<— What I am currently reading is THIS!! Musician alert, by one of my favorite authors that always manages to drop the floor from underneath me with her clever storytelling and twists. I can’t WAIT!!!!! But… there are a whole bunch of new-to-me’s below (even in the bargain section) and I’ve already found one to make me *squirrel* from my latest TBR list. No fear, though, I will simply add it TO the list, and not skip ahead just yet. LOL!!!
NEWS UPDATE: TWO UPCOMING BOOKS up for preorder on AMAZON, and we want ’em. I already know it!!
- Bend by K Bromberg, JA Huss, Ella James, KI Lynn, CD Reiss, Shay Savage, Andrea Smith, Alessandra Torre <— Here’s another sexy book up on Amazon (for pre-order) right now.”Eight original, never before published stories to excite and arouse” from some of our favorites, including Shay Savage! —> In fact, from a comment she made, I’m thinking it is HER “savage trainer” (aka Evan Arden) on that sexy cover!! I have a crush on his dimple. And his face. Here, you only see his abs. I have a crush on those, too. 😛 Tee hee!!!
- In Her Wake: A Ten Tiny Breaths Novella by K.A. Tucker – releasing September 1st (it ends where Ten Tiny Breath starts, so it’s not a re-telling of the same story… definitely a prequel but not to be read before Ten Tiny Breaths). Not even the synopsis. WOW!! This. Is gonna be. AWESOME!!!! (I LOVED that book. I gave it 4.5 stars!)
The main standouts for me? Reclaiming the Sand (he’s the one bullied… and then they meet again as adults)!!! Archetype <— CRAZY sounding… romance? Not sure, but a love story of some sort, to be sure. And I Found You (he finds her (running), gives her a place to stay… they become friends. You know how it goes. Thing is, he’s got a fiancée).
This was an amazing release week! Some highly anticipated series installments that have many in our crew jumping with joy! Looking for bad boys? Never fear! We have some fighters, bikers, a couple of DARK reads, a rock star or two, and a Mob boss, too! Oh…and for those looking for light and funny, sweet and ansgty… there are some rom-coms down there, too! I labelled ’em nice and clear. 😀
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
BARGAINS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).
- Enough Isn’t Everything (Everything Trilogy) by K.L. Shandwick <— Jenny recommends this one. She says: “Here is another series that has been recently re-edited and re-released!! I loved this book!! It’s a trilogy and is very angsty!! Rock stars The first two books are out and the third will be coming soon…”
- The Wedding Game by Amy Matayo <— Aimee found us this deal and it’s got a bunch great reviews! “Cannon James has a plan: Sign on as a contestant for his father’s new reality show, marry a blonde hand-picked by the producers, and walk away two million dollars richer. It’s all been arranged. Easy. Clean. No regrets. Until Ellie McAllister ruins everything by winning the viewer’s vote. Now he has to convince America that he’s head over heels in love with her. Not easy to do since she’s a walking disaster.” <— awww!! I can already feel that “angsty’ moment…
- Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon <— Aimee found us this deal, too. (it was recommended on my Rom-com” list. Kristina says: “Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon is another hilarious one. Very funny, sweet romance read, I highly recommend it. A very funny part was when her boyfriend put sriracha sauce on her….well, you just have to read it to find out! … I needed a break from all the angst, lol“
- Here (YA Romance) (Here Trilogy) by Ella James <— Aimee LOVED it! ” for those who enjoyed Lux series — this one has the same vibe. Just read it in one sitting last night!! Loved it..second book coming next week.”
- Naturally, Charlie by S.L. Scott <— (thanks Kat!!) and sounds so funny and sweet! She meets him on a subway…
- Shattered Ties (The Ties Series) by K.A. Robinson <— Kat found us this deal, too! Rich girl (rock star dad/supermodel mom) and boy from the “wrong side of the tracks”… “When Jesse shows up on the first day of school, Emma can’t help but be intrigued. Her mother would never approve of Emma talking to someone so poor, but she doesn’t care because something about Jesse draws her to him.“
- Burning Down the House by Allie Gail <— I’m bringing this one back again. It had me intrigued (I couldn’t figure out if the “hero” might be a bad guy or not) but Nancy decided to give it a go, and loved it! “Just finished burning down the house from tuesdays recommnds…sooo good! Put that on your tbr 17!“
- Archetype by M.D. Waters <—- eeeeep!! Crazy sounding premise alert! Okay yah… I had to one-click this! “Emma wakes in a hospital, with no memory of what came before. Her husband, Declan, a powerful, seductive man, provides her with new memories, but her dreams contradict his stories, showing her a past life she can’t believe possible: memories of war, of a camp where girls are trained to be wives, of love for another man. Something inside her tells her not to speak of this, but she does not know why. She only knows she is at war with herself. Suppressing those dreams during daylight hours, Emma lets Declan mold her into a happily married woman and begins to fall in love with him. But the day Noah stands before her, the line between her reality and dreams shatters. In a future where women are a rare commodity, Emma fights for freedom but is held captive by the love of two men—one her husband, the other her worst enemy. If only she could remember which is which. . . .“
- I Found You: HarperImpulse New Adult Romance by Jane Lark <— This sounds like serious romance-angst potential! “On a cold winter night, Rachel and Jason’s lives collide on Manhattan Bridge. She’s running from life, he’s running toward it. But compassion urges him to help her. His offer of a place to stay leads to friendship and trouble. There’s his fiancée back home in Oregon and a family who just don’t trust this girl from the wrong side of the tracks.“
PARANORMAL
- A Shade Of Vampire 6: A Gate Of Night by Bella Forrest (here’s the series reading order).
- Lords of the Underworld Bundle 1: The Darkest Night\The Darkest Kiss\The Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter <— old books but NEW bundle. 🙂
- Vicious by Olivia Rivard
- Witchy Woman (Loveswept) by Karen Leabo
- Addicted To Love by Katelyn Skye <— “Chloe is a struggling artist in New York City. Art is her gift, but also her curse. No matter who enters her life, the pull of the canvas forever impedes her ability to make a real and lasting romantic relationship.”
CONTEMPORARY
- The Beast by Jaden Wilkes <— SCARRED HERO/HERMIT ALERT!! Sounds good!!! “An attack four years ago left him disfigured and in seclusion, hiding from reactions to his appearance and in safety from those who failed to kill him the first time. Comfortable in his penthouse, managing his billion dollar businesses, he’s resigned himself to be alone, simply called The Beast among those who’ve dealt with him in the past.” And of course a woman insists her way into his life…
- Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover <— MUSICIAN ALERT!!! And it’s what I’m reading now!!! 😀
- I Love You, Always (I Love You, Volume 3) by Natalie Ward (book #3 in the series) <— I hear this series’ll make you cry! Or at least the first book will.
- Behind His Eyes – Truth (Consequences) by Aleatha Romig <— DARK READ ALERT!!!! (Consequences Trilogy Reading Order). The first two books were a whirlwind! Here’s my review of Consequences (book #1).
- Beyond Jealousy (Beyond, Book Four) by Kit Rocha <— I loved #1 in this series (and still need to catch up to the rest). VERY steeeeeeamy erotica/fighters/dystopian/gang members etc… fun times! (here’s the Beyond Series Reading Order and my review of book #1 – Beyond Shame)
- Tied With Me (With Me In Seattle) by Kristen Proby (here is the With Me In Seattle Series Reading Order) <– GORGEOUS COVER!!!
- Frenched by Melanie Harlow <— highly recommended by one of our fav authors, M. Pierce. Another GORGEOUS cover!! Okay, so from the blurb I’m getting that… She’s left at the altar, takes her honeymoon to Paris (alone!) and meets a hot bartender there… “The easygoing bartender’s scruffy good looks and less-than-sympathetic ear annoy her at first, but when she takes him up on his offer to show her around the city, she discovers that the romance of Paris isn’t just a myth.” Ruh roh!! Oh yes… I bet this is gonna make me swoon!
- Unconditional (Beachwood Bay) by Melody Grace
- Deep Surrendering (Episode One) by Chelsea M. Cameron <— “Deep Surrendering is a series of novellas that tell the story of Fin and Marisol. Each novella is around 20,000 words and contains a complete story, but all are part of a larger story arc.”
- Reclaiming the Sand by A. Meredith Walters <— Amy loved it! “It’s one of the most profound books I’ve ever read.” —> She’s the bully… “He was taunted and teased, bearing the brunt of systematic and calculated cruelty, ultimately culminating in a catastrophic turn of events that brought Ellie and Flynn’s worlds crashing down. But then Flynn and Ellie grew up. And moved on. Until years later when their paths unexpectedly cross again and the bully and the freak are face to face once more.“

- Forgive Us Our Trespasses (Redemption) by M.L. Steinbrunn
- A Firefighter’s Flame: A Novel by Dani Hart
- Fade In by M. Mabie
- Dominic (Slater Brothers) by L.A. Casey <— Another gorgeous cover (looks like he’s a fighter)? I dunno… but, she’s closed herself off from the world (due to tragic past), and he’s gonna open her right up! “When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. …the only way he can get to her, is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how…by force. Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.“
- Underestimated Too by Jettie Woodruff <— DARK READ ALERT!!! Maria found us this new release! “Loved Underestimated by Jettie Woodruff but now read Drews POV in Underestimated Too!!!” <— check out my review of #1: (Underestimated)
- A Cry For Hope by Beth Rinyu <– oh this one sounds very tragic!!! Lost her eight year old son and is slowly losing her husband… goes back home and reconnects with old friend (who is on leave from the Marines)…
- Broken Justice (Justice Brothers) by Suzanne Halliday <— re-release! YAY!! He’s brooding. My favorite! 😉 “Once a throw away kid heading for trouble, he found a sense of purpose in a war zone. Years later, successful, handsome and wealthy, Cam’s mistrust of women and relationships in general have left him a brooding loner.“
- Ball & Chain (Cut & Run) by Abigail Roux <— M/M ALERT!! HUGELY popular series just had a brand new release!! (here’s the series reading order)

- Monster by Francette Phal <— DARK READ ALERT!!!?? I think so, from that synopsis… *eeeeep!!* She marries him for money but… “Dominic is Ruthless, manipulative and sadistic but Eden is determined not to break under his cruelty. But how does one persevere when in the clutches of a Monster?“
- Breakaway: A New Adult Anthology by Jay McLean, Ilsa Madden-Mills, Penny Reid, Pam Godwin, Missy Johnson, Dawn Robertson, Linda Barlow, Alana Albertson <— so many of our favorites!!!
- Deceptive Innocence, Part Three (Pure Sin) by Kyra Davis
- Unexpected Consequences (Isthmus Alliance) by Sloan Johnson <— oh oh! Love threesome issues “That’s what makes his friendship with Mary and Jeff work. All three of them are looking for some no-strings-attached fun. Until fate steps in, making them all take a look at what’s been developing while they’ve been busy fooling around.“
- CRASH: An Evil Dead MC Story (The Outlaw Series) by Nicole James <— BIKER BOOK ALERT!! I read #1 (my review) and this book is #2!

But when her sexy exhibitionist comes to work in her office, Meredith’s two worlds collide… and she finds there are other uses for the stationery cupboard.“
- His to Possess by Opal Carew
- Happily Ever After: A Novel by Elizabeth Maxwell <— Oh it’s the stuff of fantasies!!! BOOK fantasies!!! Just look at this blurb: “At forty-six, Sadie Fuller’s life isn’t exactly the stuff of romantic fiction. A divorced, overweight, somewhat sexually frustrated mother of an eleven-year-old, she lives in the suburbs, shops the big box stores, makes small talk with her small-minded neighbors, and generally leads a quiet life. But while her daughter is at school, or when Sadie is up late at night, she writes erotic fiction under the name KT Briggs. Then, during a routine shopping trip, Sadie runs into someone familiar…too familiar, in fact. She encounters an incredibly handsome man exactly like the one in her imagination–and her latest novel. Is Aidan Hathaway really one of her characters? And if so, what is he doing in Target? As Sadie tries to negotiate this strange new world, her eyes begin to open to romantic possibilities in places she never dreamed of looking…places where Happily Ever After might not be so far-fetched after all.“
I was ALMOST sold on Archetype. Then I saw that there was a book two and thought, ‘Oh a series…even better!’ NOPE not a series; Book 2 is the ‘conclusion of Archetype’. That just blew the whole thing for me. I’m getting tired of authors eeeeeeeking out stories into 2,3,4 books. Over. It..
I read Reclaiming the Sand in one sitting last night (which I normally don’t do anymore). It is really great. I loved Flynn. The story is incredibly heartbreaking. Ellie makes it tough to love her. I feel like people are going to either love this one or find it hard to like Ellie. Beautifully written. I would recommend!
Just finished Monster. I really liked it but….the author spent too much time & effort into making the readers hate Dominic & too little time redeeming him. The stuff he did to Eden was horrible & just a couple pages dedicated to WHY he is the way he is. I needed to get more in his head. I needed him to REALLY feel remorse. That’s what I had the most trouble with….Eden called Dominic a sociopath in the book & it takes more than a couple of chapters to redeem a sociopath.
I loved Fraternizing by C. C. Brown. If anyone else did as well, part 2 is coming out on the 20th. It’s titled Compromising.
“Reclaiming the Sand” was an incredible story. Very well written and so touching.
Also, “Beyond Jealousy” by Kit Rocha is a new release as well! The Beyond Series is a great dystopic erotica read. And “Beyond Jealousy” is about Ace/Rachel/Cruz! HOT! 🙂
Black Box and Confessions of an Alli Cat are both .99! CLICK
Gah! Archetype will have a part two??!! Hopefully that’s why #1 is on sale? Maybe it’s coming out soon?
Thanks you guys so much for your book feedback. Reclaiming the Sand definitely is my kind of thing (it sounds so unique).
Good to know about “Monster”, Lauren. If the guy really does act that monstrous (which I’m sure he does), I would definitely hope for some relief by way of redemption…
Thanks for the follow up Krystal. That one sounds so good too.. ahhh forbidden love is so much more fun! LOL! (in books. 😉 )
Don’t yell at me girls….but I haven’t read any Colleen Hoover books yet and I know I have some downloaded, but….just never took the plunge! Convince me to read something by her please!
OMG PLEASE READ SLAMMED!!!!! JEAN!!!!! Jeeeeeeeeeean pleeeeeeeease read it. YOU MUST!!!!! 😛
Don’t read any reviews. Go in like a blank slate and have fun! Okay and maybe tears.
See Maryse, all you have to do is ask and I will! Haha! I know I already downloaded it months ago….so I am on it (and it will be with a blank slate because I have no idea). I will read that while you read Maybe Someday…then we can circle back and read Songs of Submission together!!!! There, I have it all figured out for us! lol
I remember reading Slammed when it came out a couple of years ago (stumbled on it accidentally!), and I was really hoping Colleen Hoover would become a well-known author. I am so happy for that talented lady – and for us because we get the fruits of her labor! So that sounds corny. Whatever. I don’t care ’cause I’m so hung over right now from Rock Bottom. After Walking Dead on Sunday (OMG! Still upset!) and RB last night/early this morning, *I’m* a freaking Walker right now.
Speaking of Colleen Hoover, have you read the blurb for Ugly Love? I call it right now – we’re gonna get screwed up from that one! But we’ll love it. 😉
And Jean, you *have* to read the Slammed series!! I rarely, rarely tell people they *have* to read something…but you *HAVE* to read Slammed! Have you read Hopeless? Oh, that woman can WRITE!!
Amy, you must move on to Lovely Trigger ASAP!! And no, I haven’t read Hopeless either, but have had them both downloaded for months now. I am taking the plunge, Slammed it is! (How can I not listen to my two favorite people on Maryse’s book blog….lol!!)
Underestimated Too is brilliant. I’m not into the other POV rehash of a story and this is not. It is still in Morgan’s POV and picks up 6 months after the first one and has Drew telling his back story in therapy sessions. Loved this one more than the first mainly because of the writing style. Don’t hesitate like I did, only caving when I saw the super high ratings. I love these dark reads… 🙂
Jean, I started LT at 2:30 this morning right after finishing RB. Big (but good?) mistake. I figured at 4:00 I should get some sleep. Pshh, I let my boss know I won’t be working until later today. *hee hee*
Haha! I called out sick on March 11th so I could sit on my couch all day and read LT…..had been planning it since I found out the release date….so I get it! Waiting for my boss to leave now so I can start Slammed…you have me excited for a good read!
I’m so excited, Jean! *squealing/doing a happy dance* (All in my head, of course – I’m too tired to do that for real 😉 ) Maryse is right, go into it not knowing anything! Okay, I’m off to finish LT. I’m going to *miss* Tristan and Danika…
Reclaimimg the Sand is an amazing, different, somewhat unusual love story. Not the typical romances we are used to.
I’m loving Dominic by L.A. Casey right now! I’ve been laughing me arse off most of the way through. It’s set in Ireland, the banter between MC’s is giving me life! I’m only at 60% or so, but so far one of my favorites of this year.
Finished Tied with Me by Kristen Proby this morning, loved it, but then I’m a big fan of this series.
I just finished Maybe Someday. I don’t know if I’m just in an ‘off’ mood or what, but it really didn’t live up to my expectations. Way too many song lyrics (in my opinion) and not enough romance. Just not what I’ve come to expect from Colleen Hoover. 🙁
Jean, that sounds perfect to me!! We’ll meet up for Songs of Submission right after. 🙂
Amy. Can’t wait you hear you after Lovely Trigger!! Feel free to keep us up to date with your feelings as you go. 😉
Margaret, that sounds PERFECT!! Now I’m wanting to read it.
Lori, the Ireland thing got me, and that sexy cover, too.
Celeste, thank you for the update. I’m starting it right now. 🙂
Loving all of these!don’t know where to start.lol.Any angsty suggestions?
Oh my…I’m crying. Actually crying over Lovely Trigger. *sniff-sob-snort* I never cry over that kind of book and that kind of wrap-up. *Never.* My chest is splotchy (my emotional “show”). Hubby just asked me if i want him to get a Xanax from the neighbor. Insert my choice words. I told him I want my manatee. No, not *his* manatee. My *snuggling* manatee! 😛 That was just…wow. 😀
OMG…I just finished Frenched and it was AMAZING!!! Great recommendation from M. Pierce and you, Maryse! Smart, funny, sexy, sweet…this book has it all! Now I just need one to top it!
YAY Ashley!!! I want to read this!! I like the whole “scruffy bartender” thing… and the fact that each day she spends with him they’re getting closer and closer. GAH! I can imagine what the “leaving to go back home” would be like after a week like that. *sob*
Maryse,
I’ve been out of the comment loop lately, but have still been reading away. Just wanted to take a moment to let you know how appreciated you are for your awesome website. You are most definitely THE BEST book reviewer/blogger out there..with your enthusiasm and detailed character reviews, with your extremely strict and on-point rating system, you rock! I know when I see a five star on your site, it is a MUST read! Again, thanks to you…and your hubby…. For the time you spend reviewing books for us readers and many authors. EXCELLENT, FANTASTIC,SUPER JOB!!!!!
Thank you SO much Heidi. Wow that made me grin!!!
I appreciate you taking the time to let me know you’re enjoying it, and let me tell you… I’m having a GREAT time. This is my other “home”. And you guys are my dearest friends!! 😀 *big squeeeeezy hug*
Maryse and Amy….OMG! I am 55% into Slammed and absolutely loving it! It’s one of those treasures I’ve had on my Kindle for so long just waiting for me, with me wondering “why did I wait so long to read this one?” Can’t wait to get out of work today and finish! Thank you so much…definitely got me over the T&D book hangover! And Amy, don’t worry we are here for support if you can’t find your manatee!
Jean!!! YAY I KNEW IT!!!!
Nobody can read that book (blindly) and not gasp with glee at the reveal. LOL!!!! Best time ever!!!!
And you’ll be carving pumpkins soon enough, if you haven’t already started…
*sidles up to Amy and her manatee and snuggles, too*
Just finished MAYBE SOMEDAY. I’m speechless. It was beautiful!!!
Well, once again, Colleen Hoover does not disappoint. With the music, Maybe Someday with will be stuck in my mind for quite a while.
I have to agree with Heidi, your blog saves me a lot of work when looking for my next read. My opinion rarely differs from yours. You are a valuable resource for us readers. Thank you!
Will Cooper can carve my pumpkins anytime *giggle* 😛
I am absolutely 100% in love with Will Cooper………
*sigh* Makes me want to go back and experience Slammed all over again. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what you think of Hopeless, Jean!
I am just loving it, and I have Hopeless already downloaded, but I may “squirrel” away a bit because there are just too many choices…need/want to read Maybe Someday, Songs of Obsession series, Driven series, and I am intrigued by Reclaiming the Sand! Ugh! Is Hopeless as good as Slammed?
Oh and I need/want to read Frenched too!!
Jean, *I* think Hopeless is just as good as Slammed, but it is definitely more NA level for the content and subject matter despite being set in high school. Again, go into it not knowing anything so you get the full *oomph* from it. 😉
I think I must be broken, I just didn’t care much for Slammed, and never went any farther with the series. I did love Hopeless, and Losing Hope, thought they were both awesome.
I just finished Frenched, I liked it, easy and romantic…Tucker the fucker, it keeps popping in my head and making me laugh.
Lori, I liked Hopeless and Losing Hope more than the slammed series, as well, so you’re not alone… Either that or we’re both broken! 😉
Lori and Celeste – you guys aren’t broken! It just didn’t click with you. Hey, at least here you don’t have to worry about anyone lighting their tampons on fire and throwing them at you if you don’t love the same books that others do. 😉
Heheeeee that er… “image” made me snort. Amy you have a way with words! 😛
*giggling* 😛
So Maryse, I totally “squirreled” away from our TBR ….I started reading Coming Home last night after seeing all the 5 star reviews….I am loving it so far and can’t figure out the H’s big secret….of course I have some guesses….but I am only at 35% and intrigued!
Oh, and finished Slammed last night with my box of tissues beside me….loved it! Thanks for convincing me to read it!
Started & finished The Beast yesterday. The beginning was pretty good, but then I thought it got a little ridiculous. I won’t leave a review on Amazon because I refuse to ever leave a bad one 🙁
I did read it after the Bad Things, Rock Bottom, Lovely Trigger trilogy so that might have had something to do with it because I am in so in love with Tristan & Danika that it’s just not funny!!
Thanks for the great list! I just finished Making Faces and Arsen (both sitting on my Kindle too long). All I have to say is Wow! I know they are both older now but I am wondering why I waited so long to read them. Truly both gave me book hangovers. Now what after those two amazing books ? 🙂 Excited to hear your thoughts on Maybe Someday! I am hoping for a sale on that one soon so I can get it!
Maryse, Access Unlimited by Alice Severin is live on Amazon.
Tristan May help you get over our other rock star crush Mal!
