Alabama Amy: I’ve read this and I highly recommend it for the Low-Angsters and comedy lovers out there. This is probably my “go to” category is for an easy and enjoyable read 🙂 maybe it’s because I’m not too far out of college but I always find these characters very likeable and relatable almost like the old CW shows
Teri: I’m right in the middle of this book! Really enjoying it. The author has a way of taking you as a reader to points where you say ” omg this guy is a crude douchebag and I don’t like him” but then the next second you are totally charmed by him along with the h. Not an easy feat for an author.

Kim: American Queen by Sierra Simone is the best book I’ve read this year. I stopped reading for a bit I was in such a funk and picked AQ up. I was hooked from the first paragraph.
Julie o: Just finished American Queen and was surprised and shocked. Let’s just say it was nothing like I thought it would be.
Some of your readers won’t approve. And I didn’t even know that something was even possible that happened near the end. I must be naive. Also a warning…..ends on a big cliffhanger!!!!! But I loved the book, very good writing.

Jan: I recently reread Something Wonderful by the same author (Judith McNaught). OMG, the funniest scene when he’s asking his new young wife if she knows how babies are made (she doesn’t….:) OMG literally laugh out loud funny. It’s worth reading it just for that super awkward, super sweet scene
- HALO by R.C. Stephens <— BOOK IS EVEN BETTER THAN ITS AWESOME BLURB ALERT!! Recent release that totally gave me a blurb-jolt and while I haven’t read it yet, we’re getting some great feedback now. In fact, Jenn 5-STARRED THE HECK OUT OF IT!
Jenn: Well I just finished “Halo” and although I have to say it was the blurb that initially attracted me to this book; it was so not what I was expecting…it was so much more!!!!! I do not want to give anything a way; just know for me at least this was definitely a very powerful-heart warming and heart wrenching story that I will remember. 5******

Allison: …has anyone else read Wrong by Jana Aston? It was yummy. …So, the book is super fun. And super hot. I was totally in lust with the H. My only minor complaint was that it wrapped up so easily. Such minor angst over something that I thought would have been more angst-worthy. But it was really well-written and fun. If you need a break from a heavy read, it’s the perfect book!
Blood Shadows (Blackthorn Dark Paranormal Romance Series Book 1) by Lindsay J. Pryor <— THE ALPHA-VAMPIRE IN THIS BOOK WON OUT AS BEST ALPHA EVEN AGAINST BARRONS & OUR OTHER FAVORITES!!!! Okay so THIS series has been a revelation to me!! It was the answer to one of today’s reader questions (a best “alpha-paranormal” contest, and THIS vampire beat out BARRONS!!). *thud* And now that I’ve backtracked over my series reading order post, I see that a fellow reader also said it was better than The Black Dagger Brotherhood. WHAT WHAT WHAAAAAAAAT??!! *thud* HOLY MOLY. I need some of that paranormal-alpha-male loving feeling STAT! P.S. Book #1 us super-bargain priced today! AND! Here’s the series reading order (where two readers – one… a popular author – said better than BDB!).

- For the Win (The Perfect Play Series Book 1) by Sara Rider <— SOCCER STAR ROMANCE ALERT! Alabama-Amy found us this one!! (And yep… we have TWO Amy’s now). 😉 And they both have great taste in books, I must say. She recommends this one saying:
Alabama-Amy: I also purchased a book from an author I had never heard of, Sara Rider. It’s called For the Win. It’s the first book in a sports romance series and is definitely for me fellow low-angsters. It was light and funny with likeable characters. Definitely romantic comedy and I enjoyed it enough to buy the second book.
Find Me Alastar by T L Swan <— RECENT RELEASE WITH AMAZING REVIEWS!!! HOLY MOLY. The blurb doesn’t say much but it sure does intrigue me, and just checking out the number of reviews (almost ALL 5 stars, and just a few 4 stars and nothing lower), I think I HAVE TO HAVE IT. “He was the best experience of my sheltered life. But do you ever really know who someone is? What if the story I know isn’t the story at all? I thought I knew him. I was wrong.” I kind of have shivers right now. And Samantha 5-starred it!

This book was certainly an emotional journey that had me laughing out loud one minute and reaching for the Kleenex the next…I love when I read a book that fundamentally challenges and changes me. Sally: Maryse and ladies I am binge reading The Blood & Roses series by Callie Hart. You all know I only start screaming from the roof tops when I am hooked. I. Can’t. Stop. Reading!! Loving these HARD ladies if you haven’t read them yet GET ON IT! I’m on book 3 and Zeth is easily becoming my new book boyfriend. It’s sexy and with an interesting storyline love the flow. Does anyone know why God Shaped Hole isn’t in Kindle format? I found a blog post by Maryse long ago “announcing” it being available in Kindle format, but it doesn’t seem to be now.
I don’t know but I will try and find out. I remember when I looked it up for a recent “list” and noticed it wasn’t in Kindle anymore. Luckily I purchased it back when it was, but lemme research… 😀
Does anyone know why only MichelleS and I have read Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda? We read it long ago “announcing” our love for it, but no one seems to be interested now.

How to Kill a Rockstar is On my TBR…. I bought it after seeing it recommended but THEN I saw some comments making me think it has THE ONE SINGLE element that ruins me and I avoid like Costco on a Sunday afternoon. I look at it weekly and my finger hovers….but I just can’t. I’ve got to pull up my big girl panties, put on my favorite MAC Blankety lipstick, and just go for it. Someday. Maybe. Eventually.

No I read Rockstar first (and it came after). It’s kind of a “cameo” or an “easter egg” that one character crosses over… 😉 and it’s momentary and only those that read God Shaped Hole would even notice it.
In fact… THAT was the spoiler I read. But it’s such a clever thing that it makes it that I want to read God Shaped Hole anyway.

I haven’t read GSH, but did read HTKARS, so I’m really curious what the easter egg is.
1. Ate pizza tonight- friday is always pizza night.
2. Read a book about rock climbing while I was painting my stairway from 2nd to 3rd floor using scaffolding and really tall ladder.(well not at the same time)
3. Treated myself to Sephora shopping today and 20% off everything purchased!!

1.) I fell asleep by 10pm, and now I’m wide awake.

Hey all. Hope you’re all doing well. Sorry I’ve been MIA, I had a death in the family and it’s been a hard week.
Trying to channel my feelings into writing…no, its not a GreyMarmy book, lol, although I am wearing a grey t-shirt. Way behind on the #NaNoWriMo goal, but I was able to write yesterday and hope I will be able to get some more words down today.
My 3 things…
1. Swiss Miss Peppermint Hot Cocoa in the Keurig is pretty much like an ‘o’ in a cup. (I may have used that line in my book)
2. This time change thing… I don’t like it. Pick one way and stick with it! My house is still messed up a week later.
3. My nano-goal today is 3500 words, at least… I’d like to push for 5k, but we’ll see.
3 things:
1. Went to see Trolls with my fave “date” (my 16 yr old son).
2. I am in desperate need of a pedicure.
3. Going to Halloween party today. (No, that’s not a typo. A Halloween party, two weeks after Halloween)
Anti-Amy, I was same way with How to Kill a Rockstar. It seemed like EVERYONE was raving about it and despite the “you know what I also avoid”, I sucked it up and tried it. It was a DNF for me. I couldn’t get into it at all. 🙁
I have no idea if I will ever go back and retry any of my DNFs. Cause who knows, maybe in a different mood/mindset the book might actually work??
Hellooooo! Dropping in….again. Geez it has been crazy around my world. Good news is this past week is DONE. done. DONE. 3:30 am work mornings to baseball tryouts for child to teaching a class of ADULTS! Ha! Not in my comfort zone…BUT I made it to the other side…

1. I am addicted to hazelnut coffee but only in the mornings since this is the ONLY caffeine I drink.
2. if I THINK I can make something, I refuse to buy it. (Example: I made my girl’s Supergirl Halloween costume because I am THAT mom)
3. I often pause when reading even if I am engrossed in a book to take mini breaks to check Pinterest, FB or Instagram …and I’m not sure why….
My Veteran’s Day read was…HALO! And I LOVED it….definitely a 4.5 star for me! Broken soldier meets new mom whose Seal hubs divorced her while pregnant despite being the love of her life and his life….because…yes…the hubs was broken too! Yet! Despite the fact that the hubs broke her….she was strong. Normally don’t like the hopping back and forth to visit the past in books but it worked well for this one …it definitely gives you a bond with the hubs and makes you wonder why,why,why would he divorce her???? And the NEW broken soldier…just yum! LOVED it…go ahead…read it! Jenn liked it too!
Hey y’all from Poland! The hubs and I are here for 3 weeks visiting family! So exciting! He hasn’t been back in 19 years, me only 8, but meeting his older brother and his family for the first time….eeeep
Simon versus the Homospsiens Agrnda was brilliant, Bev! Wonderful coming of age book. Loved it. Not sure why no one is biting. Especially Fabi!!!!

1. I’m going Christmas shopping today, ugh! I detest shopping.
2. I’m starting to look up recipes for side dishes for Thanksgiving AS IF I’m actually going to make them!
3. I really want to see the new movie Arrival… she’s a “linguist”… which I always thought sounds kinda dirty! But right up my SLP alley!

Hey Michelle, my husband and I went on a date last night. So sweet. (We’ve been married for a LOT of years!) Anyway, we went to see Arrival and I LOVED IT. Intriguing, mysterious, moving. My hubby loved it too! Then we went out and had dinner. Really nice night 😀
I am DYING to see Arrival. TOTALLY my kind of movie. I just know it.

I finished The Hard Count this morning. Really lovely story with some themes that are really relevant – especially this week. A five star read for me.
Ok, I’m reporting back now that I’ve read The Delphi Effect by Rysa Walker. So Amazon Kindle says it’s 4.99 but the author said on her fb page the next couple days it’s on sale for 1.99 if you put the code DELPHIEFFECT in at checkout. And I loved it!! So I was a little wrong going in thinking it was paranormal, it’s YA but more science fiction fantasy. And SOO good you guys. It was a little reminicient of like The Darkest Minds and a few others that I can’t put my finger on, maybe a little Mara Dyer since I’ve read that more recently, but definitely is its own book. It is the start of a series but doesn’t end in a huge cliffy though I already want book 2. I really liked her writing, she took the time to make you really invested in all of the characters, there’s a lot of adventure, with just a hint of a beginning romance. Grab this book!!

So…I finished my ARC of Beautifully Broken. It’s a definite 4 star read for me. It was a very well written story. The plotline itself was a bit formulaic – done one thousand times over, but it was still well done with characters that you wanted to know more about. Damaged girl (with a secret and a lot of angst over it in her past) meets the most beautiful man on earth. Insta-attraction and “the best sex ever” happens. They grow closer, but then the plot twist. A taboo relationship that sets up a plot to keep them apart…but they persevere and overcome, until the pivotal moment where the great “misunderstanding and miscommunication” happens, and our heart breaks in little pieces and we hold our breath and hope for their happily ever after. However, the characters themselves are what kept me reading and invested in this couple. Both the characters were witty and charming. I laughed, I smiled, I shed a couple tears.
