By 19 Comments

Jennifer needs us, and we’ve helped her before! She has a another one for us to figure out. I thought I had it but I was wrong. 😉 This is a dark, gritty and uncomfortable read for sure (sex slaves and an evil father and his entourage…)

She asks:

Jennifer: You have always helped me before so I positive u can this time too

I have one more book I need ur help with. I read it a long time ago.

It’s starts with a young boy and girl in love and something happens and the girl is kidnapped by her boyfriends father. He has nothing to do with his father by the way. Well it goes on that his dad traffic women and the boyfriend has to act like he cares nothing for her to try and save her. read more

Reader Question – The book about the woman that is held captive in a cell with a guy who’s a monster…

Angela is looking for what sounds like a SUPER-DARK read!!!

Some of it stirs my own memory of a creepy-ish hardcore dark read from about 4 or 5 years ago, but she doesn’t mention any paranormal aspect, and the one I’m thinking of had a paranormal side…

She asks:

Hi from Tasmania in Australia!

I’m after the title of a book I read about a woman who was kidnapped, held captive and tested by being put in a cell with a guy who turned into a monster.

She falls in love with him. I think they called him 10 or J and I can’t remember her name. read more

PSYCH-THRILLER DARK ROMANCE ALERT! SHE OWES HIM, SO HE OWNS HER…

Chelli: Don’t know if this one has come under your radar but I just devoured Buttons and Lace by Penelope Skye. It’s dark, twisted and oh so good!!

Lisa M: I’m so excited to know when book 2 & 3 are coming out. Loved book 1. It was very dark. it reminded me of Pepper Winters’ & Skye Warren’s books. So with that compliment you know it’s a good one. Anyone else read it yet?

Ratula: This was a six star book for me Maryse. I am DYING for book two next month. But Brace. It has tough parts but Crow is amazing! read more

Book Review – Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes

Hidden Bodies: A Novel

Before we start, if you haven’t read the first book “You: A Novel” skip this review and jump INTO that book ASAP (if you enjoy a subdued-creepy stalker story where he actually gets the girl… but you know. He’s crazy… so… other things). 😉

And let me tell you about “You” <– When I read it, I was more into “dark-romance” reads, and this one, while it IS a “love story”, well… it didn’t get me in the romance-feels, ya know? SO while I enjoyed the creep-factor, and dreaded where it could possible go (and I love dreading stuff… in books!! Always and only in books), I just didn’t find myself connecting at all to Joe. The “Hero” (actually… the ANTI-HERO, and that’s being conservative). 😉 So I liked it. But I didn’t LOVE it. But I kinda did love it, because I GET it, now. And I love it. Here’s that review. read more
