I 5 starred it… it was fantastic…I can’t even tell you what it compares to… i want to compare it something… kind of arsen meets slammed… to the extreme… but not… it’s different, you can’t really use that comparison, but it’s on a level all it’s own.” eek MINE MINE MINE!!!!!

LOVE TRIANGLE ALERT!! Sounds angsty and delightfully tumultuous!! It MUST be read in order, but book #3 will be releasing in a few weeks (and is already up for preorder). 😀

“…an impossible choice shatters my world.

I love two men, and I can only have one.

About book #1:

One promise.
One forever.

One look and I knew Cole was mine. My dark rebel in leather. My powerhouse of passion, devastating smiles, and impulsiveness.
When his job sends him overseas, he promises to return to me.
A promise that’s destroyed in the most irrevocable way.

Two years later, an arrogant suit invades my heartbroken loneliness.

Clean-cut and stern, Trace is everything Cole wasn’t.
At first, he’s a job that will rescue my dance company. But as he intrudes on my life, our hostile relationship evolves.
He knows I’m still in love with Cole, but his dedication is my undoing.

Lies entangle.

J. Bengtsson – Cake Series Reading Order

By 2 Comments

UPDATED 09-10-2020!! 😀

ROCK STAR ROMANCE ALERT!!! I was hearing awesome things about this one, and now there are 5 books in the series and I’m hearing “Cake” is UNPUTTDOWNABLE.

Melinda: I’ve just read the most amazing book, it’s been on my Tbr forever. Anyway it’s called Cake by J Bengtsson. I absolutely loved it. …finished 5 big stars. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Amy: That was one of those – why did I wait so long to read it books? I’m currently reading Fiercely Emma!

Cheryl: …can’t remember who recommended this, but so far I’m really enjoying it. The H is a rock star, but not your typical one because he has had a horrific event happen to him in his childhood.

Kathy: So excited to see the second book is out by J. Bengtsson. For those of you who love Rockstar romances, Cake her first book was really good and a had a different take than all of the others that I have read. Worth the read!

Kathy: …Cake by J. Bengtsson. Love, love this book. Maryse, you need to read this book!

R. Renee: I’m currently reading Cake by J. Bengtsson and loving it! The audio is really good too so I’m going back and forth but prefer to read it. Rock star romance perfection!

Melanie: One of the best book series I have read in a long time.

About book #1:

Jake McKallister might have been a rock star, but he was no ordinary one. Surviving an unspeakable crime as a young teen had shaped him into a guarded workaholic, and he now lived his life trying to forget. If it hadn’t been for music and the redemption he found through it, he might not have survived. Career success came easily for him. Personal connections did not.

When outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell was paired with the famously reserved rockstar for a friend’s wedding, she was prepared for the worst. What could they possibly have in common? She was a bubbly talker; he was a reclusive loner. His life was filled with music; she couldn’t carry a tune. She’d enjoyed a happy childhood; his was a well-publicized nightmare.

Yet despite their obvious differences, Jake and Casey found each other, and her light balanced out his darkness. Would their love be strong enough to survive the weight of his tragic past?

ABBI GLINES ALERT!!! This one just went live! Because of Lila!!!! She leaves Rosemary Beach to start over… and meets HIM. ➔➔➔➔

“Two weeks into his no-women-rule he meets Lila. She’s so damn sweet and polite. Like she walked right out of an etiquette book. But he’d already been drunk before she walked in so there was a good chance she might not be as stunning and perfect as he thinks. He’s just too drunk to worry about that.

The next morning, he swears he can still smell her on his skin. He just can’t remember why or what happened after that third dance.

Their worlds are about to collide, and so are the secrets and lies.”

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS!!!

  • The Idea of You: A Novel <— BOOK FOG/FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!!! My awesome friend Kandace HIGHLY recommends this one but she says to GO IN BLIND!!! Oh yeah!!!! This is the one Susan read and recommended last week. THAT’S IT. TOP OF MY TBR after the next 2 buddy-reads I have going on. Plus my Fireman book. 😉 LOL!!! Gah. I just wanna read 24 hours a day.
Kandace: just finished a book. I can’t stop thinking about it. (sidenote: Here’s a tidbit from her review: “…It’s been hours since I finished and my heart is still beating fast. I’ll never forget this book and the excitement the author gave me. This is not a breezy read. I slowly savored every single word. I even found myself reading paragraphs again and again because I didn’t want to leave their world…“)

Ashley: I just finished re-listening to two books by Ella Maise To Love Jason Thorn and a To Hate Adam Connor, both are so much fun – if you haven’t checked them out before I highly recommend them!

Tessa: Ashley, I loved To Love Jason Thorn. That was such a fun book. I’ll look up To Hate Adam Connor. (yeah for KU!)

Tessa: “Shifter’s Shadow (Legion of Angels Book 5) by Ella Summers was released on Fri! *squee* I am loving this series. Once I’m done with my book, I’m going to move onto that! (The book is short. I’ll be done tonight.  :D )”
  • Black by T.L. Smith <— DARK ROMANCE ALERT!!! My friend Samantha (I like to call her ‘Manther <— I dunno 😉 I come up with weird nicknames…) absolutely LOVED this one! She’s been my friend for years, and we totally lost our minds together over Twilight. And I’ve come to realize over the years, book-wise, what Samantha loves, I love.
Samantha: Hey love. Just read another good book. It was called Black by T.L. Smith. Dark romance with MC undertones. Sh**ty proofreading but really captivating. It’s so good! Like I said, typos are terrible in certain parts but it’s worth it…”

Jan: I loved the Seven series by Dannika Dark. Wolf shifters but it’s not all about the pnr – more about the people and their relationships and adventures.

Robyn: the Seven Series… I will miss reading about the Weston Pack. One of the best shifter series out there!

  • Dear Neighbor by River Laurent <— TEE HEE!!! I can’t help but love the title (see the WHOLE title on the book cover 😉 *grins*) and of course… that premise!! Recent release, awesome reviews and super-bargain priced!!! YES PLEASE!! “Here I am. One of only two residents left in an entire building block in Lower Manhattan. A developer has managed to buy out everyone else except me and the manwhore in the apartment next door…“
