BLURB JOLT alert and I got it on super-sale. I one clicked it SO hard considering some of the reviews and recommendations and I was dying to get to it!

bev: Maryse?? Have you heard of The Widow? Just saw a A review for it. Guess it is a psych/thriller/mystery type like Gone Girl and Girl on the Train. A bit tempted.

Leah: Just finished The Widow by Fiona Barton, a good one if you want psychological suspense. Her husband has died, but was suspected of *spoiler*. You start to wonder did he really do it? And then: did she have anything to with it. read more

Science fiction at its best! Imagine humans lost in space. A LOT of humans. The planet they are close to is already inhabited by a race of humanoids that seem to have developed technology in a way that looks like humans when they were using steam trains. Some humans decide to colonize and others will just go on in their supersized spaceship to find a better place.

They land and establish the laboratory in an area where they think there are no people living close by, but they are wrong and first contact… well, it rapidly leads to war, both parties not understanding each other… written many many years ago, this is so realistic! read more

Happy and goofy, enjoying this wonderful start to my Easter weekend, with a touch of bittersweetness, since today is my sister’s last day visiting me. *sniff sniff* It’s been an awesome time, but my regular schedule is going back into effect, and my books are going to keep me company. Priscilla is looking for this book! I wasn’t quite sure, from how she worded her question if the AUTHOR herself described the book this way, or if the heroine was an “author” (I clued in soon enough though 😉 )… but maybe those that have read this will know. And here’s the kicker.
