OMG Taxi sounds amazing! One clicking!
Tessa, I can’t wait ’till you meet Lester and Meg in The Trials of Apollo. I’ve only just started but Apollo is a riot and Meg is cuteness itself. So funny. Oh and Percy is there i n the beginning. π
Oooh, I can’t wait. It might take two months, though, before that book goes through all the holds. Maybe less. After or later, you have to read Magnus Chase. It’s got the full action and humor. The beginning had me laughing so hard. It basically is a warning. This is the first paragraph.
Yeah, I know. you guys are going to read about how I died in agony, and you’re going to be like, “Wow! That sounds cool, Magnus! Can I die in agony too?”
That sounds great Tessa. I’m adding it now. This one is funny like that too. Apollo is hilariously full of himself. Especially when he finds himself in the body of a 16 year old boy with ACNE. haaa
Oh, and you might try signing up for it on Booklending.com. Who knows, you may get it quicker that way.
Are you reading The Sword of Summer?
Yes! I kid you not, as the action is deadly and scary, I’m laughing my butt off. That first paragraph says everything about the writing. Apollo was a hilarious character in the Percy and Heroes books, so I can imagine. I do have it requested on booklending, but who knows how long that will take. π
Hey.
I haven’t read any of these books yet, but this sounds like an insanely good deal: Magic and Mayhem: 21 Fantasy Novels for $0.99 (on pre-order)
https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Mayhem-Fantasy-Internationally-Bestselling-ebook/dp/B01F3BYKTW?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01F3BYKTW&linkCode=as2&linkId=ZMINHE4X4RXSRTMS&redirect=true&ref_=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl&tag=magicandmayhem-20
Hey bev. π
Just finished Paper Princess and yep, that was quite the cliffy. You know the only reason why I’m not freaking out? ‘Cause my ridiculous, over-stimulated brain figured out what was going on in that last scene. At least, I’m 99% sure. And if I’m wrong, I’ll drink a crow cocktail. Hell, I’ll drink one anyways just ’cause it’s FRIDAY!!!!!! π Those two authors are great by themselves, but put them together and it’s even more fun.
Did anyone else get FCH vibes from Paper Princess? Sam/Mason/Logan, Ella/Reed/Easton. Maybe it’s just me though.
Okay, now what to read? I truly have no idea what I’m in the mood for…maybe Tessa’s angsty rec When Nothing Is All You’ve Got… *shrug*
And Bev…before you say anything, I have Sherlock queued up in Netflix. π
I’m reading J. Sterling’s “Dear Heart, I Hate You” (yes Amy… author of Jack f’n Carter) and it’s SO good. Like… a world of difference for me, flow-wise and writing-wise from her first “Jack Carter” book.
I’m so into this!!!
*looks up The Trials of Apollo*
Maryse, it’s YA fantasy by Rick Riorden
Amy, you found Sherlock on Netflix?
*snort* Like making my blood pressure shoot up, do ya Maryse? BRAT! π
I may have hated HIM *grrrrrrrrr* but I did really like the book I read of hers before HIM…Chance Encounters (with the old cover, that’s how long ago). And I’m such a hypocrite ’cause I didn’t hate the h in CE. *shrugs* I might just have to read Dear Heart, but I’m holding off until I see your review…
For now, I think I’ve found my next read! Slammer, recommended on Maryse’s post about books where the anti-hero or anti-heroine doesn’t get the girl or guy. Yep, I’m heading to the Slammer with my trusty bottle of cake vodka! π
Whoot.
Fabi, yep! It’s on the instant watch queue (or whatever it’s called)…9 episodes are available.
*snorts at Bev’s comment*
And waiting for Bev’s retort to my Slammer comment in 3…2…
The one I ended up listening to is Wireless by L.A. Witt. It’s a freebie I bought the audio for. I can’t believe how good it is! It’s mm but depending on where the story goes it may venture into erotica territory. It’s a dystopian world where skin to skin contact is outlawed. Sex allowed only in Sim machines with VR. Of course, there’s an underground. If the flapper generation created an underground for illigal liquor, you can imagine a society with illegal sex is going to do the same.
And YES, I’m reading a YA with preteen characters and an erotic mm at the same time. No confusion here. One has mythical gods and the other space age machines. :-/
Amy! I can’t believe you found Sherlock on Netflix. My search skills are pathetic. I’m going to look again this weekend.
Er, I just typed “Sherlock” into the search bar… *grins sheepishly*
Ok…last comment before I go finish up my work and head home.
I REALLY recommend Intent by A.D. Justice. Maryse linked it above. It has such an awesome romance with twists and turns and awesome reveals. Plus, it starts out with a big BANG.
Slammer huh? Tell me what you think when you’re done.
Sure…rub it in…it’s good skin tenderizer …errr…moisturiser. π
Will do, Tessa!
*rubs yummy scented lotion onto Fabi’s hand* At least it smells pretty. π And I just clicked Intent.
Maryse you should see how many Rick Riordan books there are. Though, of course, I’m jealous because Fabi is reading the latest and I have to wait a little while. π
Amy, what did you think of Paper Princess?
OMG cake vodka. That’s so nice.
LOL Fabi. That book… I… yeah…
*rushes to look it up*
To trade in prison.
*snort* Amy.
I’ve know I had Sherlock this whole time. I even put it in my “watch list”
Now if I could just actually WATCH TV I’d make bev SO happy. I wanna make bev happy.
And here’s the thing. YOU KNOW we’re gonna love it. You just know it.
*sniffs Fabi’s hand*
mmmm… is that sugar cookie? I love dessert smells.
*screech*
Wait.
Back this crazy train up.
Is Amy reading a book she kknows a spoiler about??
Bev – aaaaaand she (Amy) read a book that had a cliffy – and didn’t put her over the edge… I know I know… what happened to our Amy, right?
Happy Friday ladies. I am hoping to finish Demon Bound tonight, but I am not bale to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to read like I used to be able to.
After that I need a good old alpha male romance. Like classic KA. I didn’t read Sebring yet. Anyone here read it? Is it worth a shot? Or maybe some good alpha biker?
Nuh-uh…*waggles finger* I’m still here in all my CH-dislikin’ and spoiler-hatin’ glory. π I’m too overwhelmed from school for the CH to make me spazz out, although I AM irritated by it even though I knew it was coming…then I read the description for the next book (Broken Prince) on GR and was all, really? I think I must be in b!tch mode today ’cause I read the authors’ first answer in the “blurb” and just thought, “yeah, okay, *pblllllllt!*” while giving my iPad screen a thumbs down. Because I’m mature like that. See? B!tch mode.
mmmm yes it does smell yummy π
oooohhhh, Amy is going to get piiiiiiised if she reads the beginning of Intent.
But don’t worry Amy. The h is awesome! I think I’m going to pull a Bev on that book and reread favorite scenes now and then.
Bev…I think you’re catching. π
hahaha Maryse we see you sneaking that erotica book over there
Like mono.
And as for Slammer, I don’t look at what I know about it as spoilerish…more like a carrot (or martini) being dangled in front of me to tempt me with the promise of an ending that probably won’t be tied up in a sweet little HEA bow. And y’all know I love that and love going into a book knowing that kind of thing. And ya know, Fabi, that you just tempted me even more with that comment about the beginning of intent. π
Tessa, I really REALLY liked it! Like I said, it had FCH feels for me which was fun. I *loved* how the back-and-forth between the jerkface and his jerkface brothers went on for a good while.
Maryse…actually, it’s cake scented lotion. Marshmallow cake to be exact. π
Marshmallow is my favorite. Not to eat. To smell.
Although to eat if it’s melted amongst other things. Yum.
Now I want marshmallow.
Fabi – is The Sword of Summer the newest Rick Riordan book? Any idea when it will be released? Passing on my book love to my youngun. He loves this series!
Finished Tyed by LJ Shen….I really like this author….keep me interested all the way through. Several OMG moments, lots of wanting to reach in and shake the h, little bit of angst and a MMA fighter. Overall enjoyed it…just wished the ending had a little bit more fluff to it.
Seems like the last several I have read have had that ‘The End’ tacked on and left wanting just a little bit more…..
DG, The Trials of Apollo is the new Rick Riordan book. It’s book 1 in a new series. But you know all the old characters will make an appearance. π
It came out last Tuesday or May 3rd whenever that was.
oooohhhh DG, Intent had the most perfect ending ever. The author wrote Epilogues to the Epilogues, or at least it seemed that way. She went right along tying knots to each and every of the crazies. Maybe I loved it so much because it was such a complete novel, start to finish.
Awesome Fabi! Sounds like we will be hitting up the bookstore (my happy place) real soon.
Intent…I don’t remember this one. Might just have to check it out. I love a good epilogue …most will give you enough meat that it doesn’t feel like you speed across the finish line. Not enjoying the kiss/makeup/the end I have been hitting a lot lately!
Wow Fabi!!!! *excitedly high fives Fabi*. That cover enough would grab my attention not to mention that BLURB on top of listed as 5 star on Amazon! YAY me! YAY Fabi!
Amy, I do see the FCH connection. It’s the brothers bonding thing that I admit totally appeals. All the feels were there.
DG. Sword of Summer is the Chase Magnus book, which is set with Norse Gods rather than Greek or Roman. π
Right DG? I’m a total titles girl so the book’s intriguing title caught my eye. Then, when I clicked on Maryse’s link and saw that cover…well, hell, who needs blurbs. π
Tessa – my son has read both those series….so I get them confused all the time. (Bookworm in the making!).
Fabi, I thought I was the only one about the titles and covers….yeah, all It takes is one or the other to catch my eye and THEN I read the blurb! But you know a good cover never hurts…*winks*
I like the necklace and wish the earring was one too. But thought the makeup lovers would like one item on here. Strong colors though.
https://bookriot.com/2016/05/05/book-fetish-volume-205/
It would make me crazy happy if you all watched Sherlock.
Mmm. Marshmallows.
I feel like we haven’t done a be in a long while. Or have I just been missing/looking the other way? We should totally plan one.
It’s been a while since we all said Ooooh over a book at the same time. That’s probably why the lack.
Yeh Michelle S I’ve read Sebring and liked it. Not as much as Knight, but KA does manage to somehow make Nick Sebring seem sympathetic when he was so unlikeable in Knight. Can’t remember his lady lerve’s name, but she is from a really bad*ss crime family and trapped in her life and Nick saves her and she kind of saves Nick, too. I liked the book. Pretty angsty in parts from memory. Well worth a read.
Guys if u read a court of thorns and roses then the second book is even better for me !!! Esp if u like a kick butt female protagonists with hot fairies all around her.
Now unto trials of Apollo and then next weeks release of leisa Ravens book !! Sigh I love May releases.
Welp, I’ve finished my R S Grey fest. Read Scoring Wilder and The Summer Games back-to-back. Liked them both. The first one especially is full of funny one-liners and wisecracks. And I liked that SW was fresh in my mind when I read TSG because we revisit some of the same characters (in minor roles, admittedly), which was nice.
TSG (or both books, really) are sweet, light, funny romances. TSG has a nice bee-arch of a baddie in Caroline and you just love to hate her. But a sweet HEA. Aaaahhh. *Idly sips at glass of sauv blanc*
There’s apparently a third book in the series due out in August. I will be happy to read that, too.
Hmmm. Now to keep my promise. Ok, yes. I’ve started Golden Dynasty. I’m keeping an open mind, but *ducks for cover* I’m not fully loving it yet. I think there is a reason I haven’t read KA’s fantasy type books. They don’t seem to be my *bag* so to speak. Yeh, Lahn seems to be pretty hot, but I’m struggling with the “willing suspension of disbelief” so far. This world hasn’t sucked me in yet. Buuttt I’ll keep trying as I know this book is so beloved by so many. Maybe I’m just not in the zone yet??
I started Slammer bc of the comments the other day and found out I had already purchased it, of course! Likin it so far
Head Start by Freya Barker is amazing!!! Smoking hot and full of suspense! Her heroes are hot as hell and her heroines are strong and sassy. I love her cedar tree series and this is the last book in the series and she knocked it out of the park with this one!
Headstart by Freya barker well worth the read. Kept end me engaged reading late into the night.
I absolutely loved Freya Barker’s Head Start! What a way to end a standalone series
The Empty Jar by M. Leighton is LIVE, out early ahead of its Sunday release day!!! This is such a beautifully written and personal story!
Thank you Brandi!!! It sounds SO FREAKING amazing and I love that author. I’m scared!!! π I posted it right at the top as “breaking news”
FYI free audiobooks for the summer – Jellicoe Road is on there π
https://www.audiobooksync.com/
OMG Michelle, that’s incredible! But I don’t get how it works. When I click on an Audible or Amazon link for one of the books on the list it shows up with a rather steep price. Have you downloaded any yet?
Michelle, do it!!! I’m not sure how it will translate to audio but that story just haunts me, lol.
So excited to see that you included Head Start by Freya Barker! It was a wonderful book and I hope y’all give it a chance!!
Hey ladies! Been MIA lately. I’m 50% into Spinning Out and don’t want to put it down! It kinda reminds me of Aly Martinez’s Wrecked and Ruined Series (which was awesome and unforgettable)!
Totally 1-clicked Intent and that is definitely my next read based on fabi’s recommendation!
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
Hmm Fabi. I just clicked on the audiobook cover and then entered my name and email and it downloaded no problem. You need to have the overdrive app before you try to download.
Now I just have to wait until week 11 to get the book Bev π
Carnage by Lesley Jones is FREE
Week 11?
Yeah click the link I posted Bev. You get 2 free audiobooks a week for the summer and they are only available for a certain week. Jellicoe Road is free upcoming in July.
*claps hands*
C’mon ladies llet’s plan a br. Except for that book up there.^^
It sounds like a death book.
There has to be some book or books we can throw out there for consideration. Or is there a buzzy book coming down the pipe line?
I’ll Give You The Sun is really good, Michelle. Though I have a soft spot for her The Sky is Everwhere.
bev, I want to buddy-read too!!!
Agreed. Hey buddies. It’s time to choose a read. π
Yay! We have a buddy, now we need a read. And more buddies.
They’ve left us. Without even a dear John letter.
Ok, what kind of book are they in the mood for?
Fabi!!!!!! I am LOVING Intent!!!!!! Had me hooked right off the bat!
Would love to buddy read …after I finish Intent….
DG right? It just kicks off with a BANG. I though it kind of slowed down for a few pages idk maybe around 40% or so but then it picked right back up. So glad you’re enjoying it.
Maryse and ladies, I’ll buddy read anything y’all pick. I love group reads.
Michelle, my mistake was thinking they were all available now. I didn’t realize until my second look that it’s limited to 2 a week. I also thought we could download the Audible and Kindle versions. Now I’m on track with how it works. Thanks so much. Totally cool.
Guess what I just watched, Bev? Yup. First episode of Sherlock on Netflix.
So…. Loved it. But, it was like a movie! 90 minutes long. Are they all that long? Am I weird that I have the hots for Watson instead of Sherlock?
Hey, I want to BR with you guys! Let me know what and when we start! I’m in. Just finishing up Spinning Out (love!) and hope to start Intent tonight. …but I could squirrel, especially if you guys tell me what to read!
MichelleS, you are such a good girl watching Sherlock!
*pumps fist*
Yes!!
And yes they are. But only 3 eos a season so less time all together than other shows.
Watson is awesome.
A court of mist and fury has to be my number one favorite book OF THIS YEAR!!! I loved it so much I’m taking a vacation day for next year when book three comes out. Not even joking I must read the whole thing front to back no stopping!! Everyone should pick it up and PS it’s extra steamy.
Finished Carnival at Bray. Enjoyable, different than I thought. I’ve also been reading stories from My true love Gave to Me. Not the season, and usually I’m a stickler, but it’s been fun.
I want to stick with my list but Saving June by Hannah Herrington. Decisions.
I will join in on a BR. What are we going to read? Bev you picking?
A Court of Mist and Fury I will try but the first book didn’t blow me away or anything. Looking up Intent and I’ll Give You the Sun now…
Speaking of let’s pick a book and time. Anyone eyeing anything good? Any amazing releases coming out soonish?
Off to eat ice cream while I contemplate book problems.
Dang it MichelleS, “I” was going to be the first to cave and watch Sherlock tonight. lol I guess I’ll take second place.
Whoa.
I’m not sure I’m up to the pressure. Plus I keep leaning towards YA right now.
Saving June, Joyride, A History of Glitter and Blood, When we Collide, The Anatomical Shape of a Heart. And they are all on the $$ side.
Oh, but I do want to read Undecided by Julianna Keyes. Lots of positive reviews. NA.
Ooh ooh OOH!!!!
*bounces in seat and frantically waves hand*
I’ve got a buddy read suggestion! Pick me! Pick ME!
Amy.
What?!?
*shrugs and lifts out hands innocently*
I was picking you. Not on you, lol.
Oh. Okay. *giggle*
How about The Empty Jar? It just came out today…
Or we could all read Slammer?
After I finish Thirteen Reasons Why, that is. I’ve been hooked on it since the first page. Such a profound story. I just want to hug that poor girl.
Slammer really interests me. You know me and … endings. π Although I have NO real clue how that one ends but color me intrigued BIG TIME for it to be on that list.
Have you guys read Too Late yet? I’m halfway through. Not a CoHo usual that’s for sure. I’m loving it so far. Hating wattpad though…
R. Renee… I keep hearing that it’s SO different and SO good. I want to read it…
Hey guys! I am in a reading rut :/ Nothing is grabbing me! Help! Any suggestions? I dont mind if its PNR, contemporary, historical, NA, YA etc. I just want a book that blows my mind lol
No to the death book, Amy. I knew that’s what you were going to say.
Anne are you on GR so I can see what you’ve read/ like?
I would totally BR The Empty Jar, the reviews so far are mostly 5* It sounds like you will need emotional support for it too!
R.Renee I don’t have GR. I should open an account though.
OK Anne…you asked for it…just remember…you asked…
HOMINIDS by Robert J. Sawyer
CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR by Jean Fuel
ILLUMINAE by
ah, hell, here you go…28 all time favorites of mine.
Anne yes you should!! What do you like?
Phooey my link didn’t show up. Trying again…
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/20663288-fabi?shelf=all-time-favorites
You should be able to see that even without an account. I don’t have anything set to private.
Typo up there too, auto correct didn’t like Jean Auel’s last name.
Anne, some recent faves have been The Kraken King, The Darkest Part of the Forest, Isla and the Happily Ever After, Once Upon a Rose.
And again with Jellico Road & Simon vs The Homosapiens Agenda.
*crosses arms and makes pouty face*
Well at least Michelle said she would read it, Bev.
R. Renee I like anything that has a romantic element to it basically π
Fabi thank you!! Lovely list! I still haven’t read Surviving Raine!
Thank you Bev! Going to check those out.
Anne, my usual suspects are RUSH btw Emma Scott and anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Jeez. “Suggestions” not suspects, and “by” not btw. *shakes head* Wine.
Michelle doesn’t mind death books.
“No to the death book…” Come on Bev, wave goodbye to your comfort zone and join Amy and me over in ‘Welcome to Emotional Turmoil’ Population: 2
Nope.
Sometimes I can do it. Mostly side characters or, oddly, true stories.
But, yes usually are not cathartic for me. I just get blue.
And sometimes they make it too easy, you know? Like, grief isn’t beautiful or a happy ending, imo.
Though I do read and love books that deal with the themes. Jellicoe Road, Time Traveler’s Wife, The Sky is Everwhere.
Wild by Cheryl Strayed? That’s a wonderful book.
*stands next to Amy and mirrors her frustrated, pouty pose*
Lol, you ladies dive in.
Heck, one of the books I’m looking at deals with the aftermath of losing a loved one, so no judging.
*whispers*
Fabi, did you watch it?
Bev, almost done with the first episode. It’s so good!!!
*scoots closer to Michelle*
So, we’re on for Empty Jar…but not just yet for me. I need a feel-good book first because Thirteen Reasons Why just wrung me out emotionally. I kept holding out for a specific twist that would make it all better but…no. And now it just aches. π
*looks up “Thirteen Reasons Why”*
oooooooooooh….
I’m in for a Buddy Read of the Empty Jar!
*breathes in deep* Alright, I did read Slammer. I went in not knowing the ending. That’s why I want to know all of your reactions to it.
Can you believe I’m STILL reading Sword of Summer? It’s great, funny, action packed, and… I’m still reading it. *grins*
Fabi, what does VR mean… Back up in your post on the Sim machines?
I read Slammer a long time ago… I think…
Just read Exrated, it was meh, 3.5 stars.
I was going to do a reread of the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig to get my head of straight for Deception (book3) that just came out on Tuesday .but I’d rather participate in a buddy read!
VR commonly stands for virtual reality. It was a virtual reality simulation machine specifically made to induce orgasm.
(Did I really just say that?)
Tessa I’m still reading The Trials of Apollo too. I’d like to pick up Jean’s Billionaire rec, but I have to finish this one first since its a loan.
Midnight Star (Vampire Girl 2) by Karpov Kinrade is available. I’m starting that and continuing with my current read but totally up for BR of Empty Jar when you start Amy and Grey π or/and a BR with Bev etc. if you come up with one Bev’s delicate sensibilities can tolerate π
Don’t you guys hesitate a bit when it is all 5 * reviews, especially right out of the gate?
Fabi, you liked Sherlock!!!!
You watched a TV show, you are awesome.
hahaha I did. I had the TV on 3 times this week. lol
Sherlock’s character is super cool. He talks so fast though, I feel like I need to rewatch it just to catch more of his deductions. I feel like Watson every time S explains one “that’s amazing”.
I was afraid when it first started that it may not have enough action for me, but after the first few minutes it picked up speed. I’m looking forward to watching more episodes. Thanks for the push Bev.
I’m with Bev on the “death books”. I read romance novels for a reason. I want my HEA. If there’s grit & trials along the way, fine by me, but, dang it! There better be a HEA at the end. No death.
I’m stuck because I’m all over the place with my tastes right now. Last time I read the same author or a series back-to-back was the Roam series ages ago. That means while I may like a book, I don’t love it enough to keep on with that author or series. Hmmmmm…. Could I have ADD? What’s the last author you went crazy for & read back to back???
Fabi! I started Intent and only 15% in but loving it already!
I’ll BR The Empty Jar or whatever you guys decide! But since it was bev’s idea, I think we need to find one we all agree on which is going to be so hard!
You ladies can read the Empty Jar. I keep calling it the Bell Jar. What’s with jars and unhappy books?
Anyway, I won’t feel left out, lol.
MichelleS, I used to glom all the time, but not so much now. I did read 3 Laura Florand books in a row, or close enough.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!! And that includes all you pet Mommy’s too. (Maryse and Pim). π
I just finished Forever Pucked. More outrageouness and LOL moments. Now trying to decide between Intent and Spinning Out.
I’m in for a BR too, although I agree with Bev and MichelleS, I don’t mind the heartache/angst/loss but I want my HEA, no death at the end of my book. So I’m unsure about The Empty Jar. Also, what’s with the author’s comment, is this a personal account??
YAY!!! I’m a pet mommy. Thank you Cheryl!!! *hug*
Cheryl, I think her father passed away before she wrote the book.
Happy Mother’s Day ladies! Hope everyone has a great day!
Cheryl, I just finished Spinning Out and I’m at 20% of Intent and love both so I don’t think you can go wrong with your decision.
Happy Mother’s Day ladies!!! I’m spending today with my three kids!! Special note: Vampire Girl 2: Midnight Star went live at midnight!!! Yes!!! Happy Mother’s Day to me!!!!
OH CRISTINA!!! Gooooood FIND!!! π I’m adding it to today’s post.
Not sure when I’ll read it, but soon. Just clicked on Intent. Didn’t even read the blurb, Fabi.
Happy Mother’s Day!!! I’m actually sitting in a restaurant patio waiting for the other 7 people to show up for brunch. *Sigh* I am so not a people person, even when it’s family people.
MichelleS, wow, Roam was a while back for you. I think I’ve read several complete series since then, but they’ve all been short, 2-3 books max. Of course, I’m always ADD with my reading.
Have a wonderful lunch, Fabi. I SO wish I was with my mom right now. But at least I have her on FaceTime. That’s a godsend, I’ll tell you. π
I hope you guys end up liking Intent like I did. I realize that most of the time it’s simply the mood we’re in when we read a book that makes us like it or not.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you beautiful mommies out there! May your love of reading be passed down to your children, no matter what age they are. They are never too old to fall in book love. π
Oh I LOVE your sweet mother’s day message, Amy. And may all the mommies have the wonderful pleasure and gentle peace while reading bedtime stories to your children.
Gah, I’m so all over the place! I was all set to read Slammer but then I read TRW (*rubs aching chest*) then I was sure I wound read something light and fluffy before Empty Jar but now I see all the love Intent is getting and I forgot about When All You’ve Got Is Nothing and I don’t get much reading done during the week so I want to cram all these books in one the weekend and…and…
Hey! We could all read The Year We Turned Forty!!! That seems like a safe read!! π
I’m reading something right now that I just received (wasn’t even expecting it) and OMG YOU GUYS… some of you are going to die of happiness once it goes live. Tee hee! I SO wish we could buddy read it with our group, but I’m sneaking it early. *blinks innocently*
It’s this one (and y’all will be surprised that I’m reading it ’cause it’s fantasy but I’m diving in and SO in the mood)!!! Plus… the author. *sigh* SO good.
Aw Maryse, do you ever read out loud TO Pim? I can just imagine the rapt expression she would have on her little face while mommy “talks” to her. π
Except for the grown-up sexy time scenes. None of those for her innocent ears.
She’s get’s confused when I start talking out loud, Amy. Her eyes bug out, her ears get really perky, and she looks around like… who’s here? Starts pacing and circling and looking around and then at me like… who’re you talking to?
LOL!!!! When I do the videos, that really messes her up. *snort*
Maryse, I don’t read a lot of CoHo, but this is right up my alley. Yours too, I think. But you might have to pretend someone else wrote it LOL. Every few sentences, I’m all “who are you and what have you done with Colleen?”
LOL!!! I LOVE that reaction, R. Renee. Makes me want to read it even more. π
Oh. I see how Maryse rolls. Calls me out and them sneaks off to read a fantasy book. By herself. Mmhmm.
Amy?? Did you watch any Sherlock? ??
Amy I can’t decide between Spinning Out and Intent; so want to read Intent together?? π
Oh… Virtual Reality *giggle* Humina humina, thanks Fabi *kisses*
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there!! And IMHO you’re all mommies… be it to children of your own, stepkids, furkids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, plant-kids, online children… You all care and *mother* someone so…today is your day, CELEBRATE by doing something you love!
I haven’t picked a book yet… very indecisive here! Actually I’m writing today…lol! I wasn’t planning on it, but here I am LOL! Wishing you all much happiness!
I’m hoping Maryse loves the fantasy book so much that it renews her love for that genre & we get some good recs from her! Many of my favorite reads, favorite characters, and memorable moments come from my fantasy and PNR books. Very very few from contemporary romance. Keeping fingers crossed!!
Maryse I am so jealous you are reading that! I LOVE Amy Harmon! When’s the release date for that one (I’m too lazy today to look it up…lol)…and I’m sure you know off the top of your head!
Jean I do know it… but my lips are sealed. π I promise I’ll let y’all know when it goes live. Tee hee. π
Ooh that one looks interesting Maryse.
I’m another sucker for a HEA. That’s why I read, too. I’m with Michelle S and Cheryl. A bit of loss and heartbreak is copeable (is that a word?) if you know the HEA is coming regardless. I’m too much of a softie to deal with too much angst. Although The Turning Point is still one of my fav books. Has anyone read it yet??? Come on, guys.
Michelle you’ve got me thinking now about the last series where I read the whole thing. I think it would have to be the Seven series (Dannika Dark). PNR. The last one only came out recently, and it was really good. A couple of the books weren’t quite as good, but overall I enjoyed the whole series.
I got a bit sick of the Fever series and haven’t even bothered with Iced yet. I’ve read all of the psy-changeling books, altho the last couple haven’t been as good as the early ones. Also PNRs.
In contemporaries, I read all of the Beautiful series (Christina Lauren) although I didn’t like the novellas as much. All of Jo Wylde’s MC books. All of the Play-by-play series (although the latest one wasn’t as good). Sports romance. All of The Captive Prince. (fantastic mm historical fantasy trilogy) Should I check out the Roam series? Don’t know of it.
Oh, I see…Maryse is teasing us.
Fine. I’ll just take my martini and go home!!! *sticks out tongue*
Cheryl, I actually started Slammer but how about right after that we’ll start Intent, if you aren’t in the middle of another book?
Bev…ummmmm, I’m pleading the fifth on Sherlock. *runs and hides behind couch*
*swipes Amy’s martini while she thinks she’s escaping with it* π
Amy, I can see your feet sticking out.
*Pulls Amy out*
Maryse, did you know Pim wants to watch Sherlock?
She likes an English accent.
Ok, I’m going to go finish a buddy read, I may or may not be doing with MichelleS, and then I’m moving on to two other books. Either Undecided or Saving June. Or both. IDK. But someone should read with me.
Then Lisa has inspired me to go back to my resolution. I’m going to try to read more and stay off the comments for two weeks. As you can tell from my ten posts in a row this will be a test of will power.
*squeals in surprise and claws at ground while being pulled*
Wait…*stops clawing*…my martini!! Dangit Maryse!!!!
