It’s that time again!! Bein’ giggly and silly with the maker of the ultimate HOTTEST uber-alpha-males so far, and dare I declare her queen of the alphas (well, the human alphas, at least)…Dare I? I do have a few other #1 alphas on my list (*ahem* you know who they are… we still squee over ’em) but so many of Kristen’s men rank high on that list, now, too. Keyword –> so many. She sure has found that magic touch that makes so many of us absolutely *swoon* while simultaneously wanting to kick ’em you know where!! Now THAT is a feat! 😉

Book Review – Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley
Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain)
I think it’s safe to say that I adored this book (#3 in the series), considering my need to get a few parts off of my chest via two “currently reading” posts (here and here). I would have to say that Ty’s book so far had me the most emotionally invested out of all of Kristen Ashley’s heroes. While he still doesn’t take the #1 spot on that list (I think it will forever be Tate), he ranks at #2 with Joe. Max is #2.5 (only ’cause he seemed to be the most normal, and put together of the bunch). Shouldn’t he rank as #1, then? Sure, in real life maybe. But these are books and I read ’em to be shocked and appalled, and angrified and then I like to swoon. A LOT! And a mostly normal alpha doesn’t do the shock and appalling stuff as well as the real bad-boys in these series! LOL!
Book Review – At Peace by Kristen Ashley
At Peace (The ‘Burg Series)
At Peace was everything I was hoping it would be. It had the gorgeous, hulking, protective SUPER-Alpha male. Super Alpha (aka Uber-alpha). You know the kind… master of his universe. The exact type of Alpha that we’ve come to expect from Kristen’s novels. The reason we’ve mostly become obsessed with these books are simply because her alphas are equal parts arrogant jerk and perfect hero.
A little bit of a “player” (’cause every woman wants them, and they know it), bossy ’cause he’s skilled in all aspects of life, seemingly emotionally disconnected (maybe a bit broken… and fixable?), and yet, when he finally let’s his heart go, there is no one better. You can BARELY choose one of her heroes as the perfect one, ’cause each one, is the perfect one. Each one has something special, beautiful, intense, flawed yet flawless.

You guys. You guys were SO right!!! All I’ve got to say is O.M.G. Not done the book yet (60% something…) but you guys were NOT kidding. I cried. Oh yes. THAT was intense and rough and sooooo much worse then that first part that had me all sniffling. I was only able to pick the book back up late last night and soon after, I conked out (about 1am). It couldn’t be helped. But I KNEW what was coming, ’cause you guys warned me.
And when my body decided it had enough sleep it woke me up. It said “Maryse. You bored, yet? Sleeping is boring and you know what’s coming… they said it. They said you’d cry. Aren’t you in the mood for some crazy emotions, here in the safety of your warm blankets? Aren’t ya?”

Quick note: This isn’t a book review (yet) cause’s I’m still only in the first half, but, you know me. If it makes me *squee* or cry, I gotta share. 😉
Yep, as you can see I’m still on my “Kristen Ashley” marathon, and while I agree with many, that, reading her books all in a row means the reader will experience repetition, I’m still good with each book overall. Great actually. Sure, the characters have a similar way of speaking, of being, and there certainly is a sort of “formula” to it all. Despite that, I am still having fun, and really feeling the characters! They are making me react, and fooling my brain into thinkin’ it’s me, so I’m still in!
