Wow. This one worked for me, and I’m pleasantly surprised. I went into it thinking I was going to be sorely disappointed (as I was with the last two books), but that wasn’t the case at all.

You know when you get invited to go somewhere, and you’re getting ready to go, but you’re all bummed ’cause you’re so sure it won’t be your thing, and you’re going to have a miserable time? Big Release day!! And when I say BIG I mean Eric and Sookie BIG!!

The day we’ve all been waiting for! Yes yesssss, I know. With the last two books in the series, I’ve complained that they were been big let-downs for me, and that I won’t be as excited when the next one comes out.  But come on people!!! Quick Bit of Charlaine Harris – Sookie Stackhouse News. It’s Almost Over.

As reported by the Examiner (from a recent interview Charlaine had with the LA Times), it appears Charlaine Harris has announced that she will be ending the Sookie Stackhouse series soon.

Charlaine says:

Truthfully, the next two books will probably be the last two books in the series. I still love Sookie, but I’m beginning to want to write something else, and Sookie’s kind of taken over my life. I was able to write other things for the first few years I was involved in Sookie, but then after the start of the television show she took over so much of my time because of my increased publicity obligations that it’s been very hard to write other things, and I really need to do that. read more

So far I liked it! Everything’s familiar, (including Eric’s brooding), and, I dunno, this one is already feeling a bit like the older stuff. A little bar action, a little Eric bossiness, and a little Pam smirk.

So…I know. I’ve been whining about the direction the last two to three books have taken in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Despite my pouting, we all know I’m dying to read the next one, and the details were released last week. Hey! Where was I when all of this was happening? Oh right…I was dreaming about turkey 😉

So here are the details I was able to amass. I’m also adding extra stuff about her novellas that will also be released shortly, and anything else relevant to the progression of the series. Got more info? Let me know and I’ll add it here. read more
