Declan McAvoy. Voted Biggest Flirt. Highest goal scorer in Kings of Rittenhouse Prep history.
Everyone’s impressed, well except one person…

After a blow out in high school, Makenna Halstead and I were happy to never have to cross paths again. Except life has a way of knocking you straight in the teeth with a puck when you least expect it. She hasn’t just returned to my life, she crashed into it like a wrecking ball…into my college kingdom, into my class, and smack dab into the seat next to mine. My new lab partner to be exact. read more

Book Review – Someone Else’s Ocean by Kate Stewart

Someone Else’s Ocean
Kate Stewart’s latest JUST WENT LIVE and I had the pleasure of reading an early copy over the weekend!!
It was gentler on us than some of her past super-angsty books that had us in a frenzy, but it sure had it’s share of pull-pull, kindle-throwing moments, and of course… a seriously angsty moment that had my heart in my throat.

So what’s it about?

Koti has been living life on an island renting beautiful vacation houses to tourists, and loving her uncomplicated, and very single life. Having run from her high stress, demanding world, she’s finally found a semblance of peace living on the beach, and helping make visitors happy… even if for just a few weeks. That is, until Ian (her childhood friend that she hasn’t seen in ages) shows up in the vacation home right next door to hers, kicking up a storm. read more

Book Review – That Guy by Kim Jones

That Guy
I read this one straight through in one shot. Started this morning, just finished it now, and I am thrilled with it! I KNEW going into this, by the recommendations I received, that this would be a laugh-riot (and of course, anyone that has watched the FaceTime videos that Kim Jones posts, you KNOW you are in for some possibly crude, yet hilarious humor).

I just LOVE her unabashed thoughts, and just how funny she can be in her delivery, so I knew this was going to be a touch of that, at the very least. read more

Reader Question – The book about the heroine that comes into town and falls in love with the ex of her cousin…

By

Gunay has a book question for us! He sounds like a jerk-face AND he’s her cousin’s ex!

She asks:

Hey guys, great suggestions over here.

I came upon this website when i was looking for a particular book, the name of which i have forgotten. Unfortunately i didn’t find it here, however maybe you can still help me find it.

The plot is: “The main heroine comes into town and falls in love with the ex of her cousin, I believe. The ex is still in love with her cousin tho, so when they first meet in a pub (or cafe), he gets mad at the main heroine, due to the reason that she is the cousin of his ex. read more

Reader Question… Solved! The book about the girl that was using the guy’s family’s bourbon in her recipes & they can’t stand each other.

Randi needs our book help! I love books when the main characters can’t stand each other. 😉 All that push-pull (mostly pushing). So much tension!!

She asks:

Hey Maryse,

Looking for a title to a book I just read and now I can’t find it on my Kindle. It is set in New Orleans.  About a girl with a restaurant.

The book starts with her using the guy’s family’s bourbon in her recipes.  They can’t stand each other.  He hires her to cater a event for him and she only does it to get money to help her mother. read more
