Bitchie: And since you are opening your minds to a “different” sort of romance read, and you like angsty reads, might I recommend Faith & Fidelity by Tere Michaels to you all? It’s about a single father, who recently lost his wife, the only woman he has ever loved, in a tragic accident. He is just getting by, going day by day, when he meets another man- a cop. Both men are straight, both men are depressed and just down on life, and they form a friendship in their sadness. And then it becomes more, and it’s just so sweet and romantic and angsty and GOOD.
<— M/M fans, if you haven’t read this series yet, you MUST!!! I don’t have much experience in the genre yet, but I just KNOW this is one of the absolute best! There’s no denying it’s awesomeness. Check out my book review of book #1: Bear, Otter, and the Kid (4.5 stars) and you’ll see what I mean.
And if you’re not sure if you’re an “M/M romance” fan 😉 this is the first one that introduced me to the genre, and I fell hard!! There was a time I didn’t even know I could fall head-over-heels with a gay love story, but I realized, reading these, that I simply love love, regardless of sexual orientation. And so many of our fellow readers loved ’em too!
<— You just know from the cover that my eyes popped with reading glee, when I saw it. Dark looking, intriguing, and that title? “Aftermath“. Whoa. This was going to explore some depth, I just knew it. Not just “dark & psychological” (I love those!) but a potential romance of the M/M kind.
Two men that survived a kidnapping, forming an emotional bond so deep, that they continue to need each other, after the fact. We’ve heard about this kind of thing before. Maybe not Stockholm Syndrome, but certainly… right up my alley!
Anne: Hey Maryse – loving the m/m reads that you have recommended recently. Do you think you could put together a ‘Top Ten” list fir those of us looking for more? Thanks!
Dee: My first M/M and I am loving it! I will be looking for more.
Sara: I’m seriously addicted to m/m genre right now.. and I’m running out of books!!
Tracie: This list makes me happy!
Keeping Promise Rock
Remember yesterday when I told y’all I was in the mood for another m/m romance read? Well, I chose this one, ’cause my friend Jackie had recommended it to me over and over again like crazy. During a chat we were having she even listing her top 5 book guys of all time and included these guys, saying:
“Joint fifth and sixth place goes to Crick and Deak from Keeping promise Rock. Another gay love affair, but this one is more about love, honour and family. Loved those guys..”
