Book Review – Slip of the Tongue by Jessica Hawkins

Slip of the Tongue
This book was pretty much everything we love to hate in “forbidden romance” books that involve marital strife and temptation. It was all-at-once disheartening, relieving, passionate and steamy, infuriating and cringeworthy. I was all over the place with these characters, and they were all over the place, with each other.

SUPER-SEXY STEAMY & jealousy-inducing and sorta… forbidden. 😉 ‘Cause it’s about two couples that accidentally meet at a restaurant, hit it off, and… decide to… “swap”. And not just once, and not all together. Actual separate, occasional… recouple-ing. Tee hee!

The ground rules are supposed to keep it from getting messy (you know, no jealousy, no falling in love, and no speaking about what goes on behind closed doors), but you know how that goes. (btw: Here’s my review) read more

Book Review – Pure Abandon by Jeannine Colette

Pure Abandon
Well… I really liked it!!! It read like some of our well-written favorite “forbidden angsty romance” books (had that solid, intense feel). I wasn’t out of my mind addicted, but I was into it enough that I realized I wasn’t skimming a thing. I was invested, and sinking into her entourage and living and seeing everything through her eyes without too much second guessing.

I was enjoying the whole thing playing out, even though I knew this was gonna get ugly. read more

Give Me Your Answer True (The Fish Tales Book 2)
This one was just as fantastic as #1 (just as BIG!!), and having a totally different perspective from book #1 made this story that much fuller. More complete. More real. More tragic. Allowed ALL of us to grow.

Marie:  I *love* watching people’s reactions when they read TMIL the first time. I say “first time” because it’s one of those books you keep going back to for your favorite parts. The Man I Love (The Fish Tales Book 1)
This is as intense, angsty, tumultuous and heartbreaking as a beautiful epic love story gets, my friends. Absolutely addicting!

Going up is easy. Coming down is the hard part.

And oh yes… I GET IT!!!

Even in it’s drama, it doesn’t feel… too over-the-top, though you know? Logical exasperation. No eyerolling, or book skimming, for me, even though I was fully affected and distraught. Sometimes, two people are the only people in the world for each other. read more
