Following my heart, one book at a time...
<— FIRST OFF!!!!!! *thud*
IT. IS. LIVE!!!!! PENELOPE WARD’S HOT SINGLE FATHER (MACK DADDY) ALERT JUST WENT LIVE EARLY and I absolutely LOVE the premise (and she teaches at his son’s school!!!) Oh, and that cover ain’t half bad, either. 😉
“At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.
Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.
I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more…”
The Evolution of Ivy: Poison
Well that as fun! I saw the recommendation from one of my all-time crazy twist love story authors ever (Alessandra Torre loved it), and I KNEW I had to jump in and experience this for myself.
There’s nothing better than experiencing a thrill of epic guilty-pleasure proportions, especially if there are some jaw dropping twists along the way. Or at least the threat, er, I should say promise of some ;). No matter what though, a story like this promises unpredictability, which is exactly what I’m looking for.
HAPPY FRIDAY FINDS DAY!!! On this list, we have WAY more recommendations and bargain finds, than new releases, so consider this a “tried-and-true” reader recommendations list!!! Everything from laugh-out-loud funny books finds, to angst, to bad boys, to emotionally enlightening reads, to awesome-sounding M/M romances that are making some of our fellow readers FREAK OUT in delight!!!
I’m reading one too, in fact. 😉 The Evolution of Ivy: Poison is a sort of “psych-thriller” or “thriller-romance” or “psych-romance”. Not sure yet, ’cause I’m only in the second half and this one could go ANY way, in fact, I suddenly sense a shift in direction that I am thoroughly enjoying. But to give you an idea, … STALKER ALERT!!! She’s been in love with him all her life, and he’s now marrying someone else. So she changes everything about herself, sets her plan in motion and intends to get him back ANY. WAY. SHE. CAN. And oh my, am I enjoying the crazy. 😉
Yep. Short and sweet my friends, but definitely a question we’ve all had for various books.
So… Shelley asks:
Fake Fiancée <— Is that Brock O’Hurn???
Nope!!! But I wondered that myself, ’cause that’s who I thought it was too.
In this case, the author herself (Ilsa Madden-Mills), answered, AND has given us SOME “behind the books” info on this one saying:
“Fake Fiancée is probably the sweetest book I’ve ever written. There’s no huge drama…it’s a feel good, romantic comedy and if you wanted to read it….haha.”
First off… LOL!!! I love the book-terms we come up with here. bev bought us “Catnip“, meaning that certain THING about a story, or blurb that will have us crazy in one-clicking delight, eager to roll in, er, I mean devour our newfound guilty-pleasure. Probably roll in it, too. LOL! 😛
MichelleS’s reaction/confession (and the discussion it sparked) made me laugh so hard!
So here it is:
bev: I was wondering what is your catnip, the keywords that make you want to buy. I think I’m learning a bit of some of yours. Fairies for MichelleS. Tessa likes the heroes that are d!cks, Amy the heroines that are.
But really what checks the box for you?
