Voyager (Outlander)
QUICK NOTE: While I don’t think I gave anything away in this particular review (in regards to the storyline), I couldn’t help but quote my most memorable Jamie and Claire moments from this book. *somewhat* spoiler-ish (in regards to their situation), but then again, I don’t give away the “circumstance” so, it should be okay π If you’re like me and like to go into a story not knowing anything, (I LOVE surprises), then proceed at your own risk, with this review.

Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, Book 2)
Book #2 in the Outlander series had my attention, but I was not always riveted to the story. It progressed nicely, albeit somewhat confusingly. We jump from the 1900’s to the 1700’s and back again as Claire recounts her astounding tale, and it was enough to make me panic a bitΒ (Claire went back to the future?? She’s back with Frank? She’s got a daughter!Β What?! HELP! What happened to Jamie?!)
It’s safe to say the beginning (and thatΒ is how it starts) alarmed me,Β but my despair had me bound and determined to find out where this was going…

Not many updates from me on the “book front” these days, but only because I have been kidnapped by the never-ending, Christmas-spirited, shopping-monster (aka my husband π )
This is my husband’s favorite time of the year, and he quiteΒ literally turns intoΒ a character in oneΒ of those Disney-Christmas-specials (all jovial and excited, planning decorations, and Christmas capers). Considering we live in Florida, and that “White Christmas” feeling never really comes to fruition, it’s an even bigger job for us to get into the ChristmasΒ spirit.
Iβm Blog Stalking β Author News β 12-15-10
Lots of awesome author news and goodies to come! Oh and guess who I saw today!? Well not really “saw” in person, but on a movie. Leanna Renee Hieber as aΒ “Bed Bath and Beyond” employee in the movie “The Other Guys” with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg! Too cool π
- Allyson James working on (and awaiting approval for): Tales of the Shareem: Braden (and if that goes well, next book will be Justin’s). She let’s us know that her upcoming book (in June 2011) “Shadowalker” will bring back Janet and Mick (“Janet and Mick are back and badder than ever”).Β She also informs us that Stormwalker (Stormwalker Series, Book 1) has been nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award in Urban Fantasy. Woo hoo!”. Congratulations Allyson!!
- Stacia Kane’s “City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, Book 3)” has been nominated for an award at Goodreads (or maybe it’s two awards)!! Also regarding the next in the Downside series:
I am also re-reading the enormous doorstop I just wrote and am actually kind of enjoying it; I think I have some ideas where to tighten it up and yeah, there will be a nice selection of deleted scenes for the website after this book comes out. (Which no, I do not have a date yet, sorry, Iβll tell you as soon as I do.) (Same with the title.)
Book Review – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Outlander
Frequently recommended to me (especially by my sister and niece), I decided to give this series a try, when book #1 was given away as a free e-book. What a perfect opportunity! I’ll admit, the first quarter of the book didn’t floor me, but it didn’t take much longer than that, and I was swept away into the 1700’s and didn’t want to come back π No vampires, no Weres, no mystical gods in this one, however the time travel mystery that takes Claire Randall away from her home and husband to another time (and another man’s arms *gasp*) was good enough for me!
