Reader Question – Recommendations for books that will play with your heart strings…

Samantha is in the mood to FEEL… and she’s looking for suggestions! I have plenty for her (of course!! I like the hurty-ones), but maybe you guys have some great recommendations for her too?

She asks:

Samantha: I’m looking for a book that plays with my heart strings. I want it to be happy and sad. Make me cry. I just want to feel! Any recommendations?

I know… some of you are shaking your head, maybe even rolling your eyes and thinking, rolleyes what the heck is she talking about now? Her and her crazy made-up words. neutral What is a “Marmy” list?

Tee hee!!! *giggles with glee*

Some however, who have been actively chatting books with us for months, maybe even years now, know exactly what it is, ’cause it’s YOU guys that have dubbed these books the “Marmy” books.

Marmy books are those that my “book-twin” (Amy) and I always seem to love. Maryse & Amy = “Marmy” (ergo “Marmy” books). If one loves it, the other surely will. And generally, the more traumatic, or emotionally stunning, the better. 😉 read more

BIG FAT FLOPPY TEARS ALERT!!!! I read this dry-eyed right to the end (waiiiiit for it…), knowing for sure… I was bound to cry, right? Why wasn’t I crying yet? WHOA THAT PART? WHOA. THAT THOUGHT? WHOA. WHAT HE/SHE JUST SAID?!!!!! WHOA. THAT FEELING?!! But it’s as if my emotions were on standby. Like I was scared. Like I was waiting… for something, and I didn’t know if I needed to cry for heartache and pain, or for joy. Or for both.

What to Read After Me Before You

But of COURSE, you just KNOW I had to make this list. 😉 So many of us went crazy for Me Before You. We sobbed through it. We rejoiced, and despaired in it. And many of us would love to experience that wonderful connection again, relating to such amazing, human, realistic characters, and their difficult plight together (and apart).

Sharon: Help. Just finished Me Before You. I am speechless. This book just hit me so deeply. I cried and I cried. Real sobbing tears. Not just tears in my eyes. This author is an absolute must-read-everything-she-writes author for me, so you can bet, when I received an early review copy of THIS one (paperback format!!!). I was ALL over it.
