Wow… there are almost as many new releases as bargain finds today (including a few highly anticipated sequels, for books that I’ve read, that have just been released, too)! I’m thinking end-of-week (Thursday/Friday) is the new unofficial “indie release day”. Love it! And… my TBR list does too. Yesssss… it does.
*smirk*
*side-eyes TBR list: shhhhhhhh settle down and stop squirming and let me fit a few more books in, would ya? Squeeeeeeeeze it in. There ya go. All of my books are nice and snuggly now. Nooooo… not too tight. I. said. snuggly.*
Tee hee! 😛
So what books did I just squeeze in? Quite a few on here that look good and/or are already on my TBR list from a couple of weeks ago, but these are the new ones that gave me a blurb-jolt —-> A Fighting Chance (dark fighter read by an author that I’ve read before and enjoyed), Marine for Hire (hehe. Big bad hot Marine suddenly becomes a nanny! I think this’ll make me laugh, plus I enjoyed Vin Diesel’s version of it a few years ago, so why not? ;)), Under Locke (have been told it’s the best biker book ever), Unfiltered & Unlawful (BIKER book that looks awesome and recommended by one of my fav authors. MINE!), and Stolen Grace <— this one sounds SO different. I can’t even fathom from that blurb but considering the title, I have an idea what happens. “In an unexpected turn of events, a family tragedy forces Sylvia to leave Ruth in charge of little Grace for just one day. A decision that will tear their lives apart.” <— GAH! Sounds like it’s going to be a crazy read.
NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

Drea: Maryse’s Book Blog have you read Bullet to the Heart by Lea Griffith yet? I saw that you had listed it on your blog and once I read the synopsis I was sold. Annnnywho, I read and LOVED it. This book is so different, and by far one of my favourite reads. The 2nd book is coming out on Feb 6, and I am stoked. I’m not sure if it is bargain priced, but my finger is twicthing to one click as soon as its available.
Paulette: this was very different and good
Drea: Hey Paulette, I agree with you. It was definitely something you don’t read about everyday. And that price was ridiculous!
Maryse’s Book Blog: I haven’t yet but it’s on my main TBR list (the one I posted a few days ago) and I’ve been happily working my way through it. I can’t wait to read it. Thanks so much Drea!!

In an unexpected turn of events, a family tragedy forces Sylvia to leave Ruth in charge of little Grace for just one day. A decision that will tear their lives apart. - Zeke by Wodke Hawkinson <— SUPER DARK READ ALERT!!! Scoti recommended this one to me awhile ago, and I just noticed the message, so I thought I’d post her recommendation. Better late than never: “Ok Maryse, I just finished one of the dark reads that was recommend and let me just say “Wow”. Zeke by Wodke Harleson is different than any other dark read I have read. You know those books we love where we end up falling for the bad guy because it turns out he has redeeming qualities, well this is not that book. It’s like watching two trains heading for each other. You know they are gonna crash and it will be horrific but you just can’t turn away. From the beginning you’re given a look inside Zeke’s mind and you know this will not end well. Overall I enjoyed reading it because it wasn’t like anything I read before but I would say that it is definitely not for everyone.“

- An Arrangement of Love (Interracial Erotic Romance) by Kenya Wright <— “Billionaire Chase Stone offers Jasmine a six-figure job that requires a full-time commitment in his office as well as his bed. If only she knew that before she agreed, then life would’ve been easier. It’s not that he’s unattractive. Jasmine just didn’t graduate from Harvard with honors so she could be some rich guy’s over paid mistress. What’s even more repulsing is that he lives with three women and wants her to be the fourth…“

I loved Bullet to the Heart! Such a good book and the heroin is such a badass too!
That one is on my TBR list and HIGH!!! I can’t wait. I hear it’s dark…
Bullet to the Heart was awesome! I read the second book last night and that was great too!
I bought Bullet to the Heart and Under Locke last week, and I’m so excited to start both after hearing so many great things about them! Speaking of bikers, just a heads up that the Lights of Peril books are very…vanilla. If you’re looking for dark and gritty (as I was, of course 😛 ) you won’t find it with LOP. They’re not bad at all – just too Mary Sue for a biker book for me.
Oh! I picked up the YSL Effet Faux Cils Luxurious, and I. Am. In. Love. I also picked up the EFC Shocking because, well, it was there. That was all the reason I needed. 😉 I’ll let you know how that one is!
Marked 1 was amazing. If you haven’t read it, you should definitely pick up this one and the sequel!
Thanks! I picked up the Nightlife Series. I have been in the mood for a good and hot vampire and/or were book. Do you know any other good paranormal that’s fairly new?
Cree My Way Series book 1 by HJ Bellus is the same book as My Now and Forever, same author, that was out months ago. The 2nd book in the series My Today I also bought months ago, though haven’t read it yet. Cree/My Now was cute, I liked it. I was one click happy today, lots of goodies to get started on. First up is Marked part 2 I think.
Excited about Marked II, Becoming Noah Baxter….loved the first book! Maryse, I loved your little side talk with your TBR list…haha….that seriously made me laugh out loud!! And I know the feeling!!
So excited to start Marked 2!!!!
Bullet to the Heart made me realize as much as I love a damsel in distress, reading about a heroine that kicks serious ass totally ROCKS!
My TBR is already SO long! Ugh!
Got 6 inches of snow outside now and 2 new books, Marked part 2 and Cold-Blooded Beautiful, so I’m grabbing the cozy quilt and settling in. Now, which one do I start with???
“nothing left to lose” is a must read.such strong characters ,although for me some of the darker parts were really difficult to read.
Lifers is a must read. Jordan’s story broke my heart. Torrey was amazing and so strong.
Amy I have to know the effects of Shocking!!
Melanie, Nothing to Lose looks so crazy! I need to read that one.
Jean I read Marked #1 and really liked it. I shall be continuing the story. I lucked out with two sequels that i was waiting for today…
Christine, I hear this paranormal series is SOOOOO awesome (some even say it beats out the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, but… I can’t imagine anything beating that one). But here it is and book #3 will be released soon: https://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/amelia-hutchins-the-fae-chronicles-series-reading-order.html
This one is on my TOP 17 TBR list… so I should get to it ASAP.
Michelle… which one to start, indeed! I really loved both growly hermit-men, so… *sigh* you can’t go wrong with either.
Let me know if you finish one and what you thought.
There is another book I recently read that I reviewed. It was by far a 5 star read and a cheapie. It’s a rock star romance but I would highly recommend. It’s called First Chance: Rock Romance #1 by A.L. Wood. Beware though it has a severe cliffhanger. My review is on GoodReads & Amazon tho if your interested.
I encourage y’all to check out Broken Pieces by Riley Hart. She wrote Collide. It’s $3.99 on Amazon and SO good. I cried and smiled. It was angsty and lovely. M/M and the M/M/M…
Another new release is Interview with a Master’ by Jason Lukes, downloaded and read in about 4 hours! BDSM written from a mans pov by a male author . Took my mind of the horrible weather we are having 🙂
Maryse ~ Finished Marked Part 2 yesterday and Cold-Blooded Beautiful today. Marked Part 2 was just ok for me, maybe a little anti-climactic. Cold-Blooded Beautiful was f***ing awesome, even better than Brutally Beautiful! I know you liked Brutally Beautiful, so you gotta read Cold-Blooded Beautiful. There were parts that my eyes just couldn’t read fast enough and left my heart pounding with adrenaline and there were parts that left my eyes tear-filled and my heart sighing. Such a great sequel and conclusion.
Michelle, I felt the same way. I finished Marked 2 yesterday and also felt it was a little anti-climatic. Although I do still love “Jay” and was glad to see how their relationship evolved and how he overcame things and transformed, so at least I feel like I have closure. Lily was very strong in this book also! Oh, and I did love the Epilogue! I haven’t read Beautifully Broken yet, but your comments about it and the 2nd book make me want to start like NOW! haha!
