20 of the Latest Bargain e-Books & Reader Recommendations – July 24th 2015

Wow… I have NO clue what I’m picking next. And it’s gotta be a good one ’cause I wanna record my weekly reaction video. 😉 Tee hee! I’m always so embarrassed, but it’s fun, ’cause it’s exactly how I am. I did end up reading a latest release from this week’s list (from one of my favorite authors) and while it had her signature super-unique, detailed steam that never fails to blow my mind… I was left a little indifferent towards the story as a whole. *sigh*. I’ll review it today.

But in the meantime, I need something to excite and titillate me. Help! HELP!!! LOL!!

Might be from this list below. I know a bunch in our crew will buddy-reading one that’s featured down there, Vanguard (Bronze Horseman feel, so I’ve been told!!). Plus there’s a few HIGHLY anticipated brand new releases from our fav authors that were released over the last couple of days, like that one up there to the left (Targeted), and the gritty biker sequel to “Nine Minutes” (below – Out of Time). Or, maybe that psych-thriller mystery looking one, Relinquished (mysterious brothers that help a girl sort of living on the street). Or maybe the twin brothers in love with the one girl (and some marriage arrangement?!). Or the *oomphy* one when she realizes she just let it all out – and I mean ALL OUT – to her new boss’s son (Truth & Temptation, or maybe the hot guy in the man-auction that asks his girl best friend to bid on him so he doesn’t have to “date” anyone (but thing is… she likes him!! YIKES! Bidding on Brooks). Or maybe the blind, angry hero (RUSH). Or OR!!!! Some Boys (the bullied girl that is becoming close to… the bad-guy’s best friend)!

*gasp* What do I choose??!

    3. The Good Girl by Mary Kubica <— And Lisa recommends THIS one as an audiobook! “Today the good girl kindle is …way cheaper than usual. Although I would highly recommend this book as an audible, it has several great narrators, I still would suggest the book. One of my favorites of the year with a twist at the end. I highly recommend – Loved!!!”

 Out of Time (Nine Minutes Book 2) <— Oh yeah! In case anyone missed it… look what’s LIVE! Bad-guy biker/thriller romance lovers rejoice!! And especially those that went absolutely crazy for “Nine Minutes” (and SO many of you did). OMG that ending was CRAZY.

Paula: I am waiting for Beth Flynn’s sequel to Nine Minutes – Out of Time – was originally going to be out by end of June but looks like it may be a little delayed…I will put down whatever I am reading when that is out!

So this one’s the sequel and hopefully the relief to that kill cliffhanger that left us all *sputtering*. Tee hee!

Ela: I read the cliffy isn’t that bad and that most/all questions get answered from Nine Minutes.

Jessica: Beth Flynn is AWESOME! I am reading this book now!!!!!!

Debbie: Asked my husband to read the first chapter of Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn … he took the book to work with him and finished it in a week and he doesn’t read a lot at all. I would give that book to all my book friends!

Robin: Nine Minutes!! Character development and chemistry are always important but a killer plot makes a book!

Here’s my review of book #1 – Nine Minutes. I enjoyed it, but my friend Sherry LOVED IT. Especially a certain… someone in it. 😉  I bet she’s devouring this one right now ’cause I remember specifically walking with her in Denver, shopping in the outside malls, back in May and her going on and on about this book and what she *thinks* is going on and what she *hopes* is going to happen… 😀 I was nodding away and playing “devil’s advocate” and I think she wasn’t pleased. LOL!!!! *snort* 😛

Sherry: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH <~~~~~~~YES, I’m screaming!
I have to get myself ready for it. I just can’t go in NOT knowing about my man….
I might be waiting for some hints 😉
I don’t want to be devastated, I don’t do devastated well.

But yeah… I get that. Any story that takes us on a journey of being “her” and being kidnapped by a sexy-hot biker guy (when you’re still wayyyyyy too young to even be associating with ’em). Realizing you’re never going home again, when it was just supposed to be a fun ride on the back of a bike. *oomph!!!* And you know, the whole “claiming” thing. And other… sweet, relieving interests even in the hell-hole she’s found herself in. The crazy gang-happenings. The danger. And even crazier endings.

Yep. I’ll never forget this one.

It’s reader question Thursday, and Kim JUST sent this one over!! She only read the blurb and wants to know which book it is so she can read it… Maybe y’all know?

She asks:

“I read a synopsis of an upcoming release several weeks (maybe months) ago and I didn’t make note of the title or author and it’s driving me crazy – I want this book!

What I vaguely remember…female inherits the CEO chair of a multi-million dollar department store/chain.  She goes into hiding to escape the hounding press – to the swamps of Louisiana, in a run-down old house.  A hit-man is hired to “take her out” but as he is stalking her he realizes she is not what he has be led to believe – a spoiled tyrant.

I remember the snippet provided was coming from his POV so it must be duel POVs. That’s all I can remember – and it may not ALL be on point.

Can you help me out, please?”

You guys!!! Pure Abandon‘s blurb had my attention BIG time upon it’s release a week ago, and one of our fellow readers jumped in, and loved it! It’s of the forbidden-love, angsty tumultuous love triangle nature… you get the picture. 😉 And it’s next on my TBR list. I just gotta experience this one!

Cheryl: Just finished Pure Abandon. LOVED it!!! Well-written, angsty, love-triangle. It reminded me of Arsen, maybe not in the level of angst, but a h who is married, thought she knew what she wanted in order to be happy, but she ends up questioning her life, her husband, her choices. I knew all along who I thought she should end up with, but I still felt maybe she should choose the other MC. *my heart hurt for him* That said, I think it ended how it should. That epilogue *sigh* …heart palpitations wondering who she would choose…and that ending *tear running down my face*

Heart palpitations and tears running down her face, she says?? eek I’m so excited (and scared)! These always do a number on me.

Five Fun Facts By Jeannine Colette

1. The idea for Pure Abandon came after reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Like most Contemporary Romance readers, I went on a reading binge! I fell in-love with more book boyfriends than I care to admit and wondered what I would do if one of them walked into my life. I wasn’t a twenty-two year old, converse sneaker wearing virgin as depicted in many of the novels. I was twenty-nine, married and had a new baby.  If Kellen Kyle (Thoughtless), Brayden Carmichael (On Dublin Street) or, heaven forbid, Christian Grey asked me to run away with him…what would I do? What would you do?

2. The subject matter is taboo and uncomfortable to write. Stepping into Gabriel’s shoes was intense and where I shed the most tears.

3. The inspiration for Alexander Asher came from a specific photo of William Levy. Then he morphed into a bit of Charlie Hunnam and now, when I envision him, all I see is Sam Hueghan. (I consider this the trifecta of hotness!!!)

4. I am a native New Yorker – born and raised. The city is a character in and of itself in the novel and you can visit each location when you come to town.

5. Every character was designated a color chart for mood and consistency. Kathryn is White/Green. Asher is Black/Gold and Gabriel is Blue. See if you can see how color plays a role in the novel!

Lisa: Just finished Unwound and it was great! I LOVED the first book Bound. Ron in is just great and we get to hear his perspective in this continuation of his story with Amery. I hate cliffhanges but so glad the story wraps ups in Unwound. You won’t be dissapointed.
