she wrote, Dear Damn *spoiler* lol.
Presently Perfect by Alison G. Bailey is $0.99! Haven’t read, but interested since I loved Present Perfect so much.
Also, The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty is $3.99 and was around $10 for a while. My friends have raved about this book.

I AM having a fun Friday night! I just made myself a strawberry martini with fresh strawberries and now I’m getting ready to start reading! Hubby is gone so I went with some friends earlier for shopping and sushi, and now I’m settling in to read…well, I have no idea what. My narrowed-down list up there should include 47 Things, but after UY (oh, the feels!) I think I need something a little different.
Oh, and I liked the ending of Waitress as well. It was fitting. What’s funny is that it’s a perfect example of how I may feel *some* with a movie, but I feel so much more with reading. If that had been a book, my gut would have been a little twisted and my heart probably would have hurt a bit, but with the movie I just felt all happy and content. 😉
By the way Bev, did you know that the lady who played her friend, the one with the glasses, was the writer/producer and was murdered before the movie even released. So sad. 🙁
Aaaaaand on a lighter note, LMD was GREAT!!! And I’m definitely getting The Husband’s Secret…I read her book Big Little Lies and really, really liked it. Thank you, Andee!!

Amy have you read the Rock Chicks? Indy & Ally, bffs, have a favorite sushi place. It has the beast sushi, is really snobby and so requires the best little dresses and high heels. Its funny how it’s fun to read about even though I find fish gross, never wear dresses, never wear heals, or do my face, lol. IRL I’d rather hang at the pizza place they go to. 🙂

I’m only 17% in, but really good so far. It is definitely taking its time to set up. Not “slow” but allowing me to get to know the characters and place. The writing and tone is great.

MichelleS, yes. Great movie. The author dedicated the book to her, “three favorite Texans”. One being George Strait and so that is how I’m kinda “seeing” him. Which is good cause seriously GS is so handsome. The book is set in Tennessee, though.

Finished The Traveling Man and liked it. I have to say I liked the first part better (when they were kids and then teenagers) but overall it was a good book. 3.75/5. I have The Traveling Woman ready but I think Tyrant will go first 😀

Just finished Tyrant and wow! It was pretty intense and dark. There’s no cliffhanger so yayy! If you like dark, gritty, sexy stories then this series is for you! Can’t wait for Bear’s story!
