This dark-read was obviously up my “dark alley” in soooooo many ways, that I just couldn’t resist reading it upon it’s release. Exploring a subject matter that titillates my reading-thrill needs, and so well written (you’ll see that right from the sample), with a blurb that just blew my mind. It had to be next!

Now THAT was a pure and perfect synopsis “jolt” that followed through wonderfully in the actual book! WOW! I read that blurb and was absolutely dying to jump in, ’cause I knew… anything that mentions the “girl falling for her stalker” (what what whaaaaaaat!!??) just had to be tumultuous and crazy. How could it not?

Book Review – Mafia Captive by Kitty Thomas

I haven’t read all of Kitty Thomas’s books yet, but I’m already a HUGE fan. There’s a certain addictive quality to her writing and her dark tales that ensure I will read every single Kitty book out of her repertoire (and the sooner, the better). I just can’t get enough. Plus!! She’s one of “my firsts” (see my review for Comfort Food – I had never read anything like that before and was torn as to what I was feeling). It was my first super-dark-read with a side of questionable romantic connection and unnerving emotion, and I was… bonding with the monster!!? I was experiencing Stockholm Syndrome via a book! GAH!!! CJ Roberts – The Dark Duet Series Reading Order

A reading order for only two books? Yep, ’cause for one, I loved these and how absolutely uncomfortable they made me (such dark daaarrrrrk reads!!). So addictive and they absolutely need to be read in order, even if there are just two of ’em.

And TWO, I will be blog-stalking the author (stalking is so appropriate considering this series…) gathering intel and all that, and updating this page with any news, tweets or comments by the author about potential future writings for the characters in this series. ‘Cause we all know… there’s got to be WAY more story where these came from, right? Another book, another winner! And I know it’s a winner because I’ve been in a stupor all day. Moping. I’ve been thinking about these characters, rehashing scenes, using my own “imagination” for a few *ahem* (hee hee!!), laughing to myself over a specific ruined Maserati scene.
