<— BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! ELLE KENNEDY AWESOMENESS ALERT! ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS of the year, The Score (Off-Campus Book 3), is on super-sale today (can be read as a standalone), and THIS one is my fav of the series so far! P.S. Here’s 5-star my review.
ALSO! ANOTHER 5 STAR ALERT!!! I want to know… has anyone NOT read this one yet? The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies Book 1) <— If not, you must! It’s one of my forever favorites, tore my heart out and twisted my stomach in knots. I 5-starred it, and it’s super-bargain priced today. My review.
Y’all know, along with my incredible love for angsty, heartachy books, I also love the jaw-dropping scary-ish ones! I’m on a twisty turny psych-thriller kick, especially if it involves a “love story”! I’ve been seeing this one floating on my feed (my friend Natasha pointed it out) and Amazon recommendations for a few days now (Behind Closed Doors is a recent release), but it’s when I finally read that BLURB, my jaw dropped and I swear I starting clapping with glee. This one is SO FOR ME!!
You know me… I love a good surprise! A story that gives me an adrenaline rush, makes me gasp and my stomach flutter. From the creepy stalkers (You, anyone? 😉 here’s my review), to the kidnappers (all of our crazy dark reads! But Stolen (my review) and Held (my review) being a couple of my favorites), to the woman on the run for her life (Safe Haven and Room: A Novel (my review) being two standouts in my head), to the seemingly perfect looking couple “next door” (that one to the left!! I can’t wait!!), to the love story with a hitch (Rainfall <— gasp!!! LOVED IT! Here’s my review).
But first, I’m reading another “psych-thriller” that was HIGHLY recommended to me after I read The Martian entitled Dark Matter: A Novel and I’m LOVING it! I’m a quarter in and already have two very different theories and both (to me?) completely plausible!! I can’t wait to find out where this one’s going!! Gah… the reviews!! I’ve lightly skimmed a few so I don’t accidentally hit a spoiler, but so far, I’m in for quite a ride. Oh and for this looking for more books like this, I have TWO favorites lists:
- Recommended Psychological Thriller Books and
- Ultimate Book List of Gasp-Worthy Plot Twists & Crazy Endings
But… these aren’t my only two big squees of the day! Look what else we found (all sorts of sexy, steamy or sweet romance, too!)
BARGAIN FINDS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):
- Behind Closed Doors: The most emotional and intriguing psychological suspense thriller you can’t put down <— OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THIS BOOK!!!!! PSYCH-THRILLER PERFECT MARRIED COUPLE ALERT!! SO PERFECT but…”…you realize Jack and Grace are inseparable. Some might call this true love. Others might wonder why Grace never answers the phone. Or why she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. Or why she never seems to take anything with her when she leaves the house, not even a pen. Or why there are such high-security metal shutters on all the downstairs windows. Some might wonder what’s really going on once the dinner party is over, and the front door has closed…”
Amy: Holy moly! Behind Closed Doors sounds GREAT!!!! I’m so clicking that one.One more thing…Behind Closed Doors has a free five-chapter sampler so we can check it out before buying the actual book.

- Chase the Sun (Free Fall Book 2) by Christina Lee & Nyrae Dawn <— LIVE!! M/M ROMANCE ALERT!! HE’S DRIVING A CAR TO LA FOR HIS BEST FRIEND… “Jamie and Conner are as different as night and day. Even after years of living apart, they still have a blast together—but now it’s mixed with an undeniable spark of attraction. Before they know it, they can’t keep their hands off each other. For Conner it’s all new and exciting, but Jamie isn’t the type of guy who takes this sort of intimacy lightly…“
- Dog Days by TA Moore <— LIVE!! M/M ROMANCE ALERT! HUGE STORMS signal the ends of the world… “mild-mannered academic Danny Fennick has battened down to sit out the storm. He grew up in the Scottish Highlands, so he’s seen harsh winters before. Besides, he has an advantage. He’s a werewolf. Or, to be precise, a weredog. Less impressive, but still useful…”
- A Fine Specimen by Lisa Marie Rice <— LIVE!! HE’S A COP & SHE’S STUDYING HIM FOR SCHOOL… “…his boss forces him to work with a scholar who is studying dominance in law enforcement. Alex doesn’t have time to babysit a pencil-dick geek writing a useless dissertation. He’s busy doing real police work. Putting bad guys behind bars. - Finding Our Forever: (A Defining Moments Novel) by Andee Michelle <— LIVE!!
- The Last Ones by T. Michelle Nelson <— LIVE!!! ZOMBIES & BIKERS ALERT! “She will find her once quaint and beautiful hometown is now overrun with zombies and the only source of order is the local motorcycle gang…”
Slade (New Species Book 2) by Laurann Dohner <— LAURANN DOHNER RE-RELEASE!! This series is extremely popular with the sci-fi romance group. 😉 LOL! Nostalgia ’cause I just found my “mini-review” from back in 2012 saying:
“4 stars – a relief after the dark book I had just read. Old school alpha-romance-erotica. Light read, nothing too serious or heartbreaking (but still had it’s angst misunderstandings and “mine” qualities) and plenty of steam.”
- BENCHED by Abigail Graham <— FAMOUS FOOTBALL STAR ALERT! And I love the premise of this one! “I’m a single mom and a cop. When some arrogant superstar thinks he can speed through my town and smirk and charm his way out of a ticket, he’s wrong. I wrote the ticket and impounded his car. Then he moved in next door…” <— *gasp* Tee hee!!!! It’s super-bargain priced and Debra enjoyed it! “Good book. Finished it yesterday“
In the Quiet by Eliza Henry-Jones <— SHE’S DEAD BUT SHE LINGERS, WATCHING HER FAMILY DEAL WITH THEIR GRIEF ALERT!!! Amy found us this one!!
“In the Quiet by Eliza Henry Jones is on sale… That one sounds like it is going to be beautifully heartbreaking. I’m ready!!”
- Fall: A Seaside Novel by Rachel Van Dyken <— RACHEL VAN DYKEN ALERT!! HE’S A FAMOUS ACTOR TRYING TO LAY LOW TO GE A PART IN A MOVIE… “Play nice? Keep it in his pants? Please. He played an alien once—he was going to totally rock it. Until a certain someone who he may or may not have publicly humiliated—rejected, then humiliated again, suddenly pops up next door.
Self control has a way of flying out the window when the one girl you can’t have—is suddenly dangled right in front of you.
But Priscilla isn’t just off limits—she’s a pastor’s daughter and barely legal to boot. So Jaymeson does the one thing he swore he’d never do—he tries to be friends. With a woman.” P.S. She has a boyfriend! P.P.S. It’s super-bargain priced today! Reckless by Winter Renshaw <— SO CURIOUS WHAT THE BOMBSHELL IS??! “As I blew out the candles on my divorce cake, I said goodbye to my failed marriage and embraced my future with open arms. But I didn’t know the future was going to come in the form of a mysterious stranger sitting at the end of the bar stealing glances all night… …But the moment I let him in . . . just when I began to let myself fall for this dashing stranger . . . he dropped a bombshell that changed everything.” (it’s super-bargain priced today!)
- Guardians of Summerfeld: Full Series: Books 1-4 by Melissa Delport <— FANTASY SERIES BUNDLE ALERT! The author of one of my favorites (up there… Rainfall) also has this Fantasy series!! It’s super-bargain priced today!
Fighting to Be Free by Kirsty Moseley <— HUGE HIT and it’s back on the list ’cause Marion HIGHLY recommends it!

Holy moly! Behind Closed Doors sounds GREAT!!!! I’m so clicking that one. 😀
And then Reckless…I might just be able to ignore the half-naked guy on the cover (my pet peeve with book covers lately) and click that one.
I mentioned it yesterday, but it’s still on sale soooo…In the Quiet by Eliza Henry Jones is on sale for 1.99. That one sounds like it is going to be beautifully heartbreaking. I’m ready!!
One more thing…Behind Closed Doors has a free five-chapter sampler so we can check it out before buying the actual book.
I’m adding it, Amy!!! 😀 YAY!!!
Oh I’m totally sampling that. AWESOME!!!!
HOLY MOLY!!!!
Andy Weir liked my tweet about how much I loved his book “The Martian”
*thud*
Just a little fan-girling. 😉
Aw man, I’d be SQUEALING over that!!! That’s totally justified fan-girling.
Yep, BCD might be worth the price but it would be nice to know so first. 😉
And can you believe my heart totally clenched and is aching after seeing Rainfall mentioned up there? STILL after all this time…
Behind Closed Doors looks awesome! And I actually got excited when I noticed the kindle price is almost as much as the paperback because now I have to get the paperback! I’m weird that way. But then…the hardcover is only $0.60 more!!! Decisions, decisions…
You get to smell the paperback… mmmmmmm.
BUT!!
Digital means you get to have magical highlight fingers!!! Love those!
I wonder what smells better, the paperback or the hardcover? I do know the hardcover retains smell better over time. We need to do some research…
Highlight fingers sounds intriguing!
So, I just can’t not say something about this book – and maybe you all already know about this one. I haven’t been around long enough to have gone through EVERYTHING here, but I’m getting close. After catching up on a couple series I’m reading, I’m now waiting for the next installments, so I found Breaking Him by Sherilee Gray. This book is so darn “erotic” and Eli is…I don’t even have words. Dark, silent, secretive and a pantydropping, gotta have this man in my life kinda man . I’ve been sneaking chapters in while I’m at work, and I’m thinking that might not be very conducive to the workplace, for many reasons…holy Hotness Batman!!!
I love the smell of books…but not enough to give up reading them as ebooks. I am so spoiled to being able to poke a word and get the definition or do a quick search to find something I read earlier or whatever.
Okay, so I will admit I’m a big ol’ book brat today. I went to click Reckless (ignoring the cover, mind you) and what do I see in the blurb? “He broke down my walls.” *sigh* That’s 0 for 2 with that book…a cover that looks like all the rest and a tired, overused phrase in the blurb that is like nails on a chalkboard for me. See? Told ya…I’m being a brat. 😛
I thought you avoided blurbs Amy? Ever since It Ends With Us, I’ve been ignoring them completely. I never realized how much fun it is going in with no clue of what you’re getting into! It has to be recommended by people with similar tastes as me though!
I actully DO read blurbs but I avoid the reviews because of spoilers or anything that might be given away in them. And my favorite kinds of blurbs are the ones which are vague but intriguing. 😉
As soon as I see a blurb with the word “walls” in it, the nope octopus kicks in!
Ha! I had it backwards. I get you on the reviews. Even seeing the stars people give books I’m reading come across my GR feed affects my enjoyment of the book. But alas, I’m a GR addict and I can’t stay off of there!
Oh, and BTW, your help on my blurb was priceless! I made some revisions after we spoke and I’ve been getting some really good feedback. XOXO 🙂
Yay!! I’m glad I could help. 😀
I’m getting back on GR (finally) so if you would like any other feedback just send me a message on there.
I’m so excited I get to stalk your book lists now!!
Amy, you are going to rate them as you add them, right?? *patiently waiting*
Nooooo… *cringes*
I have them all rated on a spreadsheet on my iPad so at some point I may go back and add the ratings on GR, but no promises. 😉
You and Cheryl! What am I going to do with you? Fine. Then I’m going to flood your inbox with books that have cliche’d blurbs! And I’m taking your plum wine. But I won’t drink it because it’s sweet 🙁
Oh, and all the books marked “want to read” are books I actually have, not just that I want to read. So that huge four-digit number under “want to read” is my actual number of unread books. Yep, I’m an ebook hoarder. *giggle*
So know what doesn’t have a half naked man on the cover?
Or who doesn’t have walls to be broken?
*hits LIKE button, rolls eyes* LOL
Jesus Bev. You’d think those were your own books you push so hard. Is there a secret you’re not telling us?
At least I don’t squee, you all hurt my ears when you do that. 😉
Sherlock?
Is Sherlock ever shirtless?
Oh NO! I’m the worst squee-er, I’ve been told. Like ear-splitting.
*snuggles bev’s ears and whisper-squee’s in ’em to make ’em feel better*
Hrmm…
Actually I was promoting Simon, but Sherlock works to.
There is a scene in Buckingham Palace that involves him only wearing a sheet, lol. So can’t say never half dressed.
Hey Amy have your husband watch it.
OMG… *snort*
Ha! I guessed it! How much did I win?
So…I am simultaneously commenting here, conversing on GR, and carrying on a text conversation.
This can’t end well…
Precisely why I’ll never finish my book…
Right?!? LOL!!
Behind Closed Doors….wow
Uh, so since Simon is just randomly naked, it doesn’t count. Are you sure he wasn’t half dressed too? I could see that.
One that note… *throws peanut at Maryse* Read Murder of Crows! *throws another at Bev* Seriously, you haven’t read Marked in Flesh? Stop ogling Sherlock and get on that!
Behind Closed Doors & Reckless clicked!! Can’t wait to start reading!! I need to read the blurbs as sometimes I’m in the mood for a certain book!’
Bev, I remember that scene with Sherlock. So awkwardly funny.
R. I do rate some books, just not every book I read; ok more like one or two books! :>
Back in the world of Thatch and Cassie- Banking Her. Needed a funny read.
*smiles brightly and pleads to Bev* Please read it? It’s my favorite of the series so far, and you know how good Murder of Crows was,
Tessa, lol. I totally believe you & plan on reading it soon. It’s a must read for me, my love for that series has not decreased one iota.
I just tried to read it at a bad time and now keep putting it off until the perfect time.
As long as it’s not a bad time, Marked in Flesh will make i a wonderful time. 😀 There are so many things I want to share with someone! Like, howling! If you haven’t read it, you don’t know why that’s great.
To be clear, I wasn’t suggesting that Amy’s husband watch Sherlock because he wears a towel. Though that shouldn’t dissuade him. But because it is good television and her husband seems to like good shows.
Why can’t GR have a 1/2 star? Some times I just want to give a book a 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 stars?!?!? Anyone else feel this pain??!???
I totally agree DG!! I tried just making my own half star system and it didn’t work at all! My ratings are all screwed up now!
Tfif. That is all.
Amy I looked before at your book list. Yes stalking. Ooh. And I thought wow look at all her want to read books and then books you have bought from Amazon. You have an Amazing list…. I do the same thing read Maryses review or a suggested book. See how much it is on Amazon and 1 click, 1 click and…….. Then I start getting stressed as I can’t keep up with how many I have bought. I too wish there was a 1/2 a star rating. I’ve just read Turbulence and loved it. Really great, and now I’m reading Author Anonymous and it is honestly killing me. I’m seriously going to punch her.
Does anyone have trouble trying to remember which books were about? How do you keep track?
Melinda …ALL the time! It drives me nuts when I can only recall part of a book and not remember which book it was! Then I will get obsessive about trying to remember or narrowing down which one it was exactly!
Riiiiiiiight Bev. You think just because my hubby watched Viggo Mortenson fight naked that he’ll watch Sherlock in a towel. 😛
I’m at a high school football game and feeling so damn old right now. 😕
Melinda…ummm, all of those “to read books” are books I have actually clicked, not just books I want to read. Yep, 2635 UNread books sitting in my Kindle and Nook libraries. 😕
I’m tellin’ ya…ebook hoarder right here. *points to self*
And what’s a little stalking among friends, right?? 😉
Amy would be more fun to stalk if she RATED HER BOOKS.
Ok that wasn’t me. Ela must have hijacked my laptop.
Oh, gosh. Yes. Teen are starting to look so young to me. I saw something on how in 4 years, now almost 3, the 90s will have started 30 years ago. I gasped.
Amy probably all but 1 or 2 of my tbr on gr are ones i own. Not all of them are in there yet, only like a quarter. Still not at your level though. I refuse to count as I don’t want to start doing the math. Though I’m going to try and start hitting my library again. I used to utilize it so much.
Oh man, here we go…
*slides Jager shot to R*
Rate that one, woman!!!
5 stars!
Okay, that’s scary about the 90’s thing…
And trust me…my number is nothing to brag about. Maybe if I utilized the library I wouldn’t get book anxiety when I look at all the books I’ll probably never get to!
Whoot!! Have another!!!!
*slides another shot to R while sipping Jager from flask* <—- yes, I'm shameless and drinking at a HS football game like that. 😛
I live in Texas. They won’t let us in without a flask.
They know.
Just saw this on Twitter. I wasn’t a big fan of Grey, but who knows? Maybe she changed it up.
https://www.facebook.com/ELJamesAuthor/photos/a.228618593879148.55134.214514508622890/1160414440699554/?type=3&theater
OMG! Thank you R! Love some Christian…just wish she would have given us another page!
Yes!! GRs lack of half star options bothers me too.
Melinda I never remember why or when I downloaded books or what the blurb was about….but thats half the fun. Most likely they’ve been recommended here but I kinda like going in blind.
Amy you have totally absolved my guilt over the bulging tbr file I have amassed…..its positively anorexic compared to yours!!
I tried to work out how many years worth of reading I have stashed on my kindle….its safe to say I would be good for a book for a looong time post apocalypse.
*sigh* more bare chests. I think Im getting desensitized. I woukdnt even bat an eye if a ripped guy took his shirt off in front of me now….meh. Seen a million!
Amy, your like a shoe addict only with books. Will you ever read them all?I usually buy samples then I forget about what they were about and I buy more samples and more books and more books. Maybe I’m an addict too.
Why don’t you have a few jäger bombs and write a couple of reviews or rate a book best way for us to all know which ones are good.
Lisa I go in blind too, mostly,
Amy I remember you writing on this chat about room 202. “Oh” I can’t remember the room number but the book was really good and it’s a go to book.
Who do you think Author Anonymous is? Or do you think it’s a marketing pitch?
Good morning… How is everyone this morning?
GR get it together already and give us a dang 1/2 star option! I usually will write a comment and say 4.5 stars, *shrug* fight the power… LOL.
I’m feeling a little punchy this morning, sorry friends.
The first week of school is always rough, but yikes, Cheryl, tell me it wasn’t just me? This year felt… extra… crazed.
I need a book to break me out of my funk!
good Morning Grey, even though it’s 11.56pm here.
Good book have you read Turbulence. That’s good. I loved it.
Just wanted to add this quote I loved it ” Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.”
I am obsessed with Turbulence! It’s so different, but has all of the qualities I gravitate to. Angst. Broody, jerk of a male character. Lots of steam. Lots of snark. It’s not ooey gooey. Love it!
That’s a beautiful quote Melinda.
A lot of people are loving Turbulence. But at this point, I think it would be useless for me to add anything to my tbr.
AMY!!!!
Look what’s going live this month… 😉
https://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/erica-stevens-the-captive-series-reading-order.html
*GASP!!!*
Cover Bev’s ears because…
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*skips around and tosses confetti candy*
ANOTHER ARIA AND BRAITH BOOK!!!!!!
*grabs Maryse’s hands and spins around*
*runs up and smooches Bev’s cheek*
*giggles and dances out of the room*
Well, that does it! I started The Captive Series and abandoned it for Turbulance. I just finished Turbulance – solid 5 stars from me – and didn’t know what to read next! Back to Braith and Aria . . . I left Aria with Caleb and Braith’s father.
You know, it isn’t that the series has stellar writing or anything but that it is so freaking full of EMOTION! We get four books (which read fast, by the way) with Aria and Braith *swooooon* and then one with Braith’s brother and the sweetest so-called “damaged” female vampire (be still my heart), then Atticus’ story with Broken (and broken I was after that one…it had me sobbing by the end), then Aria’s brother (which I still need to read), and now another Aria and Braith!!!!
How long since I read them and I STILL remember so many details and scenes. 😀
Sharon!!! Which book did you leave off on?
Wow, all this love for Turbulence lately…I need to finish up How It Ends (which is hurting my heart big time and is sooooo good) but I’m torn between Vengeance (Captive series, because I love and miss that world) and Turbulence.
I’m experiencing FOMO!!! <—– look at me trying to sound all young and hip. *snort*
I think I remember that series. I have to go double check because it’s been a year or two. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, then I read 4-5 books in it and I guess I assumed it was over or just plain forgot about it.
Grey, it is CRAZY so far this school year, not to mention I have a nursing student and a new nurse in my office. I feel like it’s organized chaos!!!!
Amy, who is How It Ends by?
Fabi, if it WAS the Captive series you read then you have to read Broken so I can see if it affects anyone else like it did me. I still think Atticus was horrid, but my heartache was for the vampire he was (and sweet Genny) and not the creature he became, ya know?
And the blue ribbon. And the glass box. *fans away tears* GAH!!! What’s wrong with me??
Cheryl…a new nurse and a nursing student?? Well, if anyone is sweet enough to handle them, it’s you. 😉
How It Ends is by Laura Wiess who also wrote Such a Pretty Girl, which is supposed to be really good. This one reminds me a bit of Jezebel (but it’s NOT the same plot, just to be clear) with the older woman and teenage girl and two separate yet intertwined stories, but I just hit the part with the “audiobook” and my emotions are going crazy. And then thinking again about Broken and…and…WTH??? I need a drink. Is it too early for a drink? Why do y’all put up with me… 😛
Yup, Erica Stevens. Apparently, I’ve read books 1-5. But it feels like it was eons ago and I don’t remember much about the series other than I really enjoyed it.
I don’t know if you remember, but Atticus was Braith’s horrid, cruel father. NEVER did I think I would care about him, but damn…that book wrecked me.
Aw man, I just remembered I want to read Behind Closed Doors as well! See why I get book anxiety? 😉
I’m ashamed to say, I’m still on three. I forgot too much that happened in two. I need to go back and re-read the first two.
Yes, Tessa!! You should! 😀
Another thing I liked about it (good lord, am I fan-girl gushing today or what?) is how it is in the future and vampires run the world, but the modern conveniences of electricity, running water, cars, and technology are gone from what I remember. It gave it an old in modern times feel.
Okay, I’ll stop now. 😉
I am just sitting here in my own world because I have NO idea what you guys are talking about haha! I think I may give Turbulence a go though, because you guys are giving it such love…and on Tuesday… there’s a new Aleatha Romig coming out… YAY!!!!
*throws Captive peanuts at Grey*
Lol, Grey. I feel like that all the time. All the ladies on here seem to find the same books at the same time and I’ve never heard of them. I feel like I’ve come into the middle of a conversation multiple times. I just had to Google Turbulence ebook, lol.
But…idk. She was the author of those books from a year or two ago, I tried them but didn’t love them like so many people did.
Amy, I am pretty sure I left off on Salvation. I bought the series as a bundle and it’s hard to keep track of the book.
Not to sound stupid but how do I find y’all on gr’s? I just started using it.
Awww, Amy that is so nice! Definitely overwhelmed with so much going on. Hopefully, things should calm down next week.
I’ll have to check that book out Amy.
Got a surprise text from my son that the BBQ today was for parents too. Got to see him and bring him a few things that he forgot or realized he needed. Sweet!!! 🙂
Like Maryse, I’m in the mood for a bit of a thriller. I’m going to try Dover Beach by Richard Bowker. I have it free for review so I might as well take advantage of that instead of hitting up Amazon for a random thriller. Wish me luck. 🙂
Cheryl, what a great surprise. I feel for you. I totally remember that feeling when my oldest left for college.
Fabi, Ashley picked The Shining for our stupid scary book BR. That’s a thriller! You can read with us, or even better, read instead of me and give me the cliff notes version so she thinks I read it 😉
LOL R. Too funny. Isn’t The Shining more horror than thriller? I don’t mind experimenting but…*shudder*
shhh I’m bailing on a BR right now. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before, but I don’t think I can finish this book either. It’s so hard to keep track of the story when you keep rolling your eyes.
Which one is BR Fabi?
I suppose. It’s SK so I really can’t consider it either since I never get far enough in his books to get scared *ducks from flying peanuts*
Le sigh.
Milissa, you don’t sound dumb at all! My name on there is Amy_NM. Just send a comment with the request letting me know you’re from here. 😉
3 things
1. I’m reading The Promise of Amazing because I just felt like a very easy read.
2. I really wish I had a cinnamon roll.
3. I was being bullied on GR last night by two women named R & Amy. *sniff*
Hey now, that was alllllllll R…she was just trying to drag my name through the mud that she was slinging!! 😛
Three things:
1. I’m staring at my elliptical instead of using it.
2. I’m so excited about using my pretty Fall nail polish colors.
3. I want a chocolate-iced, custard-filled Krispy Kreme donut.
OOH!!! Speaking of Fall nail polish…MINE!!
https://imabeautygeek.com/2016/07/11/opi-washington-dc-2016-collection-swatches-review-comparisons/
Those are beautiful. I’m digging the It’s Top Secret.
I’ve seen before we’re they do that dupe thing and it is interesting how similar they can be.
Liking so many of those colors, but laugh/snorted at “yank my doodle”!!!
Three things:
1. Bev, sure likes to make our brains hurt with her questions. 😉
2. I need to go for a run, but here I sit.
3. I need to go to the grocery store, but here I sit.
Three things:
1. I’m making a Moroccan dish. Chicken Tagine.
2. It smells so good here that I want to yell at the dish to hurry up so I can eat it.
3. I don’t know what to read tonight. I have a few options… help?
1. bev…what are you talking about??
2. The Browns are playing right now and I’m stuck in traffic! Grrr. (Not driving lol)
3. Going on a date night to see Garbage tonight!
Oh awesome! Oh, Melissa, you can find everyone on my friends list. 🙂
Three things.
1. I cheated on my diet last night with cookies.
2. I finished Anti-depressants rather and it was good, but no where near FCH.
3. My shorts are supposed to be “short shorts”, but my legs to torso promotions is so off, it looks respectable and it looks like it goes half way down my thighs. *grins*
Oh, Maryse, since you are into this survivalist mode, maybe you can give Until the End of the World a try.
I finished Behind Closed Doors!!! Awesome!! I haven’t read a disturbing book in a long time and don’t need to read another one for a long time!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!! Read every chance I had. I just needed to know what happens next!! For those of you that love psycho thrillers, you won’t be disappointed. Now onto sometime lighter!!!
Lisa M… you are calling my name!!!
Probably will finish both Eidolon & Sawbones in the next couple days. I then think I want to tackle Labyrinth Lost & Land of the Beautiful Dead. Yet, a part feels they both would be good October reads but don’t think I want to wait that long.
Milisssa sorry I just saw this. Here’s my GR. You can friend from my friends! https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/47734324-robin-hill
Long day of football. But all wins!!! Now I’m crawling into bed… With Max Monroe or Turbulence that is the question…
That’s hot Grey. Take them both.
Have you apple users tried this? I think it looks cool but I’m an android user and not available yet.

“if instagram and goodreads had a perfect baby”
Hehe, GREY is going to have a perfect baby if she takes R’s advice.
😛
Lisa M…I’m starting that one tonight! 😀
Three things:
1. I finished “Loverboy” and loved it. Sniffle sniffle.
2. I am sooooo excited that Maryse is reading Sci Fi and loving it so I am shoving Gann down her throat every chance I get.
3. I paid $100 for dog grooming and my beasts rolled around in the wet grass and look like drowned rats now. 🙁
As long as you took a photo first, MichelleS, then it counts!! Photo? 😛
FOUR things… sorry….
4. I started Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass series). Been waiting For-freaking-ever for this one. Should have read last book, forgot some people and “stuff”.
I missed how to change our avatars. Can someone send me instructions?
OMG, you are so right about Empire of Storms. I should have as well. Right before the next one, I’m re-reading. Maybe making a chart. I totally knew who they were eventually, but geesh.
If you loved that OPI collection, ULTA has a couple of exclusive shades to go with it…beautiful!!

MichelleS…go to gravatar.com and set it up there. Maryse had posted a comment with a little more detail but I can’t remember which post it was under…
In case any of you missed the “how to change your avatar” instructions, here they are again:
————
how to control your Avatar (for example – mine is always the same and it’s actually my face) this is where and how I did it:
if you go to gravatar.com (which means globally recognized avatar), you can set one of your own (your pet, your face, something that pertains to you).
As long as you use the same email address that you used to comment on here, the same gravatar that you’ve chosen, will always show up (on maryse.net, AND other sites using the gravatar system)
—————-
😀 !!!
Tessa…I would LOVE for Maryse to read UTEOTW (my autocorrect just tried to change that to uterus *snort*) but she would need to read the sequel to get the full effect, and she doesn’t always continue on with sequels!! *looks around for Maryse* I’m totally talking about her like she can’t hear me… 😛
LOL AMY!!!!!
P.S.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUU AMY!!!!!!!!! *happy wiggle*
Oh?! Amy? It’s your birthday?
Awwww!!! THANK YOU, my sweet friend!!!
*huge snuggle hug* <—– quite a feat while you're happy wiggling 😛
Wiggle hugs are the funnest!!!! 😀
Yep Fabi, it is! 😀
Well then, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY !!!!
Thank you Fabi!!!
*pulls Fabi into the wiggle hug with Maryse*
Amy!!! Happy birthday!!! My wish is for at least 1 5 star read a month…
I took no one to bed, you naughty bunch of smut monkeys… Too much sun and one little teensy sleepy cocktail and …goodnight Grey. So I don’t know if I will start anything tonight either, tomorrow is Entrapment…and today is a hellish day in my office. I am hiding during my lunch break.
My wish for *you, Amy* is at least 1, 5 star read a month… Geez… See what happens when you are trying to text so fast LOL!
Happy Birthday Amy!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!!!!
I hope it is a wonderful day and year.
Thank you so much ladies!!! I am so thankful for you smut monkeys *winks at Grey* and the joy you all have brought me. 😀
*pulls everyone into wiggle hug*
*tries to slyly reach for Bev to bring her into the hug*
*pounces into the huggle pile* Happy birthday Amy! May half of your books be gut-wrenchingly painful Amy books for you to swoon over. 😀
Maryse! Does that recipe have a link? Or is to from a book. You’re killing me, I’m starving!
I jumped on the BR with Jean and Amy for Behind Closed Doors. Read with us! 5 chapter free sample! I DNF’d El Diablo, BTW.
Maryse. …listen. Listen close. Do you hear it? It’s MichelleS & I chanting,” Gann Gann Gann”
Someone has added a drum.
*thump* Gann *thump* Gann
*thump* Gann
Maryse is this question directed at me?
“Which one is BR Fabi?”
It’s a riddle, Fabi.
…maybe it’s a question about the acronym? BR=buddy read
Maybe. Or maybe there is a British Fabi, called BRFabi.
Or she will only join in a BR that you are in on. So she was asking R
Which BR you are doing.
In any case, she’s too busy enjoying that delicious dinner now.
You guys… it WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!!! I’m the best cook in the whole world!!!
I just discovered this. *snort* (I’m also being silly). 😉 But darn I’m pretty good!!! hahahahahah!
Mind you I’d be the first one “Chopped” on that show…
Oops I thought she was talking to Fabi too!
I just wanted to clarify for anyone (such as Maryse) who’s not on GR and won’t see my review, my main reason for DNF’ing El Diablo was just me being picky (it was writing style related) and probably won’t affect most readers. If you’re considering it, give it a shot!
Haaaaapy Bitthday Aaaaamy! Yay! Whatcha’ drinking for your b-day?
I’m really tired tonight. I just went on to GR and one of you like a review on a book titled Love Brewing. The cover shows a man holding a barrel. Anyway, I read it as Love Bowling and thought the man on the cover was holding a bowling ball. For a minute I was thinking, Oh a bowling romance, haven’t seen one of those.
I think she wants to know what buddy read you abandoned Fabi.
Fall For Me (The Rock Gods Book 1)
by Ann Lister
Thank you for the happy birthday wishes!! I treated myself to cake batter martinis this evening…but not too many since I have a job interview tomorrow, and I don’t think it would look good to show up hungover. 😛
And oooooooh…Maryse made me chicken tagine! What’s that? You can’t express send it to me? *sighs and pouts* Fine, I’ll just pretend I’m enjoying it.
FINALLY starting Behind Closed Doors…I’m simultaneously excited for and scared of how intense it might get. 😕
LOL Amy!!!!! It was SOOOOOO GOOD and I have plenty left over. I wish you were here with me. I’d feed it to you and make you both the birthday cake AND the birthday cake martinis. And we’d make a real life blankie fort right in the middle of the living room!!!
Happy Birthday Amy!!!! Sorry I missed it. Hope you had a wonderful day.
Im in a bit of a book funk after Loverboy….read Banking Her and Rookie Move but they didnt cheer me up much.
Continuing on with SoCal Horde series but realised this one is a dreaded death book…..ao thats not gonna help much. *shrugs*
Good luck on the interview Amy.
You have leftovers?? Alright, I’m hopping on a plane and flying out there. It’s happening. Get that blankie fort and the martinis ready. And then we can prank call our friends! ‘Cause that’s what friends do to each other…er, or maybe just my friends do that. *snicker*
And I know that “best cook in the whole world” feeling…I feel that way until I go to a friend’s house and she whips up these fancy dishes WITHOUT following a recipe, and then I feel…just…so…less than. LOL!!
Thank you, Bev! It went well, they introduced me to everyone in the office, and they’ll make a decision in the next week or so. I don’t know…I’m not sure it will be a good fit for me even if they do pick me. Or maybe it will? *sigh* I have other interviews lined up so we’ll see…
